With our rich football history and accomplishments why don't we get well established football managers? Look at Senegal and Patrick Viera, Ivory coast and Hervé Renard. I read somewhere that Dwight Yorke wants to coach Ghana.

Nigeria as a big footballing nation,or perhaps the biggest footballing nation in Africa,
if we don't have some of our players doing well in some big clubs in Europe,it will be extremely difficult for us to dominate and command respect in Africa,because they won't respect and fear us,winning AFCON would become an uphill task.
These players need to understand this simple psychological factor and work harder to get themselves to bigger clubs.

Our boys are playing in good leagues, but they lack strong mentality and self belief.

I have an unpopular opinion that may ruffle feathers but i will say it nonetheless

If we want a thriving midfield, with good ball carriers and excellent passers with a keen mind for the game, we need to only go for players with proper academy background in European countries. The likes of Iwobi, Iroegbunam etc

These your naija boys learnt football via trial and error - playing on the streets and just mastering physicality and dribbling. They lack a proper football education and it shows when they have to play a tactically disciplined side or a top side

Things like:
When to pass
Mastering space and timing
How to go for tackles rightly
How to use the "third eye"
Properly playing with your back to the defense as a DM
How to correctly interpret the coach's instructions
ETC..

These boys don't know these things. It was pure talent and grace that brought them to Europe but now, they are failing. They lack proper football Education

If you think i am lying, how many CMs have we produced from Nigeria in the last 10 years that has gone on to be world renowned since Mikel Obi? And that's because Mikel at least is a product of a football academy which is pepsi football academy

The other ones you can't really trace their roots to proper education. So they lack intelligence and just play "anywhere belle face" footballe

You can blame Chelle all you want but these players can't give what they don't have. Personally, I'll say leave Iwobi and drop everybody else from that midfield entirely from the team. They have nothing to offer. The same goes for Bruno Onyeamechi whose head is big but his mind is little like that of a mentally-challenged kid

Calvin Bassey has completely outgrown Fulham, and it is a crime he is still at that club. He was by far the best player on that pitch today. None of the current Man United defenders can clean his boot. He is really growing by the day. He has been one of the most impressive Premier League defenders for me this season. I will definitely put in among the top 5 this season. This boy should be playing for league titles in the top 5 leagues. He should be playing for a big team in the Champions League.

I sincerely hope and pray you all are right about Osimhen breaking and surpassing Yekini's record. I hope to be proven wrong not because what I said about words isn't true but for Osimhen to be an exception because I wish Osimhen well.

Nevertheless what I said about words is not trifling. Those who are wise have drawn lessons from it, instead learning through experience. Speak only good about yourself.

When I raised this concern during the last AFCON about what Osimhen said about Yekini being "the greatest" goalscorer in the Super Eagles just when he was about to surpass Yekini's goal scoring feats in the Super Eagles, some of you said I was overthinking. I pointed out how he didn't score anymore goals in that Tournament after he said it. This was somebody who was scoring goals for fun and was about surpassing Yekini's record in that tournament. Now he is out of this fixture again due to recovery, but I really pray he surpasses Yekini's record.
The point is, this is an advise to anyone out there..mind what you say that concerns you because words aren't "mere words" whether good or bad. If you're a footballer or a public figure seeing this, don't allow journalists to corner you into saying any negative thing about yourself no matter the pressure, if you must respond only respond positive. Don't allow the feeling to appear "humble" to make you say something that will "keep you humble".
Humility is knowing that God is your source and your helper, while pride on the other hand is thinking you don't need anyone and you can do it all by yourself.

Most of us from minority tribes are detribalised and tend to think it is not but it is a major contributor. It breeds the following:
-lack of patriotism
-mistrust and loopsided appointment for which federal character and quota was introduced. This creates another issue of mediocrity and incompetence.
-it is our turn syndrome
-lackn of interest in controlling population growth sonas to have advantage in resource sharing and elections.
-seeing reforms as being targeted at your tribe no matter how noble the reform is.
