grin grin If I had a kobo for everytime you have said this I would probably be rich right now. Get it into your head that very intelligent and , to an extent , neutral analysts have said what I am saying now i.e there is a possibilty of post-election chaos ensuing . The debate will then be about who should have acted selflessly to prevent it. We all know GEJ's Party zones the Presidential slot . We know GEJ's backers who continue to goad him forward , like OBJ , are "do or die" desperados notorious for their treachery and inability to honour agreements . Please put two and two together if that is possible for you.

Are you delusional or just brain damaged? I have said this on numerous occasions and we have won ALL the contests so far.  Could it be that you don't know the meaning of the words?

We are on the ground and we will continue to win. All you do is show the world that you are clueless, when we win the 2011 elections you will still be here spouting the nonsense you usually do. It may be satisfying to you to espouse a position that bears no relationship to the reality on the ground, but at a point even the readers who do not post will have to acknowledge that you are delusional.

I forgot, when we win, the northerners will start to kill indiscriminately and we all will be helpless, right? Wrong, we will protect the lives of the citizens.

Yep, I also like watching programs about dinosaurs on National Geographic Channel.

I am still waiting for someone to tell me where the votes for buhari will come from in the South of Nigeria. How you intend to explain to the SW, SS, and SE that the coup plotting dinosaur is what they have been waiting for.

Eku is far more intelligent than you IMO. Impossible to patronise folks who have their own minds and can use it intelligently.
Truth be told, Eku probably takes you and NL seriously. I on the other hand KNOW that most of you guys here are just mild entertainment at best.

We are on the ground, and just post to help those who may seek additional info on the internet. Other than that, do you really think that anything you do here will actually affect events on the ground? If you do then you are either very young or a fool.

For the presidential elections, let us just give it to PDP. Other party ticket holders will only be spectatators at the end of the day.
At last someone who is on planet earth.

This thread depends on a few things:

1. The readers are dumb, or young children. Why? Every adult knows that the ability of a President to be effective depends on his/ her relationship to the legislature. In Nigeria, any president from another party that does not control the legislature is DOOMED as far as implementing the programs he wants to.

2. The continued pandering to sentiment rather than matured political consideration. Why? Where is the candidate for ANPP? Where is APGA. In any mature debate these and other parties would be discussed here.
PoliticsRe: Is Nigerian Democracy Complete Without Our Ability To Take A Government Out? by johndoe200: 11:13am On Jan 17, 2011
safari SA:
This question drives my passion to get PDP out of power. Are we saying as a nation, we can only stick to PDP in government, despite 12 years of failed leadership? is democracy worth our time if we can't say no to a party and bring up another?

As long as we endorse a party after every failed term, we give them the reassurance that we support what they do.
You never really had a passion, you are just a paid employee. We should kick out a performing Government just to prove that we have a democracy?

The few days you have been on this forum, you have gone on incessantly about voting for your guy, I think everyone has gotten the message, now you are just boring.
PoliticsRe: Gej: Still A Long Way To Go In Teh North by johndoe200: 11:09am On Jan 17, 2011
Gbawe:
@Eku Bear.

Below , culled from the link Jarus provides, is exactly what I have been saying about zoning and the ambition of Jonathan i.e it will be difficult to truncate zoning , without serious reppercussion, when it is the most clannish region in Nigeria that is being "cheated" . Of course OBJ and co know this but they don't care . They are used to daming the consequences and attempting to get their way in a "do or die" fashion. If thousands of Nigerians die in the process that is par for the course in the quest for some people (OBJ, Anenih et al) to remain rich and politically relevant.

Naturally young, educated folks like us would want the end of zoning . Nothing seems more odious to us since most of us embrace merit fervently above other considerations . Some of us can also argue it is a PDP affair but most Parties show they are also tacitly following the zoning Principle. What that tells me is that other Parties are also concerned about keeping an agreement that brings peace . We are all learning everyday . Naturally , as defined by history, we will move on from zoning but it would be better everyone is ready and willing to move on. This is no call to pacify anyone . We should all know and understand the reality of what may happen when insincere politicians play their selfish games and heat up the polity deliberately.
As usual with you and your vacuous arguments, you depend on people being stupid for them to accept your irrational arguments.

Thousands of people will be killed by northerners - so let's give them what they want. this is the crux of your argument. What if I say that the same thing will happen if GEJ is not allowed to be president?

Please spare us the "we are too weak and scared of northerners argument", really it makes you sound stupid.

Oh pray tell johndoe200. I can't wait to hear your response. I'm getting my popcorn ready.
I asked you if you know what the PDP constitution says, you have not answered.

I will just ask you a few questions more:

1. What does the rotation in the PDP constitution refer to?
2. What does the zoning in the PDP constitution refer to?
3. What are the bodies in the PDP that kind bind the PDP to any agreement?
4. What do political parties produce? Candidates or Presidents?
5. Who has a "term"? A candidate or an elected official?
6. What is the function of the PDP NATIOANL CONVENTION?
7. According to the PDP constitution, how often is this to be held?

party unity before the court case, party unity during the court case and party unity after the court case.
Why do you just spout rubbish? Do you even know what the PDP constitution says? Let me tell you that if anyone goes to court based on the PDP constitution they will lose.

It has amazed me how this noise about court cases has continued without any recourse to the facts. If you disagree state what you think you know and I will educate you.

ndu_chucks asked again
Beaf, Gbawe and Buhari supporter, can you please address the issues raised by Eziachi and ndu_chucks?

