The people of the south especially the south east have this self acclaimed superior wisdom over the Hausa/Fulani ethnic group in the north. But situations in the past and present have exposed the wisdom in the acclaimed foolishness of the north and the foolishness in the presumed wisdom of the south. Any user of social media will agree with the assertion that the southern region particularly the south east has emerged as the wailing wailers of this administration. This is very safe to say that the north understands the dynamics of Nigeria politics more than the other regions; they are on top of the game. The region is presently heading the three arms of government, president Buhari in the executive arm, Bukola Saraki in the legislative arm and Mahmud Mohammed in the judiciary. By omission or commission, president Buhari can hardly be blamed for this lopsided balance of power because leadership in the national assembly is elective and the judiciary follows the practice of seniority in office. Moreover a careful scrutiny of the election process in the national assembly showed the enthronement of northern objective rather than supposed power tussle between PDP and APC. Let’s presume that president Buhari have no hand in the election outcome, but having 37 appointments in the Aso rock, all from one region in the country puts a question tag on the duty of the president as regards section 14(3) of the 1999 constitution. Mention is not made of the appointment of the INEC chairman, director of DSS, customs and the most recent being the replacement of EFCC chairman with another northerner. In clear terms, one of the advantages of balance of power is that it makes each region dependent on one another; it creates politics of concession and compromise which builds national unity and understanding. As it is today, the north decides who gets what, when and how. I am compelled to say in all honesty that the north deserves the position it currently occupies in Nigeria. They strategically planned for this moment having failed to capture power severally using a regional party; they aligned with willing south west and gullible north central to enthrone an ethnic lord as the president of the republic. The bounty of victory is being shared and someone who didn’t contribute to the victory is wailing. The president didn’t miss words when he said regions that gave 5% vote will not be treated fairly with regions that gave him 97% vote. The south is wailing because weak Jonathan failed to read in between the lines when Professor Attahiru Jega proposed an additional 30,000 polling units giving his region 72% while the entire south including Lagos state got 28%. We are wailing because southerner governors decided to keep mute when professor Jega allowed collection of PVC by proxy in the north while disallowing same in the south. The north is not to be blamed for the short sightedness and individual approach to politics in the south. There was mass exodus of northerners to their respective states few days to the presidential election to vote PMB in, however down here in the south especially in the south east, people who claimed they love Jonathan didn’t even get close to the voting units, instead they opened their shops for business. Anambra had 703,409 number of votes cast out of 1,963,427 registered voters, the same can be said of Enugu and Imo state. Igbos want to benefit from a harvest they didn’t help in cultivating as if Nigeria is an advance democracy where the elected president becomes the president of all citizen irrespective of the voting pattern. The south finds it very convenient to blame the north for this political exclusion, but they easily forget that we had the opportunity for six years to put things alright. There was a Jonathan who failed to accent to a constitutional amendment bill that would have favoured his region. We had a Jonathan who played politics with the confab report because he wanted to patronize the south west with its implementation. What did the Igbos achieve when Alex Ekwueme was the vice president in the second republic? Did the Igbos proof consistency in leadership when they were allowed to occupy the senate president’s position? The ripples of the civil war are heavily visible in the Igbo man’s approach to politics, he wants to survive and thus sacrificing group interest is no big deal for him. The Igbos should stop wailing and go back to the drawing board, 2019 is close. They should learn the act of tactical negotiation and beneficial group compromise. Alliance with the south-south alone won’t give the region any politically leverage. The region should capitalize on PMB short comings to convince the south west and the middle belt on the need the Igbo man should be trusted with the presidency of the country. PMB is showing GEJ what it means to be the commander in chief. He is not ready to trade a bird in hand for an imaginary elephant in the bush, he is incharge and he doesn’t care how much you wail or protest. By Maximus Ubaka. Extinction of the human race is eminent |
Exactly 8 months and 15 days ago, Buhari tweeted this on his Twitter handle. His psychopathic followers jumped on Facebook to insult GEJ now as am speaking to you they are silent. It's either they are ashamed or dead, or have no light to charge their phones, iPads and computers, whichever way I pray they've learnt their lessons. Copied!

masonkz:I have tried to give a full disclosure about the fund. If you go through the details again you will notice that I made a note. But, if you have questions on your mind you can state it here and I will attend to them. |
EasternLion:What your fighting for is simply out of place and you know it. Your fellow igbos have been part of the same corrupt government that have impoverished the masses. If your out to fight for good governance I will gladly join in the struggle buh not this unreasonable agitation. Even if you form your own government things will not change until the fundamentals are dealt with. South Sudan are still fighting 4years after separation from North Sudan. |
This is madness. Why can't we just learn? The case of South and North Sudan is still in mind... Those regions are yet to find peace four years after separation. I really wish this whole movement can be channeled into demanding for things like true federalism, good governance, accountability of public officials. Smh. |
I wish they can channel this energy into something much more reasonable like demanding for a true federalism |
ernie4life:Thank you for the privilege... This has been a wonderful thread and I must commend you for the great work. At ARM our mutual funds are classified into four. 1. The ARM Money Market Fund 2. The ARM Discovery Fund 3. The ARM Aggressive Growth Fund 4. The ARM Ethical Fund. The ARM Money Market Fund: The fund invests mainly in money market instruments, such as government treasury bills, commercial papers, bankers acceptance and certificate of deposit. Benefits - Generate steady income - Its tax free - Capital preservation - Serves as a collateral. - Pays dividend every quarter - Low risk, because 100% of the fund is invested in the money market - The fund is open ended, its not tied to a tenure I.e you can enter and exit anytime. However, its expected that you stay up to a month. A breach of this will result in a penalty of 20% of what your money has been able to yield within the period. Actually your money yields something each day it stays with us. Note: It goes with a floating rate and not a fixed rate. And since the inception of the fund it hasn't done below 10%. Redemption of investment takes 3 to 5 working days. @ernie4life you raised a concern about how the fall in the price of government securities will impact on the money market mutual funds. Well, I can tell you that at ARM our top priority is to look for maximum opportunities that exists in the market for the optimum benefit of our clients. Though, T.bills has been falling but, the yield on the ARM money market fund hasn't done below 13.5% since the beginning of the month of November. I will be updating the house from time to time. Am here incase of any questions. ![]() Will take the Discovery Fund next. |

This judgment is simply out of place. If the 2010 electoral act is anything to go by. I think PDP have a good case. |

Bro I can feel your pain... Buh don't feel too bad. God is still on the throne. He will surely bless your hustle. |
harristo:Kai... Na Amadioha dey tell you abi na Sango? You were given an empirical evidence of what brought about the decline buh instead, you chose to insinuate theories you can't substantiate. Nigerians and propaganda. |
damton:I believe he took a cue from apostle Paul's teachings. Who made bold to declare that "to live is Christ and to die is gain". (Philippians 1:21). |
Jesusloveyou:When I say Obj is the father of corruption am not just talking based on his civilian administration. Obj is the reason why we are where we are. The election that brought in Shagari's government which is known as one of the most corrupt, was rigged by Obj to favour Shagari at the expense of the great Awolowo who was a visionary leader, and not forgetting the operation feed the nation that he diverted. Please for your information GEJ is not my hero. I don't take sides with politicians. Buh as a good student of history i cant allow myself to be swayed by the propaganda of the current govt. God bless Fela, Soyinka and co for speaking out against the evil manipulations of Obj. |
