My comment wasn’t even about Xavi and Barca. It’s a general comment. And it applies to all top teams.

Man City, Liverpool, Bayern, etc.

If the players are not putting in the efforts…

If one player feels too big to do what’s asked of him…

… the system will not work.

Look at PSG and the wahala they are currently battling.
If Messi goes back to this Barcelona, is undroppable, and can’t be arsed to make an effort, they’ll crumble in no time.

This is apart from having the right players who, after putting in the effort, have the quality to play their positions well and execute their instructions correctly.

Quality has let Man Utd down too many times this season. See all the rubbish crosses they’ve been giving to Ronaldo? Ronaldo himself get for hand sef.

So, apart from having players who can’t be arsed to do their job, they also don’t have the quality to do their job well.
Oh ... Okayy
I get you now

Unlike one Mr Alex Lacazette.

But he will be very expensive to get, over 100m. I think the new target for Arteta after Vlahovic jilted us is Darwin Nunez. That guy is also very good but will need good handling.
I trust you na. That bolded must comot from your ends grin grin

Yeah.. I know he'll be expensive plus that their president wey dey act like Levy (Tottenham chairman)
I just hope we sign a very very good striker.

Forget that thing. It is difficult for a manager to succeed without a structured midfield. Xavi inherited Busquets, De Jong, and potentially the most gifted set of Spanish midfielders since Xavi and his set.

Also in modern football you will get no where with players with low work rate and who refuse to play in any way that is inconvenient to them. No manager will succeed with our structureless midfield and dysfunctional set of players. The structureless midfield might have had a slim chance of being overcome but the lazy and overpaid players makes it mission impossible.

Even if Pep or Klopp come in the first thing they will do is offload 1/3 to 1/2 of the team over 2 transfer windows.
One thing I noticed about Man utd is that you guys are not are bad as y'all think.,

For the back, they just need to integrate Lindelof with varane. The few matches those few started together it's been great and less mistake.

In midfield (the key area), you've always been talking about Hannibal Mejbri. In fact mejbri name have been here before Elanga. Yet till now I haven't seen him in bench. Don't you think Hannibal can replace Mctom in that midfield.
If he has the work rate(plus passing) plus Fred who have the work rate and energy, then Bruno Fernandez game tweaked(we all know Bruno have the work rate cos he showed it in his first season)

Attack of Sancho Ronaldo and Elanga(,with the two wingers having work rate too).
To me I think that a good coach can still make use of this squad before improving on it with his own players.

Moreover it's surprising that you guys haven't promoted anyone from academy for the midfield since mctom

Naaa ,we just wan remind una day auba good and that’s all ,and yes arsenal are also doing well without him

From what I have seen about auba,he doesn’t look like someone who cause problems in his team ,he may not be a captain material but I think he is not what the English Media and arteta portrayed him to be
Lol. Nobody here been doubt your first paragraph na tongue tongue

Auba is a jovial, likeable and cheerful guy and he can lift the room up. But then he's someone who isn't disciplined and since that's one of Arteta's non-negotiables(i.e discipline), then that's something that can't work out between him and Arteta. Auba isn't someone that's troublesome or sort but he's someone who needs to be cheerful to give his best. Unfortunately he wasn't cheerful in his last days at arsenal and that really showed on the pitch.

The good thing about this thing is that arsenal is coping well without him while auba is happy where he is. Arteta's head might be on a chopper now if auba is banging this hotly at barca while we're struggling grin grin grin

Well this is Auba early days, it'll be interesting to see how Xavi handles auba indiscipline when it shows up since Xavi is another strict disciplinarian

Most of the midfielders grew up with a similar system.

I don’t know much about Setien but I know that Koeman one of my all time favourite defenders is not a very good manager.

With Busquets, De Jong, Gavi, Pedri the players were already in place in midfield to implement the appropriate system. In addition it is a system that they all grew up playing.
Kudos to Xavi for being able to implement it though. I have no doubt that Koeman could not have done it even if given more time with these players.
I understand your point esp that midfield example you gave but the bolded was my Main point which even dey my mind to talk.
The way Ley.qute inferred about the system, one will think if any coach just come, it'll just be easy to implement it.

I even believe Man utd have the system but you guys just need the right coach to implement it. A system is almost useless if the right coach isn't there to implement it

The day I feared Partey was that our match against mancity on new years day. That guy singlehandedly shut down man city entire midfield on his own.

Funny some football pundits claimed that his signing was one of the worst signing in the league last season. I'm glad that those football pundits are no where to be found today
Lol.. I begin respect partey well well against man city but you know wen I confirm am? Against Liverpool.

Not only are Liverpool the king of pressers but klopp specifically stationed jota to shadow mark partey anytime our Cb wants to pass the ball from back, so that partey won't be the one doing the transition. While also telling fabinho to man mark partey anytime ball is in midfield.

How partey still shows up for the ball, beats the press with one touch pass, dribbles, body feinting and intelligent movements while making the best decisions still surprises me till this very minute. Na there I know say we don get king for midfield.

I have said it before and I will repeat it...

A healthy T. Partey walks into the 1st 11 of any team, if you disagree argue with the wall near you! This man has been magical and impossible to play against. I watch opposing players show frustration as they struggle to close or press him. Baba is too skillful with the ball and his movement is gracious. Without the ball he breaks passing lanes, positions for tackles without the foul...My mind just keeps reminiscing his performance yesterday!

Thomas Yeye Partey, this one's for you!

#COYG!
Teye you meant right?

I've said it before, I will never trade partey for any DM in the world. This wan na premium package we get so.

I remember some rival fans laughing at partey cos of his injury struggles.

They have a good system and everyone is willing to put in the work.

That’s why the system is working.

I have never said ArtetaOut or meant it at least.

What I said was to give him till October to change our fortunes which was the right thing. He did and I have supported him all through.

The only other person is ObaIgwe
I'm not so sure of obalgwe tho, but I know you've insinuated for the sack of Arteta either directly or indirectly. It will be difficult for any
arsenal regular poster who posts here frequently not to call for Arteta sack. Except of course that person is not a regular poster at all(maybe just post here or give opinion once in a while)

If you notice, I acknowledged and praised you for saying we needed an Am for our team to be an attacking side and that Arteta hands were tied even when people were calling Arteta names for being defensive and playing boring game. I also commended you for how you insisted our transfer window wasn't in shambles even when most of us here were already crying on how we wasted money on backup keeper and defender when we should have strengthened other area.

...But I was mute about our recent positive momentum in results and how Arteta have transformed the team greatly. You know why??

Cos you've once insinuated that you want Arteta out grin grin
