Education › Re: Cherubim And Seraphim Church To Establish University At Omu Aran Kwara by joepepsy(m): 7:45pm On Dec 27, 2018 |
eli-jah!!!!!!!!!! HigherEd: The proposed university(Moses Orimolade University) was being spearheaded and would be financed by the C&S Movement Church Worldwide. Adeoti described the church’s intervention in education sectors as very timely, saying the current tertiary institutions in the country, especially universities, were inadequate.
He said that they could not match the exponential growth of the country’s population. According to him, there is the urgent need for religious organisations and well-meaning individuals and groups to complement government’s efforts through massive investment in the education sector. The monarch advised the C&S Church leaders to consider making the proposed institution a specialised university for ease of acquisition of its official licence from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The monarch expressed the community’s appreciation to the church’s authorities for the honour and recognition of locating the institution in their town. He said: “Though C&S church members are happy today, but the entire community members of Omu-Aran are happier that this is happening in our town. “There is no doubt that the existing number of universities in the country cannot match the explosion in the population of Nigerians. “I promise you all here that my chiefs and I will continue to monitor the progress of work for its speedy completion,” he said. Pastor Thomas Fakile, the Chairman Planning Committee of the proposed university, said that the project was informed by the desire to address the inadequate institutions in the country.
“The issue is that in the next 15 years, the population of Nigeria is likely to double its present population according to the United Nations (UN) statistics. “If the universities do not grow correspondingly with the population, it means we will have problems in the education sector,” he said. Rev. Samuel Abidoye, the Spiritual Leader of the church, said that the church would channel its available resources toward an accelerated completion of the project. He added that the church would spend about N300 million on the college’s building project that would last 18 months to complete. (NAN)

Tears of joy flowed on the faces of the devastated victims of the recent fire outbreak at Ugboezeji and Ugboye in Abakpa Nike, Enugu, which burnt down the apartments of three widows, those of two other families and shops belonging to four furniture makers, a yam seller and bean-cake (Akara) fryer, respectively, when Gov. Politics › Re: Don't Blame The Nigerian System For Your Failure Or Else..- Atiku Attacks Buhari by joepepsy(m): 2:31pm On Dec 26, 2018 |
"corruption is fighting back" stephanie11: @POLITICSNGR
Below is a statement from PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, made available to PoliticsNGR;
"My attention has been drawn to a statement by President Muhammadu Buhari on the occasion of a Christmas homage paid on him by members of the Federal Capital Territory Community in which he blamed his inability to fight corruption on the Nigerian system.
According to the President, his administration is slow in fighting corruption because the system is slow.
My immediate response to this is to commend President Buhari for admitting that he has failed in fighting corruption. The President has just corroborated Transparency International, whose latest Corruption Perception Index shows that Nigeria is more corrupt today than it was under the previous administration, having moved 12 places backwards in the CPI, from 136 in 2014 to 148 this year.
But my point of departure from the President is in blaming his failure on the system. I disagree. The system has challenges, yes, but where there is political will, the system can make progress.
I was Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 and we used that same system to speedily convict no less a personality than an Inspector General of Police, and several others including cabinet ministers and other high officials.
Mr. President, the problem with your anti-corruption war is not the system. You are the problem!
The system allows you to arrest, try and convict your former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who was fingered in a major corruption case, but you chose to let him go Scot free and you demonstrated your tolerance for his corruption by giving him a prominent role in your re-election campaign and recently welcoming him to the Presidential Villa with open arms.
The system allowed you to arrest, try and convict Abdulrasheed Maina, the biggest ever alleged thief in our civil service history, who is suspected of looting the pensions of millions of aged Nigerians. Yet you chose not to go that route, preferring instead to recall him, reinstate and double promote him while giving him armed guards to move about.
The system allows you to probe the $25 billion NNPC contracts awarded without due process, but you chose to bury the matter under the carpet, hoping the Nigerian people will forget about that grand scale alleged looting exposed by a leaked memo from a member of your cabinet.
Finally, nothing in the system stops you from telling Nigerians who owns the billions found in an Ikoyi apartment.
Based on the above statement of facts, I will not allow you to to make Nigeria the scapegoat for your failure. Your failure is personal, and not national.
If you could go abroad to insult Nigerian youths as lazy, why did you go to Paris to praise a governor who was caught red-handed receiving bribes on camera?
The system did not stop the EFCC from charging the opposition Governor of Akwa-Ibom, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, as a co-accused in the case involving the NBA Chairman, Mr Paul Usoro (SAN). Contrast this with the treatment meted out to Governor Umar Ganduje of the ruling All Progressive Congress.
Besides, your excuse is deceptive, because you have staunchly resisted restructuring. If you really believed that the system is the problem, you would have embraced restructuring.
Unfortunate as your admitted failure in the war on corruption is, it is your economic policy that is the greater failure. Your lack of ideas and your politicisation of the corruption war has made your administration fight legitimate businesses and the opposition.
I might add that it is actions such as this that have led to an unprecedented capital flight which has caused joblessness and made Nigeria the world headquarters for extreme poverty under your watch."

