Why 7? why not 21? you don't seem like someone I would even spare another moment of my time with.

u don chop?

ChrisKels:
Don't be jumpy buddie. This aint no double standard it is called being real, we cant keep deceiving ourselves. Breel Embolo was with the tag "Cameroonian prodigy" but at the end he dumped Cameroun for the Swiss, same route mvogo is gradually towing. Wake up bro, if ur profile as a player doesnt read "Nigerian, Ghananian, Cameroonian etc" forget it because there is an unwritten rule that if u good enough, u aint gonna represent any of those countries u consider a fall back. Bro until a player(with double nationality) pulls the green and white, he aint no eagles' prospect. Same is applicable to other african countries. I am done creating fantasies and stupidly dwelling in them too. Ola Aina can still do a Sydney Sam.

Damne the argument anyways, school me, give me the names of the 7camerounian keepers who are starters in their respective club sides in Europe. Don't mind the conditions i gave in my earlier post. Ur time starts now...

MFM is about to record an away win at Remo Stars, and finally make a serious challenge for the top position. Their away record has been very poor before today with a goals differential of --crazy.
Let's hope some Nigerian magic don't happen before regulation time.. it's gone past 90 minutes already.

We can have the discussion monthly rather if we want..

Meanwhile the trio of Esiti, Simon and Kalu all start for Gent away to St. Truiden.

Gent lead in the away game, 0-1 at half time.

"With Cameroon listed as their nationality" bros no double standards. Just as I count Nigerian descents as Nigerians, I also do the same for other African countries. Remove those conditions you are trying to set now because we are not talking Nigeria. We all know Enyeama is the ONLY keeper who starts in a top flight European club we have. Im not even going to say he is no longer in Lille. But I guarantee u this argument is not worth having if we must do it without sentiments.

f
ChrisKels:
I challenge u to list them. Bar Onana and maybe Kameni who just left for the Turkish league who else starts in Europe with Cameroun written as his nationality?

I'm not even talking about the Cameroonian national league lol. I can name several Cameroonian keepers who start for their club sides in Europe. Let's not give excuses. Let's all a spade a spade.

Lol the problem is this. We like to box people based on one opinion. In fact I was the first to report about Dennis' recent goals on here. tbaba123 beat me to Olayinka's treble in assists when I wanted to post it. I'm following them very well and have always been in support of our youthful players.

Thank you!! Don't you first paragraph say something. Let's assume Nigeria was not our darling team. What does your sentence translate into. Let's say it without sentiments. SA was a better team all round. Let me help us translate it.

Modified
Every player cannot just have a bad day on the same day. Read between the lines SA's tactics paralyzed us.

9jaStar:
Almost every player had a bad day at the office against South Africa.

Akpeyi is taking out of the blame because he is a goalkeeper and just like defenders, their mistakes get highlighted more because it almost always leads directly to goals.

But he should have had the experience to not make multiple mistakes, and he made many on that day

No I wasn't taking it personal. If you have been following my comments as regards Emenike, there would have been no need for that question. I don't like to argue in circles. We can move on from the topic.

Oga I'm not Rohr. This is just a discussion forum. You are free to agree or not. I've only made my point. I don't take nairaland seriously as if the coach comes on here to take our suggestions. For someone to think that agents would come here. To convince who Na? Our opinions will differ but all out points here has no power over what will happen because we are just on the Internet giving our two cents -- that's all.

Humility017:
please forget emenike....will he stay on the bench for the likes of nacho, and others....?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:20am On Jul 30, 2017
Team building is a continuous process. I've made my case for Emenike especially is has to do with the Cameroon encounter. Clint Dimsey played his part in USA's recent Gold cup win despite being a veteran, this will in no way stunt the growth of the upcoming young players. These things are not black or white.

tbaba1234:
Nigeria has so much attacking talent coming through. Osaze has played his part, it is time to move on and give opportunities to upcoming talents.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:17am On Jul 30, 2017
Let anyone caling for Osaze give reasons and we can go from there. I like to see video clips too. I love to hear people out.

That single reason that he is playing in Indonesia is not enough to call the call for him nonsensical especially as we know his pedigree in the past.

Again we are too quick to call a player finished. Osaze could be in China today and could maybe still do better than Ighalo.

safarigirl:
there is no logical way to argue an Odemwingie recall.

I can't believe some people are even considering recalling him because he has 13 goals in Indonesian league, freaking Indonesia! I could score 13 goals in Indonesian male football league and I'm a skinny girl, how the hell does Odemwingie doing it make him a classy footballer?

It is pathetic to even consider calling him up when we have a host of young boys pulling similar feats in far more respectable leagues.

I would rather take a player in NPFL than consider an old goose in Indonesia.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:36pm On Jul 29, 2017
Nigerians we sure do know how to rubbish people easily or dismiss them prematurely. And we do that to ourselves even more.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:24pm On Jul 29, 2017
Anybody who calls for an older player should substantiate it. Let it be a logic based discussion. Trying to rubbish their call with with comments like this looks elementary. We know that the likes of Emenike are not playing in an overage grade tourney like the start 6 tourney, but against active players and are still performing. I've never been an Emenike fan as he has never been a high scoring striker, but he doesn't crumble at the big stage.. Watching his recent goals, I must say he is a class in his own right. And I think he will bring the needed experience in attack and ruggedness against Cameroon.

