Assuming Arteta needs to add more width, who would he go for, Zinchenko or Tierney?
Assuming??
We're talking about what is happening and what have happened(analysis), and you're talking about assumption. cheesy

The main Koko ls that Tierney inverts into the midfield too whenever we play not holding width as it's believed or claimed. Also he hardly plays (or spam) crosses this season too

Tottenham away isn't always easy but we should get it done.
Me too, I'm more worried about Newcastle than Tottenham. Also Man u too. But I'm not ruling out Tottenham cos we're playing them away and they'll be looking wounded entering into that match(rivalry tinz) grin

Spy360:
What's your point?

The fact is that whenever Tierney plays he adds more width and sends more crosses than Zinchenko.

Also, a double pivot with Partey affects the flow and quality of his game. This does not apply to Lokonga or Elneny. A double pivot actually suits them.
My point is that Tierney doesn't play width nowadays. If you watch even our latest game against Westham where he started, he was always drifting into the Midfield/middle. Same against Brentford and Aston Villa (games he started).
And it's farce to say Tierney puts in more crosses— That's false and a very big misconception. Just because Tierney of previous seasons puts in more crosses doesn't mean he does so frequently this season. In fact he's made only 11 crosses in 14 matches this season while Zinchenko have made 11 crosses in only 9 matches.
Tbh, I always find it funny when guys this season always say KT always spam crosses. Like same Tierney weh I dey watch this season?

As for Lokonga, it's very obvious the matches he played. Elneny haven't started match this season (or just 1 if I'm not mistaken) so I can't even make a case for him.
Partey is boss. Not that he can't play Double pivot but the single pivot makes us more expressive and fluid. Something Lokonga always makes us limited in whenever he played this season.

Quite tough but I trust the boys.

It means it'll be our next 4 games will decide who'll definitely top each other(with us at an advantage obviously)

We were an eye sore yesterday. Mount especially was stinking up the place. Our midfield was so non-existent that one could fix up a stage for P-Square brothers to perform "e get as e dey do me".

I won't even fault CSO that much because he was doing the job of old man Azpi as well. Our play was just so disjointed; Sterling not knowing how to keep the ball, Puli falling down more than he stood up with the ball and Havertz running like a headless chicken.

With TT, we used to create many chances and hour issue was conversion. Now we don't even know how to create again talk more of conversion.

Tuuueeeh!
Oga Havertz10 go dey look you one eye with the first bolded While Oga Popi go deh look you him own eye with the 2nd bolded.

But Apostle, this wan wey you no deh enter mountain for Chelsea matter again unlike before, wetin dey happen na? And na now Chelsea needs you pass to do dry 40days fasting. grin

Spy360:
On tactics, one remarkable job the recruitment team has done is to select players with multiple dimensions in their game.

Each of our players can play in multiple positions in the same game. Most multidimensional players would rather play those separate roles in different games.

This multidimensionality is what Arteta is mining to create multiple tactical formations and styles IN THE SAME GAME.

Each player brings his own formation. For example, when it's Partey it's a single pivot, when it's Lokonga it's double. When it's Jesus, he is a false striker, when it's Nketiah it's a lone striker. When it's Zinchenko, it s in inverted fullback, for Tierney it's a stretched width. Saliba it's a back 4, Holding it's 'go home, shop is closed' back 5.
Both Tierney and Zinchenko plays inverted fullbacks this season. It's the reason why Tierney have lesser crosses per game this season unlike previous seasons. The only thing distinguishing Zinchenko from Tierney in that role is just quality since KT is still learning on the job

The only thing why we play double pivot with Sambi is just his overall weakness in that role. He hardly brings anything aside from recycling and maintaining possession.

Omo, it was a nervy ending.

Arsenal of past seasons would have lost this match. In fact, we would have even lost or drawn this Match before it even got started just because Man city drew. I know how many times In past seasons we didn't capitalise on our challenger's dropped points. But this season and this boys seems different

So obvious,...if a player does not get enough play time, and even the small time he got he could not deliver in his club, you don't expect the manager to use him or build his play pattern around such player.

How many chances did he get in each match at the world cup? and what was his conversion rate?
will you play him as a manager?

1st thing that affected him is change of play pattern. From Day 1, it was obvious Ronaldo can't play ETH style of football.

Age and lack of concentration happened, according to the doc, which I kinda agree with.

Nonetheless, there's a Luka Modric still running the show at 37, even as a midfielder that still runs the length and breadth of the pitch.

Different strokes for different folks
To be honest, this is a mystery sha.

If it's another player, I might have understood but Cr7 who's always known as a man of concentration and fitness. Such sharp drop off is surprising sha

As it’s the end of the year, who in your opinion is our club's:

- Player of the year
- Young player of the year(21 and under)
- Most improved player of the year
- Goal of the Year
- Match of the year

Please the duration is for January 1st to December 30th 2022.
Mine is

-Player of the year — Saka (embodiment of consistency)

-Young player of the year — Patino

- Most improved Player of the year — Xhaka (What a turnaround it have been for him and what a year)

- Goal of the year — I'll go with Martinelli's goal against Watford. All the movement from the throw-in to Odegaard's pass, to Lacazette layoff to Martinelli curler to the GK not diving. Best of it all is that they all did one-touch on the ball. Simply work of Art!!

-Match of the Year — Our Match against Man city (2-1 loss). Yeah I know we lost, but it was the beginning of something new. It was the match that really gave me hope and confidence in this team and what made have confidence in Arteta and what he was cooking. The way we outplayed Man city and only a red card undid us.
We lost the match but that match made me realize we really won the war and we can see the fruit this season.

So guys, this is the first batch. Lemme hear your opinions and thoughts

Any right-thinking person knows that Ronaldo was benched at United because he couldn't offer what ETH was offering. He simply wasn't good enough but what bothers me is how he went from being their best player to becoming bang average both for Portugal and United in the same year.
Good question and that's what I'm wondering too.

I'm mean, this is a guy that scores screamers and goals as at May. Scoring 18goals in one of the most competitive league in the world (no mean feat).

How did a player who scores wonderful and consistent goals as at May now become so bang average at both club and country come August - December same year?
