Living in the US illegally is like a death sentence in my view. You would just be existing here not living your life. I don't know how all these Mexicans cope, anyway they have a lot of family here so guess it won't be that bad for them. As for Nigerians, living illegally is a no no. Life is too short to live like that. You can't drive, can't get any meaningful job, can't even visit your country. Is that one life? What's the essence of life if you can't do all these. People that live illegally I can't even imagine the trauma they are passing through. It is not for the faint hearted.

Companies in developed nations don't give employees drivers. It's either you brother is lieing or may be you did not understand what he said.

For some reasons I can't mention the name of the company, it's one of the top mobile and web payments company in the state.

If you migrate legally, living abroad is fine. If you over stay your visa and still find a way of legalizing your stay well good for you. But living as an illegal alien in the US. To me it's absolutely not worth it. Life is too short to subject ones self to such a life. You make money and send to Nigeria yet you can't go to Nigeria to enjoy it. Then what's the point? You can't live a good life as an illegal in the US.

chrisdavinci:

Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 1:35pm On Apr 27, 2017
No it's not too early and I don't think you have a problem with the employment ish as you just completed your NYSC. It shld not be a problem.
chrisdavinci:
Hi, you guys are doing a great job. I have been following the discussions here for quite a while now. I was admitted to Texas A&M University-Kingsville to study Chemical Engineering(MSc), was given $8k+ scholarship. I made the necessary payments already and I have my I-20 with me. Filled the DS-160 as well as paid the visa application fee. School resumption is Aug 10 and I have plans to schedule and interview next month is that too early? Also, I just passed out from nysc and currently unemployed can that affect my visa approval?
looking forward to your feedback guys.

It's possible but why did you blur out the name of the school. The school could be part of the problem too. MBA Is not a program to do in just anytype of school. Anyway give more details about the school.
duduafri:

VO: How much is your monthly income
ME: 373k

VO: Why is your wife not coming with you
ME: My wife is not coming with me because of her job, she is a banker and currently focusing on growing her career. Besides, we dont see any reason why she should come with me since I have plans to be visiting Nigeria whenever the school is on break.

VO: Sorry your Visa is not approved.... Gave me 214b

My concerns: I noticed she asked me questions about where my spouse lives, although they visited US earlier this year and they are back since Feb 25th.

When I checked her i94 status there was no depature date on her form. Could it be the VO is doubting if they are still in the US?

Your contribution would be highly appreciated.

Just that you can't get much details about the school
anodebeanthony:
What is the negative part of school not being ranked?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 5:17pm On Apr 26, 2017
If I may ask. If you don't have free accomodation around DMV why do you want to school in the area? These are expensive areas. Anyway, for scholarship levels, try Howard in DC and Morgan in Maryland. They are kind of like black schools so they got lots of funding.
anodebeanthony:
I don't have free accommodation, I need affordable school in Maryland, Virginia and Washinton DC, if possible school that can give me a scholarship within those areas.
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 5:05pm On Apr 26, 2017
DC is a very expensive city. Do u have free accomodation? If yes, try other universities like Howard. But Howard is not cheap too Buh at least u have a change of getting scholarship.
anodebeanthony:
Thank you. Yes, the tuition is affordable. So what do you advise? If there is any school with affordable tuition please suggest and if there is any school that will give me a scholarship when I get admission please suggest.
Thank you once again
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 4:47pm On Apr 26, 2017
The school is not ranked but tuition is very affordable compared to other schools in DC area. Well I guess you can try, but not much is known about the school.
anodebeanthony:
A lot, I like the school but am not getting enough information about the undergraduate program from their site and the school is not responding to my email. Please if you are in that school please drop your contact let's talk.

Please can someone answer me?

Bad school. Lost accreditation Sept 2016. Doubt you would be given visa with that school. Why don't u take your time and look for better schools in VA. Try George Mason university. They are both in fairfax.
kayvine4u:
hello house,

has anyone received F1 visa recently with a VIU 1_20 form (aka virginia International University). Are they still blacklisted in the embassy, cos i know their standard has improved.
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 3:43pm On Apr 26, 2017
Post full transcript. The problem could come from any angle.
duduafri:
Hello House,

I was refused F1 today based on 214B. I have visited the US twice and my family have also been to the US once. we have all returned form our previous visits.

During my interview, I noticed the VO asked me why my wife isnt going with me and I answered her that she wouldnt be coming with me because of her Job. she is currently focusing on her career and since i have plans to be visiting whenever the school is break.

