iphie25:1. Check if your occupation is on sol or nominate a closely related occupation that you can prove. Also check the quota percentage to know if you still stand a chance. You can search for occupations and assessment info on www.anzscosearch.com & Dibp site. 2. Write English test (PTE, IELTS, Toefl) based on your preference and your skill assessment body requirement. 3. Check your assessment requirement from your assessing body and submit your application providing them with the necessary documents. 4. Calculate ur points based on your situation. Info on this can be gotten under skilled worker visa section on www.border.gov.au just go through the site and you would see all relevant info. 5. Submit your EOI if you have up to 60 points and wait for invitation. 6. Lodge visa and make payment after invitation. Frontloading medicals, PCC and form 80 may help fasten ur processing. I dont know any Lawyer and i dont think you need one. Every info you need is at your finger tip...all you need is personal research and also take time to read through this forum as well as Australia PR threads on expatforum.com. PR application is treated on a personal basis and no lawyer or agent can guarantee you the visa. Just do the right thing and u will get it. |
mctowel01:I think your assessment outcome depends on the Engineers Australia assessor handling your application. Some people with postgraduate work experience in good coys still don't get assessed as Engineering technologist cos their Assessor wasn't satisfied with their CDR so i seriously doubt if he/she will be satisfied with just your internship and sch project to classify you as a Professional Engineer. I wrote my episodes based on my experience and backed them up with my companies reference letter as stated by EA. I guess you mixed it up. I declared my work experience in both EA and Dibp application but didn't just claim point as i already had 65 points without it. |
Okosay:Give me ur dropbox ID so i can share the link with you. |
mctowel01:EA doesn't accept PTE. There is no time limit from thr day of graduation but main issue is that you have to write a 3 episode CDR based on projects you have been involved in. You can write an episode on your final year project but you need 2 more episodes which would make more sense if they are based on your post graduation work experience even if its just 1 yr experience. |
Marisley:Got your PM. Would respond shortly. |
iphie25:It has to be the exact exam they want. EA for example accepts only IELTS & Toefl but dont accept PTE. |
jukeblam:Thanks I included left but ticked them as irrelevant except the recent 2 years plus which wasn't enough to claim point. |
Jetspeed:Thanks boss. How far with your stuff? |
chuckdee13:You will definitely get your desired score bro. |
chuckdee13:You can say that again bro, its really miraculous. Had 65 points (Age 30 + B.Tech 15 + English 20). I guess my processing was faster cos my app was simple and there wasn't much to verify as i'm single, have no dependant and didn't claiming work experience point thereby didn't submit any work related document. |
OmogeNG:Thanks bro. Really appreciate |
KIKIADE:Thanks I wouldn't say i really prepared that hard for PTE but i think why i was able to score high was simply because of the exam structure. It involves more activities compared to Ielts that made it more interesting and i took it with the mindset that i was just playing around with an English app on PC which eased off the pressure but took the timing very seriously like i was truly writing an exam. The 2 materials i used for practice were Pte macmillian testbuilder which i got on expatforum and the Pte test simulation given to me by scrollmeout. I can share this files with you via dropbox cos they are too heavy to be sent via mail. |
Ifexsco:Thanks bro. I think they started faster priority processing for 189, 190 & 489 from Sept 2015 as i saw on their website. Most people now get PR in 1-2 months time even though i agree mine was fast. Scrollmeout also got a Case officer just 10 days after appying. Are you claiming points for work experience or have a lot of travel history? Asked because those are the major causes of delay. You would get your grant pretty soon. |
So speechless right now. God has finally perfected it...you would recall i posted earlier about PTE and my EA assessment sometimes in December. Well, Just got my 189 visa grant and still cant believe my eyes. Everything just happened too fast than i expected and i just knew it was God all through. Here is my timeline below: 1st PTE: L90, R78, S79, W90 (27/11/2015) PTE: L90, R86, S87, W90 (09/12/2015) EA Applied: 16/12/2015 EA Outcome: Positive (22/12/2015) EOI Lodged: 22/12/2015 EOI Invitation: 7/01/2016 Medicals & PCC: 08/01/2016 Lodged: 12/01/2016 (Frontloaded Medicals & PCC) Medicals Cleared: 18/01/2016 Grant: 29/01/2016. To the PR hopefuls out there, i pray you all get your grants soonest than expected. Really appreciate everyone in this house from inception including those that had left from bossladymo, Jennykadry, ferdimako to bellong, NNBB2012, scrollmeout...the list goes on. |

PTE scoring is more fairer cos its done by a software unlike Ielts where your speaking and writing is scored by an examiner. |
iceberg54:EA Assessment is a walk through that you can get in 2-4 working days if your CDR and CPD are on point. I'd advise you take a chill pill and face PTE first because that is the major determinant of your PR journey. Said this because 20 point from PTE would give you 65 points which simply guarantees you fast invitation when you submit your Eoi as there are many people with 60 point in the pool waiting for invitation. You should be able to bag 20 points considering your IELTS score...just prepare well and get familiar with the exam format. So the steps are; PTE - EA Assessment - EOI |
BKings:Replied you bro. |
. |
2 pcs left...going going |
mrnilobrawn:Thanks bro, all i used to prepare was the Macmillian PTE test builder i got from someone on expatforum's PTE thread in addition to the Test simulation i got from scrollmeout. Can share them with you via dropbox. |
KIKIADE:Apologies if it sounded harsh. Expatforum is very broad and you can learn a lot from there. |
jayooh:EA accepts just Ielts and would start accepting Toefl starting from January. |
Want them gone today. |

Still available. Priced reduced to 180k |
KIKIADE:PTE should have an Ibadan centre but i think a simple google search on PTE Academic registration would have given you an instant answer to this question. I don't think there are any recent ample CDR's out there and EA does anti-plagiarism check and would detect no matter how little. Just download the Engineer Australia MSA booklet and follow the instructions there to write your CDR...its not that hard as long as what you're writing is truly your own work. For 189 point calculation, i suggest you spend at least little time to read through this forum as it has been discussed more than a million times or better-still go to www.border.gov.au and read through the visa point requirements. N.B: When it comes to making life decisions to migrate or proceeding with a visa application process especially PR, i think its always better if a little personal research is done at least because no one on this forum is an agent and we all got our info via personal research and spending unlimited hours reading through forums like Nairaland & Expatforum. Saying this because i still can't believe you just asked how to register for PTE Exam. Regards |
Jetspeed:I took both exams at the Pearson Education office in Ikeja. I think they have about 4 centres in Lagos alone. |
Sharonlass10:Its relative...but PTE still seems to be a better option. |
