Odegaard after that hit he took started playing rubbish. His pass was no longer accurate, his execution was poor and sometimes he took to long to make an action.
There was a counter we had in the second half when we were on red card and he had all the space to give Saka(I think) on a one on one yet I was shocked and disappointed how he could play it straight to a Brighton's player body. This was not the Odegaard i know, no wonder Arteta swiftly took him off after that action.

The way timber sat down to be examined was exact same way he did last season only to hear that he's out for almost the entirety of the season. Hope it's not a deja Vu

Dunk pass was good. There are some pass you just have to praise the genius of the passer.

Who do we blame for the Dunk Through ball? Partey, Saliba or Gabu
Our defenders were far apart and that's a sweet through ball from Dunk.

The question should be why Pedro was left free after that rebound

Partey speed and some of his physicality is leaving him.

Man have been somehow slow this past 3 games but the football sense is still there. Early signs have been showing about his decline since preseason. He just doesn't cover all areas of pitches and snuff out attacks the way he normally does.

I dunno if it's end time or it's just off form but it's sad to see that we're not getting Premium Partey yet

Trossard was the reason Rice got carded because he does defend well and so Rice has all the pressure from that area.

Arteta will regret falling for that mistake or listening to fans calling for Trossard to start.

Martinelli could have easily dealt with that full back
Stop this na.

The Rice yellow cards was two different needless yellow cards that has nothing to do with Trossard.

Partey foolishly/needlessly gave the ball away tried to win it back and gave a bad ball to Rice who tried to make the best of the situation hence getting him his first yellow card

The second yellow card of Rice is just foolishness all round and as a professional player, he should have known better. Why would he infringe a free kick. Every mallam knows that it's a straight yellow for Infringing on a free kick (or kicking the ball away) yet he chose to kick the ball away. Very foolish of him and now we have Tottenham next.

I don't understand why you'll bring Trossard into this matter

Every freaking season we'll buy someone from them that their fans will be glad to see off his back while we here we'll be wailing.

That midfield was a joke na. It is impossible to bench Odegaard especially in a match of that magnitude. Me, I just want to see some mechanic football... Make we drag ourselves inside pitch and you know Ode is not suited for physical games.
Lol... Okay, I really hope you see that link lemme read. I've never imagined in my wildest dreams that anyone will believe our Odegaard is like Bernardo for us until Ebl and I never really thought others will see it that way too.

You are absolutely correct with the bolded. Let me add and mid-block defending too like we saw against Aston Villa, a quick striker would have gotten several 1 on 1 chances once he escapes the high line offside trap.

However, Arteta has other ways as I noticed how he broke that mid-block against Villa by overloading the midfield with Timber and Havertz while pushing Saka and Trossard higher

...... Trossard....... Saka..............
Rice........ Havertz...... Odegaard
....... Timber ....... Partey.............
I read an analysis on The athletic on how Arteta worked in breaking down their highline and it really worked if not for poor execution of mostly final pass by the players. We were setup to exploit them perfectly, just wrong execution.

Thank you.

I also understand Arteta tactics but getting a real striker after Nketiah departure is necessary and it must be an upgrade, there’s a reason why Teta always have a real striker even if he rarely uses him.

There are some games where the opponent plays lowblock, this is where a real striker who is good with head and already proven is needed.

I hope Edu and Teta do what will Favour the team sha cause them must show workings this season
If we no get an attacker or Striker today then na real fvck up.

PS: Odegaard is no way anything like B.silver, the right comparison should be KDB. I don't know where this Bernardo silver ish is coming from, I had to go to YouTube to check Bernardo silver and Odegaard games with an eye to see that great similarities.
...
Like even the comparisons when doing head to head, Odegaard is always setup with Kdb and Bruno Fernandes.

There must be some kind of tactical shift that I'm not aware of for me to see that Odegaard is our Bernardo.

I understand your point but it depends.

Usually if Silva is playing central midfield KDB acts as the runner. Both of them are AM and can be related to Odegaard in skill set.
If both of them plays central midfield or Am, who does their attack still depends on?