Nigeria Amaka. LastDance: This is not about igbo. They are Nigerians and are all legends in Nigeria entertainment industry. We as Nigerians are proud of them. stop relating everyone to tribalism. How can Nigeria grow as one when everywhere on Nairaland is filled with Igbo amaka.
The truth must be told, The yorubas, the Hausas and those from south south will not in anywhere be found shouting and praising their notable men and women on nairaland. It is the igbos that are fond of shouting igbo amaka all over Nairaland, thereby indirectly promoting tribalism.
The truth is bitter but the igbos online or some igbos online are tribal nuisance.
You are still the reason why tribalism grows in nairaland.
I am from delta state and i am not blind to see that the yorubas and hausas are more loving and free of tribalism, unlike the igbos.

We don't need prayers we need to use our brain. Dee60: Nigeria and Nigerians need prayers. One presidential candidate is said to be slow and lacking in ideas but he is giving looters a tough time. The other presidential candidate is said to have some ideas but some people point to his past misdeeds and want to conclude that he cant be trusted. There are several other candidates who grossly lack political base. Some of them do not even have candidates in many positions. What kind of thing is this? We have PVC but we are not sure who to use it for! May be the one alleged to have participated in looting can earn some trust by declaring his past loots and returning some of them! Or maybe the one that is said to be slow can pick up some action and also announce some fresh ideas (like re-structuring!). People, instead of screaming and abusing yourselves over B or A, why dont you ponder and pray, may be there is a C or an M we should be voting for? This great country deserves better. Yet, no nation is greater that the greatness of her people. Great people make a great nation. Poor people make a poor nation. Corrupt people make a corrupt nation and idealess people make an idealess nation! And so on! If you think our only problem is that of leadership wait till you drive on Lagos roads, where you will meet selfish citizens, mannerless drivers, and ruthless danfo operators. They are all screaming - Dont cross my path! Travel to sane nations and see how people are trying so hard to be polite and kind on the road! Actually, when you read the comments on social media, you will realize that our politicians are quite smart. They know so well that they have little or nothing to offer (they just seem to like power for the sake of it!), so they play on the gullibility of the people, by promising them what they possibly cannot deliver. One says I will reduce the price of fuel to N45, yet the people cannot ask - How? The other says, I will restructure, and the people wont bother to ask - How and into what? We need prayers. |

Can I hug you? hopefulLandlord: After independence, in order to build a great nation, each country went to work. But in Nigeria, after independence, our people went to pray and fast. So, while we were praying, Malaysia came here and took our palm seedlings and built a great factory of it. While we were praying, Singapore went into investment in technology. While we were praying, India went into ICT. While we were praying, China went to massive industrialization. While we were shouting Allah Alakuba! UAE went into massive infrastructural development. While we were binding and casting Lucifer, Japan went into technological development. While we were speaking in tongues, Denmark went into education of her citizens. While we were mounting big speakers in our places of worship, USA was mounting man on the moon.
After our prayers, God, being a wise God decided to reward us according to our labour. Since those that went into industrialization, technology, infrastructural development, ICT, education etc have been rewarded accordingly. It's only wise God rewards us with our efforts in prayers. That's why today, Nigerian pastors are competing in building the biggest churches.
That's why there are more prayer houses and worship places than hospitals and schools. That's why people rush to prayer houses for medical and business solutions instead of hospitals. That's why we don't do business proposals before jumping into business since we are going to back it up with prayers. And when it collapse, we blame devil. That's why it's a sin to say anything negative about pastors and imams. That's why our pastors don't consider the opinion of engineers while building and blame devil when building collapse. That's why faith in God replaces building pillars and when it collapse we blame it on Lucifer. That's why our pastors are making sure they plant church branches instead of schools in every streets in Nigeria. That's why we always wait for gods to do that which ability to accomplish we already have in us. That's why we want our teachers to labour on earth and go to heaven for their rewards. Nigeria is a prayer loving, god fearing nation. Religion has taken the place of technology, infrastructure, education and all. When we are traveling, we ignore all the necessary road requirements, servicing of our vehicles and pray. And, once we pray, we can put a half fit vehicle on the road and blame our step mother or mother in law if anything goes wrong. That's why there are more people dying on our roads. Because, we pray and fast and leave everything to God when we have all we need to survive and build a nation....... I hope it made sense to you |

All these cabal dem be spirit? During Jonathan's regime cabal buhari regime cabal dem no get name? Ebullience: The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has refuted claims that some cabal in Aso Rock have hijacked the campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari.
There are reports that a cabal has hijacked the campaign and that there was an intense plot to relegate members of the APC National Working Committee, NWC, in the scheme of things.
But in a swift reaction, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, who spoke with Vanguard, said it was not possible for someone to hijack the party’s campaigns.
He said, “Hijacked by who? If they hijacked it, to do what? Can they campaign without the president? Can they campaign without the party?
“We are all working together and there is no issue. Very shortly, the campaign council will be announced and campaigns will start.
“Election is February 16 and I keep telling people that campaigns are not all about rallies.
“There are several platforms of engagement with the voters. Many other aspects are ongoing. Our activities are ongoing.
“Yesterday, the president commissioned the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport.
“That is campaign to show that the same country that was not working is now working. That is what Nigerians are going to vote for in February.
“Nigerians are travelling this season, they will see activities going on on the roads. The roads that were not free for several hours, they are now going to be spending fewer hours.
“That is part of campaign. It is for people to go and see improvements and see possibilities and see that their country is now working.
“We are going to do rallies across the country. We are a party that is so proud of our achievements and we are very confident that our achievements are speaking for us already.”
