http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/06/northerners-leave-niger- In response to the Octobe 1 ultimatum quit notice given to the Igbo by Coalition of Northern Youth Groups the Niger Delta militants have also asked the northerners to leave their region before October 1. In a joint statement released on Friday, the coalition of Niger Delta militants said they will declare the independence of the region on October 1. Militant The communiqué signed to this effect by ‘General’ John Duku (Niger Delta Watchdogs and Convener: Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators), ‘General’ Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers), ‘General’ Osarolor Nedam (Niger Delta Warriors), and ‘Major-Gen.’ Henry Okon Etete (Niger Delta Peoples Fighters), ‘Major-Gen.’ Asukwo Henshaw (Bakassi Freedom Fighters), ‘Major-Gen.’ Ibinabo Horsfall (Niger Delta Movement for Justice), ‘Major-Gen.’ Duke Emmanson (Niger Delta Fighters Network), and ‘Major-Gen.’ Inibeghe Adams (Niger Delta Freedom Mandate). “A coalition of the Niger Delta militants met today in Port Harcourt to review the recent call by the Arewa Youths groups that the Ndigbo should vacate all the Northern states within three months,” it read. “We see the declaration by Arewa Youths as a declaration which the northern elders, leaders, political elite, security heads from the North and governors were fully aware of. “We demand 100 per cent control of our resources. We demand that the Federal Government should hand over all oil blocs owned by northerners to Niger Delta indigenes. All the companies operating in such oil blocs/wells should vacate within three months.” “The Federal Government should immediately relocate NNPC and all the offices that have to do with oil/gas sector back to Niger Delta states and immediately replace the Group Managing Director with an indigene of Niger Delta,” the communique further read. “All northern indigenes working in NNPC and any other board that has anything to do with oil/gas should be sacked with immediate effect. “We demand an independent and sovereign Republic of Niger Delta. We are tired of living with the North under Nigeria. We are tired of the President’s sentiments against the Niger Delta people. “The President can have time to receive the Chibok girls but could not have time to meet with the representatives of the Niger Delta agitators. Our money has been used to fund Boko Haram, a problem created by the Northerners in order to use it as conduit pipe to siphon the resources of Niger Delta. “On October 1, 2017 we shall declare our independence come rain, come shine. We shall take our destiny in our hands and free ourselves from the slavery of the North as they are tired of one Nigeria. “From October 1, 2017, we don’t want to see any northerner close to (the) Niger Delta; any attempt to penetrate shall meet fierce resistance. This time, we are not going to play defence, but attack.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/06/northerners-leave-niger- |

Granting unknown persons and organisations access to a subscriber ’s telephone line by MTN for the purpose of sending unsolicited messages to the line is a violation of the subscriber’ s right to privacy , the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has ruled. A three -man bench of the Court of Appeal led by Justice Tinuade Akomolafe-Wilson , unanimously held in its judgment that the said MTN’ s act was a violation of the subscriber ’s right to privacy guaranteed under section 37 of the 1999 Constitution . Justice Emmanuel Agim, who prepared the lead judgment of the Court of Appeal , held that innumerable text messages sent without the consent of the subscriber was a violation of the subscriber’ s fundamental right to privacy of his telephone conversations , correspondence , his person , telephone line and telephone message inbox. Justice Agim held , “ By giving those unknown persons and organisations access to the respondent ’ s MTN GSM phone number , to send text messages into it , the appellant violated the respondent ’s fundamental right to privacy guaranteed by section 37 of the Constitution which includes the right to the privacy of a person ’ s telephone line. “ The said section 37 of the 1999 Constitution provides that, ‘The privacy of citizens, their homes , correspondence , telephone conversations and telegraphic conversations is hereby guaranteed and protected ’. “ The innumerable text messages without his consent at all times is a violation of his fundamental right to the privacy of his telephone conversations , correspondence and his person and telephone line and telephone message inbox .” Justice Agim also held that MTN ’s act violated Rule 14 (1 )( b ), ( 2) and ( 3) of the General Consumer Code of Practice Rules and the Consumer Code of Practice Regulations 2007, both of which were regulations made on the strength of section 70 of the Communications Act . The two regulations , according to Justice Agim , ‘require the appellant ( MTN) to maintain a directory enquiry facility containing information of all its subscribers in Nigeria and allow access to same by third parties but subject to the prior notification of the subscriber ’. Justice Akomolafe-Wilson who headed the court ’ s three man-panel and the another member , Justice Olabisi Ige, agreed with the lead judgment delivered by Justice Agim. The Court of Appeal in Abuja delivered the judgment on May 12 , 2017 , but its copy was made available to our correspondent on Sunday . The judgment was on an appeal with number , CA/ A / 689/ 2013 , and filed by MTN against the earlier verdict of Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja . The appeal court ’s verdict affirmed substantially the judgment by Justice Ademola who , had held that MTN’ s defence filed in response to the alleged breach, was evasive . Justice Ademola had, in his judgment delivered on May 15 , 2013 , awarded N5m as exemplary and aggravated damages against MTN, but the Court of Appeal reduced it to N3 m on the grounds that no explanation was given by the lower court for the award . But the appeal court affirmed part of Justice Ademola ’ s decision to the effect that ‘ the award of 10 per cent interest on the judgment sum (N3 m ) from the date of the judgment until the judgment sum is fully and finally paid to the respondent is hereby affirmed ’ . A lawyer and MTN subscriber , Mr Godfrey Eneye, had filed the suit marked FHC / ABJ/CS / 431/ 2012 before Justice Ademola , contending that MTN had violated his rights by revealing or permitting his private line registered with the network provider to be accessed by other organisations and persons ‘who sent unsolicited , irritating and annoying messages to the said line’ . He had stated in his suit before the Federal High Court that, “ The respondent (MTN ) offers and provides a bulk SMS message service to customers and permits the sending of bulk messages by individuals , organisations and other bodies through their network upon certain specified conditions agreed between the respondent and the respective subscribers to the said bulk SMS service .” In response, MTN had claimed that it did not disclose the subscriber ’s phone details to third parties. “ The appellant did not show or even suggest that it notified the respondent before giving access to his line to the senders of the text messages,” Justice Agim ruled. http://punchng.com/unsolicited-messages-acourt-awards-damages-against-mtn/ Copyright PUNCH . |

