The Nigeria police have arrested a robbery syndicate made up of one female and three male persons. (pictured above). The gang specializes in one chance robbery of innocent citizens within the FCT.

At about 8:00am of 10th August, 2015, the gang picked a female victim, The victim (name withheld) from UTC Area 10 to Wuse 2 and along the way attempted to rob her of her belong at Central Business Area. While struggling with the suspects the victim sighted a police patrol team and she raised the alarm for help which attracted the police and other spirited citizens who came to her rescue.

After a hot chase, the operational car of the suspect was intercepted around Coomasie House, CBD. The robbery suspects attempted to escape but they were arrested by the police team with support of members of the public at scene. An attempt to lynch the suspects by members of the public was thwarted by the responding Police team on ground who made a call for backup. Police re-enforcement was sent to the area and the suspects were eventually rescued from angry mob and situation finally brought under control. The suspects were arrested and brought to the station for interrogation, victim has volunteered useful information. Two other persons (earlier victims) identified one of the suspects as one of those who robbed them recently using the same one-chance method. The case has been transferred to State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID) Abuja for further investigation.

14 year old Elisa Bellandi has come to terms with the knowledge that not only was she a 'mistake' baby, conceived when her mother had already passed 40, but that she survived both a miscarriage and a failed abortion.

In a case that has shocked Italy, her parents are suing the hospital claiming that a botched operation caused 'psychological trauma' to Elisa's mother and father.

Giuseppe and Aurora Bellandi, who live in the Italian beach town of Rimini with Elisa, are demanding £700,000 (€1m) in compensation for not just the psychological trauma of having a second child, but also the material deprivation it caused to their lifestyle.

Elisa, incredibly supports their decision to sue and insists she has always felt 'loved'.

The failed abortion took place in 2000 after the couple, who already had a grown-up son, unexpectedly discovered that they were expecting a baby.

The Bellandis were told it was medically necessary to save the life of Aurora, already 43. They also felt that they could simply not afford another child.

With grim acceptance, they agreed to the termination. But, by the time they discovered it had failed, it was too late to repeat the procedure under Italian law, which forbids abortion after 21 weeks.

The pregnancy and birth were problematic and the couple successfully sued the doctors responsible for 'physical harm to the mother' and received £85,000 (€120,000) in damages in 2008.

Seven years later, the couple, who claim they are still struggling financially as a result of Elisa's birth, are taking a hospital in Alessandria, in the mountainous northern region of Piedmont, to Italy's highest court.

The Bellandis argue the hospital is responsible for Elisa's birth and should pay for her upbringing.

'The doctors brought her into the world. They should provide for her study and indispensable needs until she is 18. It's her right', her father Giuseppe told MailOnline. 'I don't want money for myself. I want money for her. You can't have a child and not want to give them everything. You have to.'

Giuseppe dismisses those who would criticise the family saying that millions of couples have had an unwanted or unexpected child and have striven to provide for them without resorting to legal action.

He said: 'We were told that we had had to have an abortion. Other couples who get pregnant get to decide if they will keep it or not. We didn't get to decide anything. They told us - first "You’re pregnant and you must have an abortion". Then, "You can’t have an abortion". They decided everything. As they decided everything they should bear the responsibility.'

He added: ‘I am not trying to become a millionaire. I just want enough for my daughter to be able to study. In Italy the children have to take on their parents' debts when they die. I don’t want that for her.’

The traditional ruler of Umunya, Igwe Kris Onyekwuluje has escaped assassination attempt after men of the Special Anti-Robbery squad (SARS) foiled an attempt to murder him in cold
blood by ten men from Umuleri and Aguleri allegedly hired by Umunya sons led by Ekene Okonkwo Eje and Chukwudozie
Udemezue.

SARS operatives it was leant on a tip off by one of those contacted to do the clandestine job on time and venue of the
attack swung into action, although they missed the bus load of the 10 man gang but
pieces of evidences they left behind led to the arrest of three of the men allegedly
masterminding the murder plan while others escaped.

Those arrested and detained by the police over the planned

The Labour Party in Anambra State has challenged Governor Willie Obiano to account for the local government funds that have accrued to the state for the past 16 months he has been in office.

The party which alleged that the state had received over N80bn from the Federation Account within the period in question said the impact of such a huge
sum had not been felt in the state.

Speaking at a news conference in Awka on Saturday, the state
chairman of the party, Chief Luke Ezeanokwasa, accused the governor of abandoning most
of the projects initiated by the previous administration of Peter Obi.

He said “everything has been at a standstill since Obi left” Ezeanokwasa said that the governor’s 60th birthday celebration at a time of economic hardship was uncalled for. He noted that it was insensitive for the governor to embark on such a “self-serving celebration at a time of economic crunch.

He also faulted the three flyovers being constructed by the governor in Awka ,
declaring that the amount being spent would have been used in developing communities like Mgbakwu, Isuaniocha, Urum,
Ebenebe among others which the opposition party said had no roads.

