This will make them harder to monitor as they plan. When they are ready they will erupt in a violent way.

OPC, must be ready to dialogue with the Yoruba Muslims otherwise they have already lost the war. Why? any covert invader that already has the sympathies and/or active support of almost half your population has already won.

I dont have the energy to go into details now, but i will never forget about 15 years ago i was stranded in Abuja. It was a perfect stranger called Benjamin - who was poor as a rat who gave me a home to sleep in and transport money the next day back to lagos.

I made a commitment to name my first son Benjamin, after him.

It was another perfect stranger in the bus back to Lagos that took care of me and after I had nothing else, personally delivered me to my home in Lagos.

I took my family the next day to go and thank him, only to be told he passed away that night.

I am happy to hear that their are still some good people left in this our country.

Your experiences may be true but your conclusions are not scientific enough. Why? Nigerian population is over 140million and you had close personal contacts with less than 100 probably in the same geographic area. Statistically your sample size is not significant enough for you to generalize your conclusion for the whole population.
As for the so called 'Nigerian factor', it is rather a human factor but made more prominent in Nigeria because we do not have a 'working' legal system. The whites even in first world, in fact every human being given the prevailing condition in Nigeria will probably behave worse than an average church-goer in Nigeria.
Religion have helped Nigeria to even remain a bit better, otherwise you would have witnessed more depravity of the fallen man if there was no religion in Nigeria with an incompetent legal/civil rule.
As for going to heaven: no human being will go to heaven because of his/her works. Salvation is a free gift paid for by God through the sacrifice of Jesus the Messiah.
Acceptance of this gift by faith will only make available to you grace to live in obedience to God's laws. You will not automatically be stripped of your human nature or natural tendency. You will still retain the capacity to lie, kill, steal, fornicate, and do other vices if you submit your will to do any of these.
That is why Jesus said to those who believe on him 'if you CONTINUE in my word, then are you my disciples indeed, ' You still have the power of your will to decide who you obey- the devil or God. However you will have the grace of God available to you to live above sins if you so desire.
About making heaven as a Nigerian: honestly speaking, the system in nigeria will make a lot of 'born agains' miss heaven who would have not miss it if they were living in places where there is rule of law and responsible leadership (both civil and religious leadership).
Why? Most business transactions in Nigeria including contract, employment, even admission to schools involve sinful practices like bribery, nepotism, dishonesty, lying etc otherwise a truthful person may not be able to get any means of livelihood. Unfortunately it's getting worse and now it is the survival of the 'fittest'
I can go on and on. But many 'born again' residents of Nigeria can still make it to God's kingdom if they are ready to suffer, rely on God, remove their eyes from the ambition to be vey rich thru short cuts and be honest enough, and if they don't act as if God is silly etc

I accept most of what you say, but look at the first line I highlighted. If this is the case does it not point to the fact that maybe heaven is not for Nigerians? That day to day life in this country shows so called Christains that they are trying to live a lie?

To the second highlighted line, how many Nigerians are ready to suffer?

I still would like to see both an inter-party debate and intra-party debate. This is needed for a credible election and it will also be beneficial for our young democracy as well. Some people may think that this debate is pointless. However, I feel that it would be good for the Nigerian people to see the stances that their political leaders are taking. My only problem is how can we hold these officials accountable.

Everyone agree that it is pointless, until a candidate is elected/selected for a party what's the point? They may not get the ticket of the party and just hurt the image of the party. It may be good for you the viewer, but I am sure you realize that parties are more interested in their electoral chances than on pleasing viewers. In Nigeria these are not the same thing

Both campaigns have been rediculiously short on economic and social policies. I bet you that most of the general public - including the delegates - could not tell you what either candidate stood for. This is a perfect opportunity for both men to air their policies and ideas. I can't understand how anybody with democratic principles would not see the benefit of a debate at the point of time.

Why are people running scared from this? How would a debate at this point in time hinder Nigeria? Surely greater dialogue is needed in a country with as many problems as this one? And the only logical conclusion is that one man is scared witless. Shame.

I must disagree, GEJ has stated his economic ans social blueprint over and over. As to having a PDP debate, it is pointless and the party is aware that it will only serve to assist it's opponents. It might be good in an organized society but we are here in Nigeria, so lets forget about it.

I do look forward to a debate between the party flag bearers.

I hope this relationship is the beginning of measures to pull the almajiri system into the mainstream. It needs to be regulated and standardised, and as the President suggested, it must contain some Western education so its beneficiaries can be of use to society and do not end up without skills, destined to be beggars and robotic mass murderers.