I went out with a friend and his colleagues, after the good time, he told me in private why the work mates where happy for him not knowing that he is trapped between his long awaiting promotions and April fool's prank he made: My friend said he proposed to a girl in the office with April fool in the back of his mind but the girl was so excited and screemed, every body including their MD came out, she pointed at the ring and kissed him, as she was telling them that he just proposed to her, before he could say a word the MD declared a free lunch for all. My friend wasn't himself as the food delivery guys arrived sharing the food and drinks from gate, in the middle of the lunch their MD said " That means your allowance should be increased." He became more speechless because that was a statement he said their MD usually use for promotions. At this point he didn't know how to confess that it was April Fool joke. The major problem he has is his 2-year old relationship with another woman, now he's asking if April fool prank has expiry date? Or should he let the cat out the next working day? |

To the drowning Igbos the word gun means different thing to them. |
Gun is gun, when they will start Gunning for presidency don't don't talk, that is also self defense that is just activated! |
I opened the Daily Sun Newspaper online this early morning around 12:20 a.m. and i saw a captivating newspaper headline that suggests that "Igbos must gun for presidency" by Ekwueme! At first i took it to be a typo but knowing the situation of things in Nigeria against the acclaimed killings and marginalization of the igbos as pro Biafra agitators today also declared and invoked the U.N. charter of Self Defense. If the suggestion of gun for presidency and the Biafran declaration of self defense is a coincidence or a typographical error; it is a rare and a miraculous one! http://sunnewsonline.com

@ nenergy, if you own mtn it won't work as receiver pays for your call, so go and pay your debt! |

Someone one can remotely check if an MTN subscriber has kobo (airtime) in his or her phone! Be careful when lying to your partner or boyfriend that you don't have airtime to call or maybe bragging that you are a big boy or thick madam: not knowing that how broke you are is written all over you! If you want to know if someone has mtn airtime in his phone just dial *121*(mtn number)# send it. The answer may be 'The subscriber doesn't have airtime in the phone' if he or she doesn't have; but if he has it will ask the receiver to pay for your call; which payment is optional. You can also use the code ironically to do call me back or mtn flash. In your economic recession or during emergency and official; the receiver pays for your call!

The truth remains the truth no matter who said it. The call for a vote of no confidence against president Buhari by prominent Nigerians and the general public is one move that is too many. If you are a good compatriot of this country Nigeria (irrespective of your tribe, political party, religion or believe) you will notice that the masses are suffering because of the poor economic plans of president Buhari. The whole thing went out of hands, when President Buhari's first economic mistake in office in 2015 was to tamper with Forex; refusal to devalue Naira and banning of dollars domiciled accounts in Nigeria. Which no country that did that have ever survived immediate economic collapse and sudden rise in cost of living as in Nigeria that is entirely based on imported products. The dramatic rise of dollar against naira from 170 he inherited from his predecessor Jonathan to 500 naira within few months (and is still counting) is the worst thing that has economically happened to this country. Nigeria's inflation rate in Buhari's hand has gone more than 300% (according to economic experts in National television this weekend) without salary increment or Woking plans to move the country out of her first economic recession in recent times. Buhari is the first democratically elected president of Nigeria that lead the country into economic recession within one year of office. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/02/jonathan-handed-buhari-exchange-rate-n170-n190-dollar/ A call to the general public by 2face Idibia, a public figure with huge fans in the music industry, to protest against president Buhari's bad economic policies that is choking all good Nigerians, is one among his fellow compatriots like religious leaders, intellectuals, youths, and economic experts all over the world. A peaceful Motion Of No Confidence against president Buhari is the solution to Nigeria's deteriorating and recessive economic problems. |

I never believed Glo internet will be this slow and unsteady for more than 5 months in five different cities like Port Harcourt, Aba, Umuahia,Ohafia, Bende. I couldn't use about 10% of my monthly data subscription! Even if they're running on 3310G, they should remember that we paid them in this recession. To me it's robbery selling anything that's not working or you couldn't fix after series of complaints! Should i follow more than my five friends to abandon my Glo SIM? Glo is very disappointing: Never connecting when you want it or being very slow even at night. For good: Globacom Limited should upgrade their system and techniques because You may cheat the people at a time but not all the time.

10 Ways the Nigerian Air force has confirmed that "Every Mistake Is Deliberate.": (1) Start a war plane. (2) Load it with live bombs. (3) Flying around without a good map. (4) Seeing an innocent crowd in an old camp. (5) Without asking questions nor prior warning. (6) Command bombing and aerial attacks on them. (7) Killing the refugees, The Press, Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and fellow Guard soldiers. ( Wasn't challenged. (9) Ignoring the status of more than 100 human victims. (10) Come back three times in a moment to decimate more Children, brothers, sisters and friends!"The bomb were dropped on us thrice, there was no way a mistake could be made thrice"-Abdulwahab Adam, a surviving victim said, 'There was nothing accidental about the attack and it could not be referred to as a mistake.' Oh my God, shouldn't this dangerous, shameful and unprofessional act, on Tuesday 17th January 2017 in Rann Borno State, be properly investigated and brought to book, to avoid a future recurrence!
