Our woes will be compounded should we have a run away leader in the group. If SA does well against other teams even if they lose to us we are not gonna make it.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 6:48pm On Jun 11
Osimhen was criticized for lack of goals. But no one can question his impact in other areas.

Goke7:

The same Osihmen we don finish for here? Abegi
And like I said much earlier I would have preferred paseiro taking all these hit than finidi who has finally made a bad case for local coaches

Same coach could only register 2 points after 2 games.

Let’s not forget Finidi didn’t have Osimhen, who was very instrumental to our AFCON run whether he scored or not.

Granted Finidi made bad choices in his selection, and maybe tactics as well.
Goke7:

The coaches that tried to instil the discipline and grind out the results we say they are playing negative football. We got to decide what we want
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 6:03pm On Jun 11
Well what is the mentally and attitude of Finidi.

There is a lot of factors to our bad performance, but I don’t get the attitude part.
Napoleon55:

Finidi is not capable of winning 2 out of 6 remaining matches especially with this same mentality and attitude.

And I'm almost certain that Osimhen won't be available for half of the remaining matches.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 6:00pm On Jun 11
Yes it will be a gamble to keep Finidi. We need a coach with that mentality and who can instill it on the players. Anything else is still a gamble.

Odunayaw:
It takes a coach with a win at all cost mentality actually and where we go find am
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 5:58pm On Jun 11
The players know themselves. It’s not about the fans. It’s about instilling discipline and promoting excellence.

Goke7:

but na we go shout if coach drop player wey we like o!
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 5:24pm On Jun 11
It’s a discipline issue. Even at their clubs they could do the same but lose their position etc. we need to run this SE like serious business and with high degree of professionalism. Inviting players that have no business in the team is in itself another distraction.

Goke7:

we cannot be training so-called European professionals on how to keep the ball na, it means we don't even have the players and that's where the problem lies in this philosophy that we have mentioned before, the materials are lacking.

None of the teams in our group is not susceptible to slipping at some point down the road. We just need a 100% record for our remaining matches and we will have a chance. We have the players at least, but can we pull it off?

Ye ye ye. No be foreign coach start the qualification problem? The NFF could have had their wish and we could still have been in this mess. Make una stop to worship anything that is white.

opes:
Wont blame NFF 100% because they wanted foreign coach but the pressure was too much on them to appoint local handler. They were even threathened with a lawsuit if foreign coach is employed.. i wonder why their interest (stakeholders and influencers) are always on super eagles, our female teams are doing exceptionally fine.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 2:30pm On Jun 11
Can Finidi win us our remaining 6 matches? Na the koko question.

lbrichman2:

Very tight..
Even if we win all our games, we still need other results to go our way ...

But we should do our part and win our remaining matches
Warrior mentality is needed
Zero room for errors or mistakes

We must become that resolved and put together a Man City-esque end of season winning run..
Then hope other teams drop points
Anything other than that, were out

We put ourselves in this situation unfortunately
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 10:29pm On Jun 10
We need to win our remaining 6 games, and after that it’s still not guaranteed

No its colonial mentality because all along we do not believe in providing our own solutions but keep looking to the West. It is colonial mentality intertwined with inferiority complex.the problem with the black man is that the black man COLLECTIVELY are not aware of their potentials

Mujtahida:

Hahaha forget colonial mentality. 60 years on your own we never fit do better. It's not colonial mentality that is our problem. We are incompetent. Oyibo pass us. Simple. The earlier we come to terms with this reality, the better for us.

Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 8:38pm On Jun 10
Na Oliseh fit us. Knack better sense if u no get respect. We can’t keep living with colonial mentality.

Mujtahida:

Few days ago I was like foreign or local coach is not the criteria, quality is. I take it back.

Foreign coaches are better for us not in terms of competence but at the level of perception and psychology. We believe in the white man. That's why our players respect them and diss our local coaches.

Abeg they should go and get a white man. We are not yet mature to believe in our own.

Well I’m only saying Peseiro based in his AFCON exploits. At least he would have given us a better defense vs Benin. And there would still have been hope now. As things stand, I no put out hope.

No they sacked Rohr for Peseiro
Bazkanova:

Finidi is deceiving people with fake "free flowing football" to hide his cluelessness.
NFF sacked Rohr for this. Mind boggling bullshit.

No be lie. We downgraded. Peseiro started the qualification problem But he would have been better after finding his defensive mojo. But what would Peseiro’s game have been like without Osimhen?

andrewbaba44:
We Dey manage Pajero instead of make we go for upgrade we go for downgrade ,we carry ile kewu man say nah coach

I was hoping we could improve post Peseiro..But I have to say I was wrong. We for manage Peseiro defensive play. At the end of the day NFF we’re not serious about keeping him.

He spent the most time winning free kicks “and this run opened the way for Fisayo Bashiru”. Which run?

Granted he should be given some credit for our equalizer for his hold up play contribution

Onuachu had his time and services. This game has so many problems. Finidi hit the panick button.

BascoVanVeli:
Finidi's only mistake was listening to the hype and dropping Onuachu
