dulux07:Why are you not proud of yourself and your race. Self hatred, inferiority complex. |
Nobody is going to respect black people until we develop our continent. I don't understand why we are not tired of the embarrassment and humiliation we suffer all the world. Yesterday it was U.S., today india, tomorrow Lebanon and the list goes on and on. The black people are suffering from inferiority complex, they don't think they are human beings until they travel abroad. This inferiority complex doesn't no no boundaries even, the Gorv, minister, senator are guilty of this. We need to start using our common sense to educate ourselves that this foreign countries don't want us. |
tarantino1:How are you? You sound like an intelligent person that seeks knowledge and wisdom. like you righly said, i had it good in U.S. because i never worked in U.S. throughout my stay. I started my business while i was a second year student, and was lucky to have met my wife who worked very hard with me while both of us were in the university. America is a great country, but most Nigerians couldn't see or understand the system that were laid down by the founding fathers. It usually takes about 20years plus before a Nigerian begging to understand structures of that country and by that time it usually too late. This what happened to a lot my colleagues. In America as a black person you never going get rich you might be comfortable because the system is not designed for you to be rich. They usually findout when they are in their 50s or early 60s that America is not a joke except those that have foresight like me. I discovered very early about 2years when i got to America that the place is not meant black person and i started planning for my exits which took almost 30years. America will make you feel you're on top of the world, nice house with 30years mortgage, nice cars with 3 to 5years payment. Nobody owns anything in U.S. Banks owned it all. In about 15years ago, i knew 3 of my colleagues that are millionaires by American standards, today they are broke and 2 of them had strokes and being assisted by their town's people. These people don't have anything in U.S. and don't have anything in Nigeria either. And that's how most Nigerians in U.S. will end up because 80%of people live pay check to pay check. You can Google this. The Nigerians that will survive this are the ones that plan for their retirement in Nigeria like i did. The moral of the story is if you're doing fine financially in Nigeria stay put. Because success in America is temporary and most people discover this towards the end of their life. You have to be in your late 60s or early 70s to relate to this.So your uncle and cousin are new to the system and will soon find out as time goes on. I know at least about 10 Nigerians that have passed away over the years in U.S. and these people die poor including a professor. You can e-mail me anytime for further discussion. Thanks. |
EgunMogaji2:Thanks you. God will bless you for me. There are 2 types of Nigerians. 1. There are Nigerians by birth only 2. Nigerians by birth and by choice. The Nigerians by birth only are the ones that talked bad about Nigeria, the ones that travel and don't look back. 2.The Nigerians by birth and by choice, are the ones that lookout for the best interest of the country, the ones relocate back to Nigeria after their studies. |
EgunMogaji2:Please e-mail me, i live in the area. |

Mr.Breadman, it's so had and sad to be talking people who refused to see logics in discussions. There's no Nigerian that have spent over 20years or more in U.S. that will not agree with me. My wife and i are the reference point of discussion among our colleagues in U.S. and have nothing but respect for us. They always wondering how we made the transition because this is the initial goal of every nigerian in U.S. is to go back to their village one day. What you guys don't know in Nigeria is that nobody owns anything in U.S. Banks owned it all, your house, cars, iPhones, the insurance and even the clothes on back is sometimes purchase on credit. That's why you have more homeless people in U.S. than Africa because 80% of people live pay check to pay check and this is main reason why your Nigerian brother in U.S. is stucked because is broke. And about $3 you mentioned that's about 40000knaira monthly, even the Government does not pay that a month. So that's a credit to my personality. If 50% of your brothers can duplicate this in your village don't you think that will reduce unemployment and crime in your village. Because I'm creating employment in my village and not in your village.Thanks. |
thatthing111:Believe me it's not easy. It takes people with forthsight to plan the relocation. And most Nigerians don't have the resources to relocate because it's too expensive. As you know that land cost around 20 to 30m. in my area and majority of Nigerians in U.S. can't afford it. Anyway thanks. |

At my age, i don't have to lie to prove my point. But if you don't believe me e-mail me and i will give you the details. I'm staying with my daughter in North Hollywood and i was telling her that i have to video the homeless people in Los Angeles because the situation is unbelievable. There's no point to be arguing with people like you because you've suffering from inferiority complex. |
EgunMogaji2:Thanks you my brother. This is what this young generation doesn't know and they call you enemy of progress if you try to discourage them from migrating to foreign countries. I know about I0 Nigerians that passed in the past few years and they practically die poor including a professor. The professor took a reverse mortgage on his house which means he only worked all his life for shelter and food. What a life? Another one passed away towards the end of last year and the family was collecting donations for his burial. Most Nigerians in U.S will die poor because the system is rigged against the black people. |
Xuxu208:Well said. I have a lot of respect for your understanding of the subject matter unlike some of the these people that called me enemy of progress. Thanks |
KendrickAyomide:Silence is the best answer for a fool and ignorant. Who is asking you not to migrate? Nigeria will be developed without people like because you don't have anything to contribute. Your brothers are all over the foreign countries catching hell from the white people, go and join them. Nigeria don't need people like you anyway. |

