There are many, many grey areas. It's not all teams that belong to your favorite-underdog classification.
Many teams are in between; for instance, Netherlands, Belgium, England, etc. You can't call any of these teams favorites or underdogs. Like he's just seeing it as words and opposite. If you're not a favourite, then certainly you're an underdog. If you're not a great player then certainly you're a flop. No in-betweens!! |

Nobody will tip AC milan as UCL favourite in this year's competition because they have 7 UCL In this world cup, everyone is tipping either Brazil, Argentina and France as favourites. Now if someone like England or Spain goes on to win it, would you say an underdog team like England or Spain won it ? |

That you're not a favourite doesn't automatically means you're an underdog and that's the mistake you're making. Benfica and Porto, 1..what has been the performances in Europe (UCL) for the past 20years?. 2... Who's their coach, their players 3... how's their league ratings/strength? So yes, if any of benfica and Porto wins it, they'll be rightly termed as underdogs but not you guys. Tuchel reached finals with PSG the previous season before coming to Chelsea. Also Chelsea is one of the biggest teams in the world in arguably one of the best league in the world. How then would you say both Chelsea and Tuchel are underdogs in a UCL final? raumdeuter: The world cup in Qatar is starting in a few days
There have been many issues with many people attacking the choice of Qatar ranging from
1. They used slave labor to construct the stadium and slavery is prevalent in Qatar 2. They banned alcohol and are not accepting of Gay People 3. They bribed to get the hosting rights 4. They are interrupting the football calendar by having the tournament in December
For me personally, these issues if I will rank them from Most important to least import, I will list as above with 1 being the most important and 4 the least important
While some have merits some of the issues are just stretching things
If you are so pissed about Qatar hosting, just boycott the world cup like Cantona. Don't watch don't fly there, dont even comment about it just ignore and let those who dont mind enjoy the games It will be harder for me to be very connected when Nigeria is not playing though but I wish everyone the best and for Germany to win
Favorite will be France Brazil Portugal This has always been my stand. The only one that I had big issue with is the first one. Argie all the way!! |

SirKay3: SUPER SAKA Kind England and Arsenal star Bukayo Saka pays for 120 Nigerian kids to undergo life-changing surgery ahead of World Cup
ARSENAL star Bukayo Saka has paid for 120 children in Nigeria to undergo life-changing surgery.
The England winger, 21, teamed up with the charity BigShoe to help children in Kano, Nigeria's second largest city, who were suffering from hernias and brain tumours.
Saka's parents are Nigerian, and the Arsenal star said he feels "very connected" to the country.
Saka's parents were both raised in Nigeria before moving to London, where the Gunners forward was born in 2001.
He said: "I feel blessed to be in a position where I can contribute to making the children's lives easier and better through these surgeries.
"I still feel very connected to Nigeria.
"For me, it is very important to use my abilities to have a positive impact where I can and I have to say a big thank you to the whole BigShoe team for making this possible.
"For me it is important that every child has the same opportunity to achieve their dreams.
"If I can do anything to help then I really want to do this, it was very important to me.
"It makes me happy when I can see the kids happy and their parents happy.
"I want to do more and more and help as many children as I can.
"This isn't about me, it is about the 120 children."
All 120 operations were successfully completed last month while Saka is now away preparing for his first World Cup as part of Gareth Southgate's England squad.
BigShoe are a charity who help impoverished children get the medical treatment they need but cannot afford.
Former Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger recently teamed up with the organisation, donating his Germany World Cup bonus to cover surgeries in Sierra Leone, his mother's home country.

Lush100: .
Oga Bruno G. We were going for him. They priced it at 50M.(made us run away) 35M rising to 50M. Isak 60M rising to 70M. Botman 35M. Dan Burn 13M. L. Cash priced at 12M. Nick pope 10M ( I am sure there is add on coz he's an english international). Tripper 12M rising to 20M. Wood 25M All these in January transfer window plus first summer window. That's around 225M. Abeg they spent money. We were also going for martinez which we priced at 35M Man U priced to 57 M. I hope u know Man U got Casimero at 70M. @germ.aphobe @Jode.ra @spy.360 I hope u know we were trying bid for this Donesk shartak player during the summer which we quoted approx 30M. I hope u know with Newcastle and Man U in the mix, they are quoting 60M. Na why arteta go Pep carry arsenal.cart carry G. Jesus 45 plus Zinny 32M. All these ones you're saying "it's rising to" is just add-ons. We don't know the details of the deal and whether it'll be met this season or not or whether it'll ever be met or not. The only guaranteed fee there is 35m for Bruno, 35m for botman and 12m for Trippier. All these money are fees average wolves and Aston Villa are spending in 1-2 transfer windows especially if you're rebuilding but nobody dey send. Isak 70m even have nothing to do with their present position sef The core and majority of the starters are still players who were there before Arab money and Howe came on board. Give this same team to their previous coach and all of us will become oblivious to how much they spent |