He said, “The Labour Party in Anambra State frowns at the deliberate and calculated action of the state governor to bring the local government system in the state to a halt.

“He personifies all institutions of governance in Anambra State in the guise that ‘Willie is working’, if not, why would elected local government chairmen need to apply for approval through the office of the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters to carry out a project of
mere N400,000.”

While reacting to claims by the All Progressive Grand Alliance that it was the only party that
had the interest of Ndigbo at heart, the LP leader said, “The
Labour Party in Anambra State hereby states categorically that the APGA slogan “Onyeahana Nwanneya” is mere noise and is diversionary.

“If not, why would the governor of Anambra State appoint a non-native of Anambra State as the Chairman of the Anambra State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board?

“The governor, as a matter of urgency should terminate the
appointment of Alhaji Suleman Mahmud, a serving Federal Government employee and a non-native of Anambra State and follow due process in
appointing the new chairman of the board”

The Rwandan military revealed that a Rwandan soldier serving with the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Central African Republic shot dead four Rwandan troops and injured eight others before committing suicide.

The incident happened at 5.45am on Saturday August
8th at the Rwandan battalion headquarters in Bangui, the CAR
capital.

"Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) with deep sorrow announces
an unfortunate incident where one of its soldiers serving in the United Nations Multidimensional
Integrated Stabilisation Mission
in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) shot dead four RDF
soldiers and injured eight others. The soldier killed himself
after shooting his comrades.

The incident occurred on 08 August2015 at around 05:45. hours in Bangui, at Rwanda
Battalion Headquarters (RWABATT 2) located at 5th Arrondissement SOCATEL M’POKO. The Casualties were immediately evacuated to Level
two Hospital in Bangui.

Investigations have immediately commenced to establish the
motive behind this deplorable shooting of his RDF colleagues.

We suspect terrorism without ruling out mental illness to be
the cause. RDF sends heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire RDF fraternity. More details will be

Catholic television is coming to the southern African country of Zambia following years of effort by the Zambian bishops conference.

Reports trickling in indicates one of Jam Master Jay’s (JMJ) XTRA LARGE MUSIC label artist, Kwabena Buahin, popularly known by his stage name Ghetto KB, has passed on.

According to his publicist, Elorm Beenie, the unfortunate incident happened late Sunday March 22, 2015 enroute to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra, where he was expected to receive medical attention.

When Charity Anyanwu dropped off her niece Munachiso Anyanwu, at the Lagos toll-gate to board a vehicle to the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State, little did she know that it would be the last time they would set eyes on her. A priest has been arrested on charges of selling drugs after he was caught selling meth, prosecutors in Connecticut said.

Today, many people call themselves Christians, even if they aren’t necessarily trying to follow everything
Jesus commanded. As Christians, we
are all messengers/witnesses that fall
into one of the two categories – false
or true messenger.

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit comes upon
you. And you will be my witnesses,
telling people about me everywhere.”

So many people say that Christians
are the people that are full of pride,
selfishness, and greed. I especially
made sure of that after doing interviews of random people on the
streets for ‘A Voice’

. So many people have a wrong view
of Christianity just because someone
called himself a Christian and was a
false messenger. Not necessarily by
words, but by actions he had redefined the true meaning of this word for someone. Imagine if John the Baptist didn’t explain God to people correctly or if Apostle Paul misunderstood Him, just like church during Dark Era…

This is why for us, Christians, it is
crucial to be and example of real
Christianity that is filled with love,
compassion, joy, generosity, etc.
The biggest misrepresentation of
Jesus Christ was made by Christians
themselves, those Christians that
never knew Christ personally.

John 14:9 “Jesus replied, “Have I
been with you all this time, Philip,
and yet you still don’t know who I
am?”

We can walk step by step with God
Himself. We can go to church all our
lives, yet it doesn’t mean that we know
God, just how it happened with Philip.

This is the most dangerous state of
being of a so called Christian. This is
when we can easily become false
messengers who are calling
themselves Christ followers, yet never
knowing the One they follow. This is
when we can negatively redefine the
great meaning of the only true God.

But how to be a true messenger of
God? I think there’s only one way.

In order to be an example of a true
meaning of this religion we need to
long to have a character of Jesus. Just
imagine it, when having a character of
Jesus, you will never ever
misrepresent Him, because you’ll be
like Him (and we are called to be just
like that.) When you live not by flesh,
but by spirit – you are Christlike.

So, if you realized that sometimes by
your actions or words you’ve been a
false example of Jesus and Christianity, it is time to hit your knees,
ask God to forgive you, and make a
choice to never do that again!

An 85-year-old woman with her both eyes plucked out was found dead in New Era Area of Jalingo, Taraba State

According to one of the residents, the
victim, Mama Laraba, was murdered
January 3.

"After 24 hours that Mama Laraba
did not return home from the farm, the two daughters and other neighbours who traced her to the
farm, discovered that she was assassinated with the two of her eyes mutilated.”

Her daughter and the state police confirmed the gruesome act. Another local described the assaulters as heartless and wicked people.