You're wrong. I'm enjoying myself in Nigeria with my American wife and i travel to U.S. at least twice a year on business trip and to see my children. As a matter of fact, I'm in Los Angeles now as I'm typing this message, i came here in January on business trip and got stuck due to corona virus. I relocated back to Nigeria because i want to contribute to the development of this great country called Nigeria. I have 35 employees in my organisations. I spent about 1m. every month on salaries. As you can see I'm not a frustrated American returnee. Most Nigerians refused to come back because of shame, nothing to show for all their years in God's country. |
Hndrrxxx:This is the of reasons why some of us try to discourage some misguided youth who are bend on migrating to U.S. and Canada at all costs. Youths who are ready to trade thier freedom in Nigeria to slavery and humiliation in these foreign countries in the name of there is no 24/7 electricity, no healthcare, no good roads, no good education and all excuses in the world to escape their responsibilities to their people. And most of them don't pay any taxes to the government. Ask the generation that left Nigeria in the 70s 80s 90s 2000s, they are still going through the same humiliation and slavery that you are witnessing in the media today. These Nigerians are stocked over there and lack resources to relocate back to Nigeria. These white people are evil to the highest order, please take it from someone that have spent 35years in U.S. before relocating back to Nigeria. |

tarantino1:I'm one of the generation that traveled in late 70s and relocated back to Nigeria in 2010 with my American wife. So I'm talking from experience, and 90% to 95% of my colleagues are still over there. In fact, I'm in Los Angeles as I'm typing this message, i came here in January on business trip and got stucked due to corona virus. I see them anytime i travel to U.S. which i do twice a year on business trip and to see my children. Most of them are regretting that they left Nigeria. One in particular really got to me, he said if anybody had helped him to come U.S. in 1978, either by buying him airlines ticket or even helped him to the American embassy, that he will be raining curses on that person now and i asked him why will he do that? He said will tell the person, look at me now, I'm almost 70years old and don't have anything in U.S. and don't have anything in Nigeria. I only being to nigeria once in 40years when i lost my mother. He said he cannot retire from work and that he will have to die working. Believe me, it happens. |
JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:What are you talking about? I'm sure you live in Nigeria, and wants to migrate to U.S. in the nearest future. That will be the only reason you have this type of view point without having any experience to back it up. Yes africans go to U.S. out ignorance and some of will redily trade in their freedom in Nigeria to go and enslave themselves in U.S. for food and shelter. Because they lack capacity for logical thinking and that's why they being trafficked all over the world. Nobody, has respect for Africans because most of them preferred slavery than freedom. Especially Nigerians. Black athletes and musicians excelled in their fields because there are better than the white counterparts and that's why they are well paid. |

Go and the generation that left Nigeria in the 70s 80s 90s 2000s ,they are still going through the same humiliation and slavery that you are witnessing in the media today. These Nigerians are stocked over there, lack of resources to relocate back to Nigeria. They were ignorant like you wanting to reap where they did not sow. The white people developed their countries for their own children not for the africans but these Nigerians will rather go and enslave themselves over there than to develop their own country. |