If someone says they want Osaze, then let's have a healthy debate on that. Obafemi Martins also.. but please let's not make comments that makes it seem like these players careers are finished. One, it shows we do not appreciate their immense contribution for us all these years (having the same spirit as our football officials... I guess it's a Nigerian thing). Two, it's very misleading, as these players are still holding their own and not playing as if they cannot run like Yak did just before he stopped playing actively. Three, it's poor choice of reasoning to even compare the likes of Emenike, Osaze etc to retired players who cannot play and perform in an active league.

Humility017:
you've not seen anything yet...
had it been nigeria won these just concluded star 6 tournament in UK...
some would have clamoured for the inclusion of these ex internationals in th all important Cameroon tie....
some calling for the inclusion of Yak, okocha, amokachi etc would have littered everywhere
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:08pm On Jul 29, 2017
And Nigerians said Amen to that..lol.. A nation of millions of praying warriors.. who e don epp?

As the saying goes "it's only God that will save this country" -- But that's how we get it all wrong. God is not partial. if HE were, we would have been qualifying for all world cups and AFCON and would have won the WC since... You don't plant oranges and expect mango. While others where investing time and money on football development, we've been busy doing something else and expecting miracles on matchday.

Don't forget we prayed against SA. so go on and pray again when we tackle Cameroon. The outcome will still be the outcome

soetanoreoluwa:
I got you... Am not saying is a fantastic player but still better than many goalkeepers we have at this moment....

I don't have issue for the coach to drop him ... All am saying is this... Is not cos someone made a "school boy"" error then we should finish his career with our mouth... We can clamour for him to be dropped not to destroy his career as if we have a personally issue with him..

Modify :Akpeyi is a okay good keeper and is better than most of the home base we have at this moment...

I was watching Npfl between 3sc and kastina Utd then you will know that we don't have quality goal keeper...

Is better we wake up to reality... The only mistake I can say the coaching crew made was not using the so called "best " in training camp during the friendly...

Bottom line... The coach knows the best...

If you want to wait till 70 mins cos you want to hear is a miracle working God..

Then

You might be shock to hear all we are saying give us more goals....

Happy weekend!!!

My brother. True talk!

Me I just want Rohr to succeed. Because I have respect for him and appreciate how he started. But going by our arrogance, I wont shed one tear if we are humiliated again. Personally I think the earlier you accept the reality of where you are presently, the better your chance of making progress. I think what Nigeria and Nigerians need is a reality check without sentiments.

We are not what we are claiming. We are down there in so many matters.. Even football. In the next CAF awards, I doubt we will win as much awards as we won last year. Going by our noise and population and our focus on JUST football, are we not suppose to be dominating Africa AT LEAST??

Mickael2:
Bros chill, 70th minute is what I am waiting for so we will start singing he is a miracle working God.

The fact that there are some fans who believe that Akpeyi deserves to even be a professional footballer leaves me in total shock I didn't even know what to type, some are even saying that Cameroon may not even get a shot on target, the same Cameroon that hassled Germany will not hit our target, are we Spain?

The same people are saying that retired players are no longer enough, some didn't even retire but we retired them because we are building something new. Okocha made mention of what a total overhaul did to them after the 2002(?) nations cup yet we haven't learnt from that, we still believe that a 32 year old has nothing to bring, that a 19 year old warming the bench in a top club has a lot more to offer than a 32 year old banging in goals in another team. Some will even ridicule a top goalkeeper just to prove a point. Me I have decided that I won't talk much again until Rohr releases his list, then if he has listened to these guys I will also not tak again until the 70th minute of that game

I'm making a case for a number 9 considering our next opponent, Cameroon. Judging with most recent form, Emenike is still productive. At least he has not been used recently.

Modified.

And please let's not go back to the SA match. My opinion has always been we lost MAINLY because South Africa has improved a lot.

Icon4s:
We need the experience of players who are still productive and prolific. Moses, Musa, Mikel, Onazi, Echiejile, Balogun and Interior can provide the experience we need in their respective positions.

We just need the youngsters to ride on their backs. The absence of 3 of the 7 I mentioned above is largely responsible for our loss to SA. All 7 played against Algeria and all the goals came from 2 of them.

The only young player I am not comfortable having in that team is Osimhen cos he IMO has not yet proven himself as a professional player. Others like Iheanacho, Kayode, Simon, Iwobi, Etebo, Ndidi, Awaziem and Shehu are rightly in the squad.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:05pm On Jul 28, 2017
I call that goals draught. Even the young players will experience it too. The fact is you need a good balance of youth and experience.
Emenike looks really good right now. Or is Osihmen banging goalshuh grin

Icon4s:
You and I know Emenike had his run And then stopped scoring.

We were patient and still allowed him more time to see if he could manage to pick up.
But he didn't.

We have moved on. We have younger strikers now whose careers are on the rise. We need to explore and exploit those.

To me Ighalo, Ideye, and Emenike are no-no.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:37pm On Jul 28, 2017
I've only mentioned Emenike throughout my NairalandSpan

How many goals did Emenike score in his peak?