After the interview, I researched on what 214b means and this prompted my to check our i-94 records online. I noticed that my wife's and son's departure dates were not recorded online and they have returned to Nigeria since March 4th.

Here are my questions?

1. How do I overcome 214b rejection despite being to the US twice and returned without overstaying.
2. What do we need to do to address the incomplete I-94 travel record for my wife and son as their exit date wasnt captured online.

Your prompt feedback would be appreciated.

Regards,

I did not evaluate my transcript. I just sent official copies directly from my school.
aamstih:
Pls if the schools one is applying only make mentions of 'official transcripts' and no mention of WES, does this imply that transcript sent by one's alma mater and not a transcript evaluated by WES would suffice? Thanks
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 10:45pm On Apr 25, 2017
Some schools accepts original transcripts without evaluation by WES and the rest.
Mekurexx:
Official transcripts means an evaluated transcripted that is sealed when delivered. You will have to evaluate your transcript either by WES or IERF. Then the evaluatiion agency sends the sealed transcript to the school you are applying to

So this is going to be my last post on this.. and that's because I need to give back.. to this thread..
First of all I need to make you understand that I am no novice.. I work for a top four audit firm and I own my own start up.. so I know the A-Z about loans..

Haven said that.. prodigy finance does not work like finance institution.. per say .. their modus operandi is focused on providing funding for intl students..

Alums of different skols requiring safe returns form most of their investors..

They have controls in place to ensure that you use the money strictly for skol not biz and all.. so disbursements will be made thru your skol..

I know atleast 3 guys who went to Wharton that work with the Nigerian office of top 4 consulting firm all financed by prodigy..

I won't put up my letter and or terms here cos I really have nufin to prove..

But anyway if someone offers you 100k dollar loan to study at the best universities in the world with a payback period of 15-20 years.. why are you bothered as too why there is no collateral.. except u do not plan to pay back.. thus demolishing your credit record and goodwill

For your information almost all mba students are financed by loans..

Oh less I forget.. don't just spew ignorance from your mouth on something you know nufin about.. do your research.. and stop spreading hearsay.. #factsovereverything
This piece is for all those who are zealous to change their careers via an MBA or msc but cannot due to paucity of funds...

Had similar issue. One school sent me a mail that the grade of a particular course looks unclear. I had to get my school to scan and send the school a copy via email.

In Donald Trumps voice "You are looking for trouble". Not possible, if you do not resume school the school would report you and your visa would be canceled. You would need to exist the country within days.

Hello guys, am new here... Please I wanna ask a question

I intend to apply for an undergraduate program at University of Bridgeport, USA... get the student VISA and and defer the admission and work for a year or two before start schooling. Is it possible? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks.

You are the one fooling your self. Obvious Zombie. GEJ that has been out of office for over two years. So $50 million dollars has just been lying idel for two years, only zombies can belive that. Take it or leave it, This cash was released in this administration and owned by someone close to Buhari. That's the only reson for such stupid grand cover up. Your guess is good as mine, who would this administration stick out its neck for? Only Amechi.

Stop fooling and lying to yourself, the funds was approved by GEJ and released under GEJ.

And you belive them? Nigeria is finished. GEJ is corrupt no doubt but leave him out of this. This cash came from the CBN in this administration.

GEJ approved the funds and operation that was funded and started under GEJ and GEJ is yet to deny the claim.

Worry about your own flawed brain.

Rubbish. Lies lies lies. What nonsense covert operation in Nigeria? Are they chasing Assad or Putin? Nigerian is not USA, Isreal, China or Iran to be carrying out any covert operation that requires such funds. Besides covert funds are usually marked and most are even fake mixed with real money. Only those hypnotized by this government would belive such a story.
ocelot2006:

Covert Agencies around the world keep slush funds to finance covert/black ops around the world. The National Intelligence Agency is no different. With respect to this saga, i think Magu just overstepped the EFCC's boundaries and heads may roll.

This article is the reason boko haram still full ground; there is absolutely no synergy between our security agencies.
Magu could have simply stayed execution, secured the asset whilst seeking further clarification from the NIA, since the NIA DG personally tried to stop him.
Why did the EFCC let the media in since the NIA were potentially involved ?

This is hogwash and bull crap. The only covert operation that would require such crazy money in peace times is the operation Election 2019. Now it becoming more and more plausible that ameachi owns the apartment in question. Only someone close to the president deserves such grand cover up.
