Sapeleboy911: I won't advice a starter to start learnin on youtube. Because there is information overload and, there is no clear learning path. Many of those chanel owners don't really teach from scracth. They asume u already know certain things on that topic. I only go on youtube when i need more info on a particular topic. Youtube is like my home lesson after school hours. YouTube has made me wasted my time jumping from one place to another. I'll try Udemy, they back up their tutorials with projects. Udacity too is good but expensive. |
Programming › Re: Programming: Where Do I Start From by Johnmattee(m): 12:21pm On Apr 04, 2020 |
blissbliss: Well..., the idea is you want something that’d open your eyes and you wouldn’t find difficult to learn thereby discouraging you. Python would open your mind to basic of programming such as data/control structures (If I have money, I can buy a phone, else I cannot), loops/iterations and all.
That said, you can also use python (django) for web development.
Alternatively, For web, you can learn html, then proceed to CSS, and then JavaScript. Mobile has variants; you either go with hybrid (one app for Android, iOS) or native (java or kotlin for android; swift for iOS). For hybrid, just learn one language unlike native where you’ve got to learn each of the ones you’re interested in developing (iOS and/or android)
If you’re learning mobile, you may not need to learn python. I had learnt html, CSS and JavaScript but I want to move with backend, which one is easier to use for backend between node js and python(Django). I don't have experience in python before. |

benedictuyi: Oga Google is your friend na. There's a high order function in JavaScript called 'map'. You can use map to loop through an object You can't use map function on a plain object unless you find a way to convert it to an array and can filter through using filter function. |

stanliwise: Your work is nothing but a self-destruct. While it keep sustaining you, it ensures it keeps you busy from improving yourself. To make things work, you have to find all way possible to learn how to code. And most importantly, you have to learn properly unless it will end up wasted. Thanks so much for the advice, I'll find a way out even if it's just 2 hours a day. |

Programming › How To Combine Work And Learning? by Johnmattee(op): 5:46pm On Nov 14, 2019 |
Hello guys, I'm a newbie in programming though I've started coding for more than a year but work and other stuffs don't afford me the time I need to code, there was a time I didn't code for more than 5 months straight because of the nature of work I was doing then, now I'm serving and I'll soon pass out, PPA work doesn't give me enough time too. so I'm looking for a way to achieve something worthwhile before passing out. I'll appreciate your advice. |

Okoroawusa: These senior staff are the ones holding this country to ransome. Directors on higher levels are already earning high n they still want government to use the same template used to increase the salary of junior staff to be used for them n if that is done, government will use all its revenue to pay salaries of an already bloated civil service. So a director earning #450k will now be earning almost a million naira n they are already billionaires from all the corrupt practices they do in their offices.
Why wouldn't there be division in their midst when some are too greedy? That's exactly what's happening, they are the main cog in the wheel of this minimum wage implementation. They are egocentric and I know that this govt don't f**king care about their threat. |