I'm not saying they don't have same skillset cos they're similar (ie Odegaard and Bernardo). I just said, "who's the closest thing to their Kdb for us"?.

Odegaard doesn't need to have same skillset as Kdb in other to be "our Kdb" na

God will bless you for the bolded. It is not so hard to see now. That attitude I mentioned as part of my reasons, who did I referenced? Arteta. To think Osimhen is a Nigerian like me and they were saying I don't like him. In arguments like this, you don't look at things from your own POV, you visualise things based on what is going at the club and the manager's behaviour. It is very simple!
On Rashford, I stopped mentioning him here when he started playing rubbish so I don't know where thy are bring the agenda from.
It's well Sha.

Make we just close the Osimhen matter, e don dey carry us go where we no know grin grin grin

Point of correction, this is not a comparison. Based on their role on the pitch, their skillsets and stats, Odegaard is more of Benardo than KDB. You can make your research sha.

Your definition of X-factor here does not really describe Osimhen. Unless they have changed the meaning of X-factor. Athleticism, creativity (passing, dribbling and vision), mentality, decision-making are what you must consider when describing a player as an x-factor. The question is does Osimhen possesses all these?
Tbh, I've made my research before I came to that conclusion. First time I saw that under Ebl, I was surprised cos he's really someone I respect his work, but in this aspect I fully disagree with him

In midfield, all attack flows through prime Kdb for Man City not Bernardo
In midfield, all attack flows through Odegaard for us.

Statwise, they might be similar (perhaps in terms of assist or so) but if you delve deeper, you'll see that most expected assists(xA), chance creation, Key passes, Big chances created are all Odegaard's forte in Arsenal.

Who do you think has all those stats in Man City? It certainly won't be Bernardo.

In terms of dictating and breaking down low blocks for arsenal when things gets tight(like dropping into midfield and starting attack). We call on Odegaard. Same thing Kdb does when things gets tight.

I don't want to talk about their skillsets cos Odegaard and Kdb are different kind of players with different skillset but the mantle, leadership and role, both have been the go-to guys in this team.

Lol, lastly I saw your post earlier today about us benching Odegaard if we want to play Man City. It was funny and I just laughed then but now I understand cos you're really seeing him as our Bernardo, cos if you'd seen him as our Kdb, you'll know that will never be an option no matter how.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 10:13pm On Aug 29, 2024
I think Mostob is still looking at it through the lens of Arteta that we need all these winger who can play Cf reason why he listed On-form Rashford(since that's how Arteta loves his players esp attackers who play dual positions).

But mehnnn, Rashford is never really an X-factor player. The season he season he scored 40g/a, his overall game was literally rubbish but he just found that scoring touch. Such a thing is never sustainable (just like Mctom last season for them). If you watch Man u the season they finished 3rd under Ten Haag, you'll testify. It's one of the big reasons I never wanted him too when the rumors surfaced we were linked with him.

Anyways, I believe case don close for this matter. Make we just chin up like Men wey we be. No hot blood grin grin

It's well!!

You followed the guy too? That means you would have known earlier if I was using his ideology to butress my argument but I did not. There is a pattern when you consider the calibre of strikers we are being linked with.
We don't need someone to bulldoze please. And let me ask you, why is Osimhen still in the transfer market with all these qualities you mentioned?

I don't know where you read it from o but odegaard and KDB are two different players. They are not similar at all. Like it is even funny reading that line. He is similar to Benardo in every aspect.
I don't too follow him since I'm not on Twitter. I just see most of his analysis on my FB and while he's good, I feel he's too critical of Odegaard instead of seeing Odegaard for who he is. And no, Odegaard is not like Bernardo oo. Creativity, eye for pass(especially in final 3rd), silkiness and beating of Man, Odegaard trumps Bernardo hands down. I don't want to even talk about shooting sef.

As for that Osimhen matter, when I mean bulldoze, I mean an X-factor player(or striker) who can make things happen and not just to be dependent on system yet his presence won't tamper with the system. I believe Osimhen offers that.
Osimhen is still in the Market and Chelsea are actively looking for him. PSG might be laid back about his injury but aside that, no big club is actively looking for Striker esp when you consider his wage.