Rgade:NIGERIA SITUATIONS (Let's talk sense) Nigerians are the most educated ethnic groups in U.S. and Canada. They are present in Medicine, Engineering and other professions. But they are still one of poorest immigrants in U.S. and Canada. YOU SAID WHY? Other nationals with little or no education control the economy of U.S. and Canada. INDIANS, control about 65% to 85% of middle to lower end of Hotels and Motels businesses in U.S. and Canada. ARABS, control about 65% of convenient stores and junk yard businesses in U.S. and Canada. HISPANICS, CHINESE, KOREANS AND OTHER ETHNIC GROUPS, control other businesses such as automobiles Reasurant and retail outlets. Even some African food stores are been run by Hispanics in Los Angeles. NIGERIANS, control certificate and degrees that cannot be passed on to the next generation or create employment for their people. That's one of the reasons why other nationals can contribute to the development of their countries and Nigerians can not, because they lack resource to make any meaningful contribution to the development of Nigeria. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IS WRONG WITH US? I JUST WANT TO KNOW. |
vulpeslopez:My brother sorry to about your troubles with American embassy and nothing your father could do about it? Nobody will advise you not to travel, I'm just trying to advise based on my experience and what i see everytime i visit U.S. There's nothing anybody can tell you about U.S. until you come to see it for yourself. The only way i will advise anybody to travel abroad is if you're the poorest of the poor and you can't afford to feed yourself. Then you can travel, I'm saying this base on my experience and seeing some of my colleagues that are still over there. We all can not run away from the country and also remember where you're running to, those people doesn't want you. They are only trying to accommodate us. |
rs172:When Dangote registered his business i was still in the university so i couldn't come back to Nigeria plus fingers are not equal. You have to follow you dream in life nobody owes you anything including Nigeria. I read a lot about successful people including Dangote so i knew his history. You're still very young to be making excuses in life, you complain about 24/7 electricity and water, good roads, effective healthcare and education. Let me ask you how many people pay taxes in Nigeria? America did not give me anything free and i believe if you use your God given common sense you yourself can make it in Nigeria instead of you waiting for someone to come and dash money so you start your life. With your mindset life is going to be difficult for you. |
AfricanWahala:God bless you. Same here. I came here in January on business and got stuck. I relocated back to Nigeria in 2010 after about 35years in U.S. I tried to explain to these young generation that nobody is going to respect the black people until they develop their continent. Running away from the country is not going to solve any problems they are just going to U.S. or Canada to enslave themselves for food and shelter. That's is it. Sometimes i just feel that most black people prefer slavery than freedom. I just can't understand how some people will sell their properties and move abroad. God bless you and keep safe. Thanks |
partnerinbiz3:I'm very happy to share this with you guys. Nigerians are the most educated ethnic groups in U.S. and Canada. They are breaking record in universities and colleges in U.S. and Canada. They are present in Medicine, Engineering and other professions. But they are still one of the poorest immigrants in U.S. and Canada. Why you said? Other nationals with little or no education control the economy of U.S. and Canada. vulpeslopez:Please understand me very well,I'm not trying to discourage you, these people I'm talking about are my colleagues which i see every time i travel to U.S. Most of them are regretting that they left Nigeria, most of them could not come home for their parents funerals not that they don't want to come but they can't afford it. You don't have to take my words, go and ask questions. And anytime, i run into any young people like you, the first thing they complain about is that we didn't know this place is like this and i always tell them that if anybody tells you America you we say enemy of progress. First, what do i have to gain from holding any young person back, i give the same advise to my boys anytime i visit U.S. I always tell them they are wasting their time in U.S. I didn't allow our last born to do university education in U.S. He did it Nigeria. He does visit his brothers and sisters in U.S. but doesn't like to stay more 2weeks because he sees the struggle that his siblings go through on daily basis. You will not appreciate what I'm saying now but i pray to God to grant you your wish. |
jubrilELsudan:You're 100% right. But they won't believe you, they are thinking you don't want them to travel abroad. The young generation lack capacity for research. What happened to Nigerians that left in the 70s, 80s,90s and 2000s, most of them are still there struggling to survive. The only way i will recommend anybody to travel abroad if you're the poorest of the poor, no university education and you can't feed yourself then you can travel. Because, America or Canada is a journey of no returns. 90% to 95% of Nigerians will die and be buried over there. Go and ask those that have been over there for 20years and above. Is a journey of no returns. |
rs172:America, London or Canada is a journey of no returns 90% to 95% of Nigerians in those countries will die over there do your research. I'm really sorry for you because you don't know what you're talking about. Firstly, nobody is telling you not to move to U.S. or Canada or do i stop you from going to the embassy no. Secondly, I'm not telling any young man not to travel, this is their prerogative. All I'm saying is do your research very well , find out what happened to Nigerians that left the country in the 70s, 80s,90s and 2000s. Right now, 90% to 95% of Nigerians in London, U.S. or Canada will die over there because Nigeria is beyond their rich. They have no resources to relocate back to Nigeria. Ask anyone who have stayed in U.S. for over 20years or more. These people were young like you when they left the country with the hope to make a better life for themselves. How many of these people have come back to contribute to the development of this country that you know? Do you know is more easier to make money in Nigeria than U.S. or Canada, this is the message I'm trying pass on to the young people, instead of going to abroad to waste their time and 30years from now be regretting their actions. If you're one of the poorest of the poor, that doesn't have any hope in Nigeria and you have opportunity to travel out the take the opportunity you might be one of the few lucky one. God bless your hustle. |
rs172:I was about 19years old when i left Nigeria and i left because of education. At that time, we only have 4 universities in the country as a result some of us do not have a choice but to travel out of the country. My children were brought back to Nigeria and 3 of them finished thier secondary school education in Nigeria. Hey, i pray for you IJN to grant you opportunity to travel to U.S. or Canada and in about 20 to 30years now, you will comprehend what I'm trying to convey to you. As I'm typing this message, I'm in Los Angeles stuck because of corona virus and i will be leaving once the boarders are opened. I will not even mind to sponsor you, just for you to go experience what I'm talking about. |

As we all know that one Yoruba proverbs, (ISE OMO ASEJE, OWO OMO ASELA). Please somebody translates this for me. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IS WRONG WITH US?. |
rs172:You asked why i didn't stay in Nigeria? I was ignorant like you at the time and don't have anybody to advise then. Dangote registered his business 2years after i left Nigeria. He never left Nigeria and so many others. Nobody will give you anything in America and I'm not trashing America just telling the structure that was set up over there. And it's a slavery system and i repeat it's a slavery system. |
Himalayas:Good talk my brother. But most of these people will not listen to you, they think you don't want them to succeed in life. But they will find out in due course. |
anath:This is jojoseph, i understood that you have been trying to reach me. The nairaland has my e-mail address. |
DexterousOne:You don't seem to understand what I'm talking about. The system is rigged to favour the white Americans. All these my colleagues that die poor, these people worked very hard in their life time. Try to talk to some Nigerians that have lived in U.S. for 20years and above they will tell you the same thing. |
. Universities that are not even top 10 in africa.
. Despite Nigeria claiming giant of africa, and having vast resources
