Economics. $1665 per credit hour and my total hours is 30. So 1665 * 30= 49850. Most Nigerians are not oblivious to the fact that H1-B is getting increasingly difficult.

That's the average annual cost $65k - then 2 year graduate course ..mulitply that by 2.

This is a ranked school not even one of the highly ranked.

What course were you admitted for, please share. Your perculiar low tuition is very interesting ..others may benefit from that information.

Thanks

I would be going to George Washington Uni DC. I understand its close to AU.

Please guys, anyone going to American University Washington DC this fall.??
Travel / Re: The New Prospects For US Foreign Students - The New Truth. by joeluv: 3:06pm On Jun 12, 2017
What do you categorize as highly ranked? I Wld be attending GWU and my tuition for first year is $29k and second year roughly 20k and I understand I can get schools that are way cheaper. Your $100k estimation is still too much in my opinion. Besides a lot of Nigerians get one form of scholarship like I did. Anyway thanks for the HI-B info.
Goldenboy007:

For highly ranked school you can hardly get a graduate course worth the career - for $50,000, MSc or MBA. Please take note of what I said " Highly Ranked Schools" Except you are In-State student. There are very few exceptions. Rutgers has its MSc for $17k per semester excluding fees...multiplied by 4 semesters. When you add the fees then you are looking at almost $19k per semester.

Just wondering how the family members of this criminal would feel, to think this is someone's child and husband. Such a shameless wicked man.
Travel / Re: The New Prospects For US Foreign Students - The New Truth. by joeluv: 12:41am On Jun 12, 2017
So your generalization of $100k is based on MBA tuition. Well for Msc, a two year course usually ranges from 30-50k.
Goldenboy007:

These information are available online. Most schools require you to pay every session or per semester - For a graduate course that cost $52000 per session and you have 2 sessions? or $20000 per semester and you have 4 semesters. US schools mostly have Spring and Fall Semesters except those that added Summer and Winter Intersession. (Graduate course). Depends if you are in-state or out of state.

This is a breakdown for Rutgers in NJ - 24 months MBA - Probably 4 semesters

Rutgers Ranking

#30 in Public Colleges
#67 in Research Universities
#65 in the region

Tuition

Below is a breakdown of fees and tuition charges for both full-time (Traditional MBA) and part-time (Flex MBA) students.

Full-time:

Tuition – Out of State Residents – $20,314 (per semester)
Campus Fee – $758.50
Computer Fee – $153.50
NJPIRG Fee (optional) – $11.20
School Fee – $349.25
International Student SEVIS Fee – $125

Part-time:

Campus Fee (per semester) – $255
Computer Fee – $71 – $146
NJPIRG Fee (optional) – $5.50

I had my MBA in US (my tuition was lower as a US citizen resident) so I am familiar with this information.

Thanks for your response, I have tried to maintain consistency in the I-20 and DS-160. But will like to enquire whether being sponsored by a business name rather than an individual has any negative impact on your visa application (interview inclusive)
Travel / Re: Canada First Timer by joeluv: 9:32pm On Jun 09, 2017
If you get married put in mind your spouse visa can take up to one year before it comes out. So you have lots of time to learn a skill before you travek. Your are still young, you can also go back to school when u enter Canada. All the best.

i have this problem I would love to share here, tough some might not consider it to be one,
I'm about getting married to my girlfriend,a nurse in Canada, and she ll be coming to Nigeria anytime soon so we would go back together, but the problem is I'm a school drop out with no degree, and I'm wondering how to make this right,
Considering the fact that I have plans of my own and wouldn't want her to keep providing for us or maybe my family down, cus that's normal when a family member leaves for abroad,

I need to know how to go about it being that's it's my first time out of Nigeria

I need to know what I can really do out there without a degree to make enough for everyone (though I have plans of going enrolling my self in school there when I get enough) apart from the little I've saved.

I need to know what I need to prepare or maybe learn before leaving....
Please I really need help on advise from you guys, God bless

It's dangerous and totally not worth it, u Wld just waste your life chasing paper that you might never get. As per job levels, Even Italians them self never see job. It's tough in Italy and being a Nigerian Wld make it tougher because of the bad reputation we have.

Family / Re: Irish Woman Devastated After Nigerian Husband Dumped Her Destroys Shop (Video) by joeluv: 2:52pm On Jun 04, 2017
Nigerian men shld better stop this nonsense. If u know u are marrying fr papers better find a woman u can tolerate and live with for a long time. Simply accept it as your destiny and don't just leave whn yr papers come out. If u must leave, pls leave because really the marrage is not working and the woman is unbearable. As for the woman, she has obviously lost her mind, very unstable and heartbroken. Madam cnythia as a lady, she shld know its not easy. She shld have called the lady aside for a woman to woman talk.

I contacted the school and the said that is my correct major, guess I Wld have to stick with that. Criminal justice and computer science is too different. Good u got a new 1-20
Gee7733:

I will advice you send a mail to the school to send you another 1-20, I have similar issue cz applied for criminal justice and the 1-20 I received yesterday stated computer science. I sent an email to the school and they have sent another I-20. Don't take chances.

Hi everyone, I just got to know about this trend and it has been so helpful. God bless you all for the great work you are doing here.

Please tell me the name of such app. Thanks

No you can't do that anymore... You must upload it online and still take a hard copy to the embassy. If you're having issues with the size, there are apps on play store that can perfectly resize it to the US size. Regards

Am having difficulty uploading my passport photo on the DS-160. Must it be uploaded? The last time I went for a US visa interview I was unable to upload my passport so I simply carried a passport photo with me and I had no issues. Can I still do that?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 3:38am On Jun 01, 2017
Am yet to fill the DS 160 but surely I would put applied economics. So Wld def cross check with the coordinator.
femi321:
This might not be an issue if Business/managerial economics is what you filled on your DS form but if not, you might have to change it. It is always better to be consistent, let your i20 be consistent with your ds form to avoid stories that touch. On another note, did you fill applied economics application? You might want to check with your school to be certain why there is discrepancy. Your grad cord should give a better explanation
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 3:37am On Jun 01, 2017
Ok thanks. I Wld still cross check with the coordinator.
LagosismyHome:

Not at all...such things dont matter so no confusion there as long as you verify with the school that when you resume yours is applied economics ... . Beside both fall under the same course family.
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 3:00am On Jun 01, 2017
Please oo. I got my I-20 and my major is stated as business/managerial economics. While am going for Applied economics. Is this generalization the norm? Like will this cause confusion in the embassy.
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by joeluv: 4:30pm On May 31, 2017
For me the first school I applied to was a top school and I was admitted. Then I applied to a safe school with the hope of getting better funding. The so called safe school did not even give me admission talk more of funding grin grin Safe schools are not that safe, so to me if you have an ok profile apply to both top and safe schools.
Helkayklassic:
