Nothing is wrong if the DG is sacked because he didn't do his duties as it is supposed to be done. This budget 'story' keeps changing. You have to agree that somebody is at work to embarrass Buhari. Imagine somebody telling us that the whole budget is lost, as if it's a single copy.
Why are you guys shying away from the main issue with the budget? Have you gone through the content of the budget? That should be paramount to our discussion not the gossips around. The budget is a fraud. Simple! Unless you stand to benefit from the fraud otherwise I don't see the reason a right thinking human will support this daylight robbery.

Why are you just being lazy? All you needed was to get the 2015 appropriation act and compare with the so called budget of change before you come here to spew rubbish. Nigerians are so gullible. Fraud is no fraud as far as Buhari your God is involved even when the facts are there. And I know you will commit another fallacy by refusing to do the comparison and come for me. Mind you, you will be ignored because you are more wicked than the politicians.

Forget it. Most of you guys are really mixing things up.

Militancy is quite different from terrorism.
Terrorism is very dangerous and difficult to tackle.
The Militants would be targeting infrastructures, whilst terrorists targets human lives. Now tell me which is more dangerous and difficult to deal with?

If America, France, Spain, UK, Turkey and other world super powers haven't o ercome terrorism, how much more Nigeria?

Comparing the lazy militants with terrorists that carry more sophisticated weapons is like comparing sleep and death
Lolzzz... @more sophisticated weapons. That aside, can someone tell me about the economic and social viability of the hunt for Tompolo? We lost #470million daily from the last escravos attack. If today Shakau Comes out to demand for #100billion to stop Bokoharam activities in Nigeria trust me every Nigerian will contribute to pay. Even the western governments understand that there are criminals they have to protect, because a hunt for them will push into motion chains of events that are undesirable to the welfare of the general populace.

I repeat, the militants are very easy to deal with in comparison to Boko Haram, whose tactics are suicidal.

Tactics of militants aren't necessarily suicidal, but saboteurs and hungry criminals.

Boko Haram members aren't afraid of death, but the militants are
Really? If they were easy to deal with how come Obasanjo’s govt couldn't deal with them? And don't get it wrong there is no Boko haram member that is not afraid to die, that is why they use children. The war against the Niger Delta militants will cost us so much as a nation. We are yet to recover from the escravos pipeline attack that did cost us about #470milllion on a daily basis.

Knowing well that the fall of the Naira is artificial and created by speculators who keep hoarding dollars, would you allow speculators devalue the Naira? The previous government depleted our external reserves trying to reduce pressure on the Naira, how successful was that?

Am not an economist but I believe there is a solution other than spending foreign reserve or devaluations. I am hoping for a solution that will not demolished the Naira or affect Nigerians.
Artificial ke', the naira is no where near the value of the dollar. See if the naira is left alone to find its true value then we should be looking at #500 upwards. We don't produce anything in Nigeria that should support the current exchange rate. Even if they bring in Obama's economic team. The first step will be to devalue the naira.

For the Past 16 Years, they looted Our reserves:

For For past 16 years, they did not Svae , the rainy day...

For the past 16 years, they did not diversify our Economy..

For the past 16 years, they never implemented any of their yearly ritualistic budgets to stimulate the economy..

For the past 16 years, they only shared our Foreign exchange and depleted our reserves...

Now this is result of their hard work....

In fact , it is still a miracle, that The Present Government is still meeting it's financial Obligations in the face of all these crunches...
I think it's time you really open your eyes to the reality on ground. 80% of APC members were members of the PDP that killed this country. So moving forward, What is the current govt doing? What signals are they sending out? In the midst of plunging economy what your clueless FEC discussed was Buhari’s oversee travels and climate change. We have 2.2trillion fraud in the budget, the amnesty guy Buhari appointed blew #48billion on frivolous contracts within 5 months, Buhari trying to drive the economy with monetary policy. This government is clueless abeg.

You are a true Nigerian.

While some illiterates are blaming the current govt, those from the past govt who have millions of dollars in stash are benefiting from this. The current government is saddled with responsibility of finding a solution that would not lead to the devaluation of the Naira. I pray they do soon.
That is the wrong argument... The naira is over valued at #197. Even stronger currency like the euro is losing value against the dollar. The best time to devalue was yesterday and the second best time is now. A devaluation will reduce the stress on the naira. So finding a solution that will not lead to the devaluation of the naira is a waste of valuable time.

It's gonna be stupid for the governement to devalue the naira because then the currency will just go in a free fall and then that's when Nigerians will hear 'wen'. So 'koninu' begging them to devalue it oo.
This is the best time to devalue. If the official rate was 380 the level of speculation will reduce drastically. And the naira is over valued at #199.

I don't think the crude oil price is the full story. This is the lie APC keeps peddling around. A lot of factors led us here. Are we saying BDCs were getting funding from CBN only? I doubt it. A good chunk came in from foreign investors/speculators and also foreign remmitances. The delay in appointing ministers was a bad move too. It led to a lot of uncertainties and investors pulled their dollars out hot. The freezing of dorm accounts also forced money to neighbouring countries in millions of dollars. Are you aware that the rate of currency weakness is about 40% in some neighbouring countries and they don't have oil. If dollar was the only reason, we shouldn't have lost 70% in value. People are exchanging naira to these currencies and cross exchanging to dollars. As we know, the dorm embargo has been lifted but the ball was already rolling. They realized the folly too late. I think the PMB government forced a scarcity of Forex unknowingly while fighting this corruption. To worsen it, it seems they have no economic team and keep sending the signal. At the last FEC meeting, their agenda was climate change and the President's travel. For real? Those are market signals that would keep depressing the dollar. I don't believe our Forex predominantly comes from crude. Maybe 70% or less. We just failed to document these other sources. The current trend shows there are many other unaccounted sources.

Like I said they will keeping this crude oil as an excuse till 4 years finish.
Well done! Just on point.

The budget tells the true story though. I don't know how much he spends on hotels and you don't too. Considering, statehouse budget is way higher than under GEJ, I suspect Lai did his job and lied. Our problem is a poor economic team driving away investors and dollars. We keep thinking it is about frugality and propaganda. Ministry of information also got more money than ministry of Agriculture. A cost center vs a profit center? Also our biggest chance at getting out of this mess. Which foreign investor would invest in the ministry of information over Agric. Those are the reason dollar is disappearing.
God bless you Brother. People can defend what they have no idea about. No economic team. Only 0.48% was allocated for agriculture a reduction from 1.6% GEJ tried to maintain. Now I really appreciate GEJ idea about governance. You can't fight corruption, just make it difficult for people to steal and we will be fine. The amnesty guy Buhari appointed blew #48billion in 5 months on frivolous contracts and nobody is saying anything. Change indeed.

Let's narrate a short story to help them understand.

Oga John is a Banker. He earns a fat salary and gets quick promotion on his job. Life has never been so good. He built a very big house and has five cars in his fleet. Apart from maintaining his family, he also caters for other people's needs. A very generous man he was.

He is so sure that his salary would come at the end of the month, so he blows hos money on exotic drinks, women and all the pleasures of life. He never cared to invest. He never even saved for a rainy day.

One day, the bank had to restructure, and sacked top management staff. Oga John was affected.

Barely two weeks later, Oga John could hardly pay his bills. Debts are accumulating and things are falling apart.

Now relate Oga John's Story to Naija's case. Who is to blame? Do you blame a new government that has come at a perilous time or do you blame the generality of past governments and our poor mentality of "eating national cake"?
This story is becoming stale don't you agree? That was why we voted change. Now we have the greatest fraud ever in our history via the budget. A whopping #2.2trillion is about to be borrowed to fund #2.2trillion fraud in the budget. At least the past administration stole from our earnings. This administration is about to mortgage the welfare of the future generations for its own stealing.
The following indicator should open your eyes;
The diversification strategy of the current govt is a joke when we consider the budgetary allocation of the past govt for critical sectors like agriculture. GEJ allocated 1.6% to agriculture. Buhari reduced it to mere 0.48%.
What is the economic direction of the current govt?

The acquisition of Mixta Africa by ARM was a smart move towards providing Nigerians with decent and affordable housing. With Nigeria already having deficit of about 17million unit of housing. Mixta Africa coming on board is our contribution towards solving that huge societal problem because we're solution oriented.

Mixta Africa's first innovative product in Nigeria known as RDP (Residence de la paix) is an affordable, well planned and mixed-use estate in Lekki Lagos.

Its better to lock in now before the price is reviewed.

Copied!

The $30 billion Federal budget as proposed is simply fraudulent, these is just no way else to put it.
I had written earlier about the absence of the Education budget on the website of the Budget Office, yes there is a link to the Education budget, but click on it, it takes you to the Defense Budget, so in effect the education is “missing”. Undeterred I looked at the Consolidated Budget to find the Education budget, I wish I did not.
This budget was termed and advertised as a “zero-based” budget, unfortunately, this budget is a fraud, anyone who approves or signs this budget is complicit.
Let me give you a few examples in this ‘missing” education budget, Federal Government College Garki has a cost N400,237 repeated 20 times…20 times! local transport, books, security, maintenance, etc etc etc, all the same cost for N400,237
Federal College Ijanike has N350,362 repeated 12 times, how can newspapers, cleaning, Legal, sporting etc etc etc all cost the same?
Federal College of Iket Nise as N1,278,682 repeated 8 times…. How? water, drugs, training…all cost exactly N1,278,682?
And it goes on and on and on……
Now before you assume it’s just restricted to the Ministry of Education, the ministry with the highest allocation the behemoth Ministry of Works, Housing and Power has a line items repeated 7 times i.e. “Generation of 700mw from Zungeru Hydropower project is duplicated 6 times!
These are just the duplication, what about the appropriateness of the expenses? The State House Hospital, just one hospital gets more allocation than all of Nigeria teaching hospitals combined….
Let me be very clear, the State House Medical Center get a proposed capital appropriation of N3.8b, the combined total of the capital vote for ALL teaching hospitals in Nigeria is about N3.0b….no wonder the capital vote is high this year….
Could the equipment being purchased for the State House Hospital not be installed in the National Hospital, so all Nigerian can use it?
I am just disgusted….
This has implications for all of us. You see in any budget, you list your revenues, then your expenses, the difference is either a deficit or a surplus….in Nigeria case it’s a deficit, a deficit of N2.2t….to fund this N2.2t, Nigeria will borrow $25m a day, yes Twenty-Five Million Dollars a day! you and I will pay for this borrowing, remember oil has crashed, that’s why you’re seeing “stamp duty taxes everywhere
The defense given is that we are borrowing to fund the capital vote, to build roads and rails, this is false. We are borrowing because the recurrent vote has been bloated with numerous repeated “N400,237” and “N1,278,682”. If the recurrent vote is properly audited and these duplication cleaned out, the difference between the revenues and expenditure will fall, and subsequently the borrowing will fall….
This budget is a fraud in intent and content, and truly I am ashamed this fraud has been presented and has been actually passed to second reading….so this will pass? We will actually spend more capital vote on one hospital than ALL teaching hospital COMBINED?

To be sincere with you... Its a dead weight and there is no point in dragging this issue. The manual accreditation form provided by INEC was way short of what that was required. I remember in my polling unit, the form we were given for manual accreditation was just to service about 30 people. When we had close to 200 people that were unsuccessful with the Card reader. And the issue of electoral violence in rivers was greatly exaggerated. Electoral violence was in all the states, Lagos included. I believe the Supreme Court's judgment is for the greater good of the people.

You should appreciate the significance of that ruling on two grounds;

2.saved us lives and properties. Unless your Peterside's relation, that was looking at having your family member in the government house. huh

PoliticsRe: Supreme Court Ruling: Wike Vs Peterside: Why The Opposition Should Be Worried by Johnrake69:
@ngeneukwenu. The above write up is really faulty. Infact, Inec should even be tried for using a General Election to experiment on a new procedure. I was a presiding officer and I can tell you that we would have had a huge crises on our hands if the manual accreditation was not adopted mid-way the election. How do you explain to Emeka, Musa or Ayodele that he can't participate in the election because the card reader couldn't capture his thump print, when his name is in the voter's register and he is armed with his PVC. Thank God for the Supreme Court. If you really cared to understand the stand point of the Supreme Court. The issue of the card reader was simply that of electoral guideline. And that posed the question of whether electoral guideline was more important than an electoral act.