I will add the issue of centralization of security and judicial administration(State police, State laws) to this. Please, present and articulate their position with necessary verifiable evidences by showing us what your candidates thoughts, opinions, and positions are on these important issues?

If you want to do a general presentation of their position in a way that will  encapsulate all these, by all means, you can do so by presenting their position on True federalism, the devolution of police powers to the states, LG or regions, land use act and other federalism themed issues.

I want concise presentations with links, verifiable evidences(speeches, experience, manifesto) or anything that can show their position and thoughts on these very important issues.

Thank you guys.
Buhari and Ribadu have no thoughts on these issues cos their core support group would fall away from them if they articulated any thoughts on these issues.

Essentially other than on NL everyone knows that they (Buhari and Ribadu) are regional aspirants. It amazes me that they have been elevated to national status here. If NL were to be an honest place, what makes the ACN candidate more viable than the APGA candidate?

I sincerely believe that Ayatollah Buhari and Atiku the Hun should get married and live happily ever after on the dregs of their looted fortunes.   They will certainly find more satisfaction than they will ever see as candidates in elections that they don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of ever winning.
I could not agree more!!!
PoliticsRe: Presidential Debate - Battle Of The Campaigners by johndoe200: 5:54pm On Jan 15, 2011
First let me say that this KIND of thread could be useful, however I want to know how the candidates were chosen. Why is Ribadu here and not Chris Okotie? Why is Buhari considered a suitable challenger to GEJ?

If you are going to include second string candidates like Ribadu and Buhari, don't they all deserve a chance?

The reason why many doubt Nigerians can go to heaven is because the so called believers live as if they are atheists, they live there lives as though God doesn't exist even though they pay Him lip service and justify their sinful actions as just mistakes. It is my prayer that believers would live christ-like lives that would glorify the Lord, edify the church, magnify His Word and terrify the devil.
We all pray this prayer with you.

From what friends in the North up there have been telling me and from what I read in papers, CPC will clinch at least 4 states in Guber elections(Kano, Katsina, Kebbi and even Kaduna). The Buhari Hurricane blowing across core North appears unstoppable. People need to go and see for themselves.
Well let's wait and see, I doubt in all honesty that CPC is going to overtake PDP in any part of the country. Certainly in the south, CPC will not get a ward or up to 1% of the vote. In the north even if they make a good showing, PDP will still be there or thereabout.

Why do you like to deceive yourself? Do you think that a former civil servant who has never been through an election process is going to win the presidential election the first time he tries?

Ribadu should have stood for the House of Reps or his state assembly (really he should be an LG Counselor ).

I dnt like pdp and everything in it and i ve maintained dat stand some yrs nw dats y i keep voting individuals rather than party affiliation. I did vote for fashola & utomi and will do same again cos i believe on this guys nt their party. Having said dat d truth must also stated even though it hurts, pdp is still d only party dat has presence in all nooks and cranies of nigeria though a conglomerate of mostly thieves but do ve a very formidable structure and ve practicaly dwarfed all other existing parties at d moment. Other parties only get revived just for election purposes and after goes incommunicado of which pdp leaverrage from there silence since dey realy dont ve an opposition dat strong to checkmate their excesses. U will agree with me dat cpc was just formed by buhari to give himself a platform to be its presidential flag bearer snc ANPP wont give him dat opportunity again and other internal rancour in the party. CPC is new and unpopular across d nation, it has no structure but an owner whose ego too ends up ruining all he has laboured for. Buhari as a person is principled which every1 knws but he is regid and opinionated too also remember his past coments on religious matters keeps hunting him till date. I belive if Buhari contest election for 100yrs he wont still win for he practicaly has no political structure and his got loads of odds against him though with him as president there is a posibility dat corruption might reduce but i do nt forsee an economic growth because his said nt towards dat direction but will do better anytime anyday than ribadu whose only anticident is dat he was efcc boss who did his best nothing more. Ribadu to me tends to be more catholic than d pope, i mean d guy tends to be so passionate and enthusiastic abt bringing abt change to Nigeria only in d media and some private gatherings. Just like Buhari he too has no political structure but d guys in ACN are providing him with thiers and he is yet to state what his frame work on how he is going to make Nigeria work again.
This is one of the few REALISTIC posts on this forum.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Calls For 'TOTAL' Sharia In Nigeria by johndoe200: 4:30pm On Jan 15, 2011
Buhari is a coup plotting dinosaur. If he is also a fundamentalist intent on implementing sharia it would not surprise me.

The issue that does surprise me is how people can believe that a party like CPC which has not won any election is going to unseat the PDP. I mean seriously, this is naive in the extreme. People seem to discount the effect of party affiliation in the choice of president.

Beaf:
I am quite sure Ezeachi doesn't need your help. Especially with such an off point response, you could as well be responding to a question you heard in the wind.

My point is simple, all those on the side of zoning need to be kicked out, same as those with bonds to Bayero college etc. It is a question of liberation, those are not light words. And dude, I couldn't care less about your thoughts on that, cos I strongly suspect you are not inclined by circumstances to have the slightest clue of where I or the majority of disenfranchised Nigerians are coming from.
To be honest with you, if we were to go into the issue of zoning, Jonathan IS THE ZONING CANDIDATE. I had my lawyers do me a brief on this and I was shocked by the result.

At the appropriate time I will open a thread on this, I can show using the PDP constitution that the next presidential candidate of the PDP, must come from the SS or SE if they really want to abide by their constitution.

But to the part in bold, 9ijaMan is from a part of Nigeria where "men" are "men" and the cows are afraid, so he can't understand what you are talking about.
