Having conducted some personal research, coupled with personal experiences and first hand accounts of close compadres, I present to you, : EIGHT REASONS YOU SHOULD PICK UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN The University of Ilorin was founded in 1975 and sited in the ancient city of Ilorin. Over the span of time, this erudite institution has built a tower of achievements beneath its name. Besides that, the institution boasts of alumni leading the various sectors of the nation. Without further rigmarole, here are the eighth reasons you should pick UNILORIN. 1. UNINTERUPTED ACADEMIC CALENDAR: After its pullout from ASUU in 2005, the University charted a new course of stability under the leadership of its then vice chancellor, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. This new academic strategy made Unilorin become the only federal university that runs its degree programme in three years and eight months. A convocation is thereafter oganised and certificates distributed. University of Ilorin is probably the only federal or state institution that it’s graduands takes original copy of certificate to NYSC camp. (Others bring statement of result) 2. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CULTISM: The period between 2006 to 2010 could be refered to as “the days of the great purge”. Over 300 students were expelled while others fled the state due to the long unresting arm of the law. It was real cleansing that made the campus and off-campus become a safer place 3. GENERAL SOCIAL DISCIPLINE: this attribute probably earned the university the nickname “glorified secondary school” among critics. They try to curtail the excesses that characterizes some uncouth Nigerian youths. Indecent dressing, exam malpractise, vandalism hooliganism and others have no place in the institution. 4. HEALTHCARE SERVICES On admission, the school clinic conducts a medical examination on it's students to assertain their records. Thereafter, sick students can admission and drugs dispensed for free. If in need of surgery, students pay only 15,000 while school shoulders the rest 5.FREE PRESS AT THE UNIVERSITY FM: Like the congressional law of immunity, students are free to challenge school policies and get a reply from the vice chancellor and other top school officials while airing their views on the school radio. This is made possible through the Unilorin 89.3 FM 6.HIGH NUMBERS OF PHD’s AND PROFS ON LECTURING ROLL. The university has lecturers constantly working to improve themselves. It’s rare to see a lecturer still bearing a ‘Mister’. 7.ACADEMIC QUALITY: the first year students are subjected to a rigorous academic routine to weed out the lazy or inept students. A cumulative grade point of 2.0 is set as knife mark. Those who couldn’t make the cut are sent home (a slang pularised as “Face Tanke”). The school's drive for ICT is evident in the distribution of tablet computers to first year students and connecting the whole school to a wireless internet service. 8.LOCATION AND PROMIXITY: unlike other popular federal and state owned schools that buildings and urbanization has encroached upon their landscape, Unilorin is well situated a corner of the town, out of earshot to distractions and incursion. Those who have been to the citadel will attest to the distance between the gate and the classrooms. Joseph Omole @joe_omofred

Forget the graphs and the satatisics. Nigerian are one of the most intelligent people in the world. Too intelligent for their own good. However, Nigerian needs little tweaking and you will see the genius in us unraveled. Moreover, this data is gathered based on literacy level, which is always against African odds. Don't forget the brain drain too ! |
Hmmmm.... Only a University of Ilorin graduate can cook up something this beautiful and educating. Truly better by far... |
DeadlyViper000:Just what I was thinking. For a Fulani girl to be this robust, it means alot of protein has been pumped into her (no pun intended). That aside, why this this timely release happen just when Nigerians are throwing query stones at the President's window Finally, the myopic citizens will have something else to say, other than "where is Mr President? " what a staged distraction ! |
It's one thing to know how to write, it's another to know how to read. I took my time to read this guy's work and saw clearly why he won. His work is not that great because it lacks melody. However, he simply played the ace card to beat his opponents. He tackled a contemporary issued " Same sex marriage ". Then he went for the idea, condemning all actions taken against gay people in Nigeria. This ultimately won the heart of the judges who are probably gay or indifferent about LGBT's. congratulations to him. |
it's been a while someone actually posted something genuinely useful for mind growth on this forum. OP, I appreciate the time and effort you are investing. Waiting for more updates, probably something on breach of time contract between a customer and vocational workers. |
Waiting to hear what people have to say. I fall in the same pool too. A graduate of University of Ilorin currently serving in Enugu. However, I think the first thing you should have gotten is an advanced knowledge in computer. It's like the standard requirement these days Who else knows something.... |
Good day people. I'm currently in Nssuka, Enugu State: and I need the Services of a professional software designer, web developer and even a hacker. If you are an amateur, also feel free to contact me on 0.80.2985.2333. |

11. Re-loot a returned loot. Nigeria. guess what ? you don't have to rejoice that your common wealth which was looted by a military dictator two decades ago has been returned. Simply because it's going to be re-shared among the new government. you can simply say that the money changed hands/home. From Switzerland to Dubai. And it's purely legal ! |
GasAndOilTheory:"Good riddance to Buhari's rubbish" i don't mean it though. you just provoked my creativity. lol |
That's one hell of a problem with our local girls. The cultural orientation they grew up to made them believe they will always be approached. Hence, they lack communication skills make an approach. They have always been "talked at" not "talked with ". Moreover, while the guys are enriching their socialisation, knowledge and communication skills, they are mostly focusing on their body beauty. However, what upset yours truly is the fact that i approach you, you were silent, i took you on numerous dates, you were mostly silent, we hit courtship, you didn't find your voice, then we marry, and you suddenly turned Oprah overnight. Commenting on every issue and wanting to be heard at all costs Ps... I'm desperately looking for a girl, just as an intellectual companion. nothing more. At least, she won't bore me while spending my money at the Chinese restaurant, |
eyeview:Eyeview, make you shine your eye well well. Dudafa is from Bayelsa |
the joke is not only dry, but rude. you just brought out the shallowness that characterises the average Nigerian |
Please tell me it's free |
McSterling:After McSterling's comment, i don't expect anyone to go about beating a wooden horse. He has drawn the most logical and philosophical endline to the discussion. Rest your oars now, or should i say your keypads ;-) |
AnalyticEngine:No, baptismal card is not a proof that he's not a potential robber? but the catholic church is one and universal. the information on the card can make the priest know who to contact, if the need arises, to vouch for your integrity. Personally, mine has opened doors for me, including a hassle free visa. Though it's sad that the priest let his fear of the world get the best of his faith, but the city is a treacherous place. Your faith is tied to God, don't let an unpleasant experience rob you of it |
''we know your likes'' tangles up their rescue rope and blames the world for being unfair |
what are your prices like ?, |
Finally, somebody is seeing the light. As dark as people paint game punters, many of them exhibits characters and traits that is needed in a model entrepreneur. They plan ahead, develop alternative plans to combat unforeseen contingencies. Much more, they have an incredible amount of faith. Faith that can literally spin mountains. Moreover, rather punters than robbers |
How much did you pay your younger junior brother to carry the placard |
Whoever you are ..... Wherever you are ..... I'll find you, and i'll give you a handshake. 7 & 11 nailed all the Nigerian undergraduate |