germaphobe: BROTHER lets forget about guimares and focus on isak, cus he is my focal point here. would you as a coach, technical director or ceo buy isak for 70m?. Then maybe you didn't understand the context of the matter. Most.ob asked what is giving Newcastle the impetus to be in this position they're are and Spy responded saying "heavy" spending. Context on the word "heavy". So how is Isak who played only one match this season (match in which they lost sef) be the reason why they're in 3rd position? The only heavy spending there was Isak and he wasn't instrumental in anyway on the pitch in what they're doing? As for the rest(guimares, botman etc), their fees in which they're bought is something that normal average midtable teams in EPL spends and I gave example using wolves, Westham and Aston Villa. It's like us buying G.Jesus and Zinchenko and unfortunately both are out injured without playing any match and we're still in first position, then someone will now say "it's Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko spending" that made us be in first position because we spent over 70m on the two of them. Like how?? |

germaphobe: i was just reading through y'all debate and asking myself wetin be dis. spy3.60 was, is and will be right anywhere una carry dis newcastle matter go. mentions of astonvilla, everton and others doesn't hold water cus it's an entirely different scenery. newcastle went out for two young talents, they even battle arsenal and won in the case of bruno G. arsenal clearly wasn't into buying him for that high price cus they thought he wasn't up to that amount, yet newcastle did and you claim it's no big spending?, someone that your darling club left cus of this same price tag. now about isak trust me edu would never spend such on him, yea g. jesus was our main target but at some point we also went for him before withdrawing and you think us withdrawing wasn't because of his high price which the club probably doesn't see as good and him not so fitting in arteta's plan wasn't part of it. see the clear truth is that newcastle is yet to go on big spending mood, but they did spent heavily on the two players. Lol, the way you guys are talking about the guimares, someone will think they bought him for 100m. Someone that was bought for just 35m that's whom we can't buy? How much did we buy F. Viera again? The main reason we didn't buy Bruno G was because we didn't table an offer. Simple. We were never priced out of any deal As for Isak, we were never in for him. Just speculations but we were never in for him. All these talk about Newcastle spending "heavily" is because they're overperforming. If they aren't, we for no hear "pim" just as we didn't/don't hear pim wen other EPL midtable teams spend theirs too. Nobody is even talking about Westham too and how much they spent this summer. Obviously because they're underperforming too But you guys can carry on with the belief that they spent heavily sha. Peace! |

yinkeys: I’m still not convinced because of squad depth If Arsenal get at least 12 points from the 5 games I’d actually believe we’d win the league
Top 2 is certain though Newcastle, Brighton & Man City ain’t no joke I’m a realist, it’s not today they’ve been breaking hearts Let’s not count the chicks before they hatch. Arsenal over the years never had a solid backbone & usually lost points in January Seems you’re a new fan, you won’t be asking me all this if you’ve followed them since Kanu Nwanko’s era
The teams you mentioned are struggling with form We played Tottenham & Liverpool at home, both matches were tight Arsenal got lucky with a penalty against Liverpool during the closing stages of that game. Gabriel M. also would have cost us a penalty
Last season, we were supposed to have ended up in the top 4 but what happened? I’m sincerely hoping that I don’t refer you back to this post in May 2023
I’ve deleted the sentences While I agree we might not have strong squad depth (which is even arguable), but why are you using squad depth to justify your point presently. I mean, is any of our core players injured? I don't think so. So why are you thinking of the worst when the best is already staring at you? It's not about being a realist or being pessimistic, it's about enjoying the moment and believing that the best is yet to come. Arsenal this season is playing the best ball in the England, have conceded the least goals alongside Newcastle, the highest scoring team after Man city and our goal is spread. Even the mentality, resilience and togetherness is something that haven't been seen for a long time. Instead of you to look at all these positives and how far we've come, you're comparing this arsenal of previous years and talking about heartbreaks and all that. In our wins, see how you said we won Tottenham when they're in poor form but that's false. When we played Tottenham, we were only topping them with 2points and anybody who wins that match will automatically top the league but I guess you've forgotten because you want to be a realist while looking at the negatives. We've won Liverpool once in almost 6yrs only beating them in 2020(even last 2 seasons they were in poor form we didn't beat them). In fact, last season, we didn't score them a goal in 4 meetings. You forgot all these facts on how Liverpool is a bogey team to us and how we've finally overcome that instead you focused on the negatives again on how we won them at the dying minutes. You didn't even acknowledge how we played them for the first time since years. Always thinking about the negatives and taking your eyes off how far we've grown and how far we've come. Now I'm hearing west ham, Everton and Brighton From you again Mind you, nobody is saying we would win the league (leave that to rivals to worry themselves about that). We just need to enjoy the moment, enjoy the team and take one game at the time and let's see where it'll lead us to. That's why you're a fan. If you're not enjoying the moment and the team now, when are you going to be finally happy enjoying arsenal? |
