Romance / Relationship Talk: When Does Cheating Become Unacceptable? by Jonifech: 12:15am On May 26, 2018

Is it ever wise for cheating to ever be pardoned under any circumstance or for any reason?

In a general sense, cheating has been said to involve relating with others in such a manner that leaves your partner betrayed and feeling some type of way.
Cheating is quite difficult to define in an all-encompassing theory because it is controlled by emotions and not logic.

So obviously, what is seen as cheating varies from person to person and reaction to it is just as different.

Seeing a partner with another woman at a restaurant could be seen as cheating to one person.

For another person, that partner needs to be caught embracing or kissing that woman before it will be classified as cheating.

Regardless of differences, we can all agree that cheating can be found in the following acts: spending too much time with another person, calling a particular phone number too often and for too long, sexting, exchanging nudes, sex, lewd chats online, denying marital or relationship status, buying intimate gifts [underwear, lingerie] for another person, being close friends with members of the opposite sex, etc.

Having established some of the most common things that people see as cheating, the question now is, when does cheating become unacceptable?

At what point does it become ‘justifiable’ to dump a partner who has been caught doing something you regard as cheating.

Is it as soon as the cheater is caught, or only when it is reported to you? Or do you have to see it for yourself before you reach a breaking point?

Does cheating become unacceptable when a partner cheats once, or after they do the same thing over and over again?

While many people will be quick to say they will leave anyone who cheats on them even once, is it actually sensible to leave someone who cheats and sorely regrets it, promising to never do it again
Wouldn't it be better to to give them another chance?

In season two, episode five of Issa Rae's "Insecure," Molly discovers that her father had cheated on her mum and instead of dumping him as she should, her mum remained in the marriage and was even all happy and glowing on their 35th wedding anniversary. [It was at the ceremony she found out, actually]

Her mum's reason? Her husband had made her happy more than he had hurt her!

Now this is not to say everyone who cheats should be pardoned. But it's just a pointer at some of the mitigating factors that real life people sometimes consider before allowing cheating end their marriages and long-term relationships.

Different strokes for different folks, so the answers to the question will surely differ from person to person.

Regardless of the choices though, it is clear that choosing to remain in a marriage or relationship where one person has cheated is subjective to the circumstances surrounding each case, and how tolerant and forgiving the cheated partners are.

Health / NAFDAC: CPC Commends Agency For Checking Codeine Abuse by Jonifech: 6:45pm On May 17, 2018

CPC has commended the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control for its decisive regulation on production and distribution of Codeine.

Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has commended the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for its decisive regulation on production and distribution of Codeine.
Director-General of the council, Mr Babatunde Irukera, made the commendation in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Irukera said that the council welcomed all meaningful efforts to address the rising cases of “abusive consumption of controlled substances’’.

He said the council on April 10, issued an “Advisory’’ that publicly called for a ban and prohibition on the prescription of cough medication containing Codeine.

He, therefore, said that the outright ban of the product by NAFDAC was commendable.

“Protecting citizens’ addiction and the harm done by abuse of controlled substances must remain a priority always, to the exclusion and sometimes, at the expense of commercial considerations.

“The council will deploy its entire apparatus and resources to support NAFDAC, Ministry of Health, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other relevant agencies to enforce this ban.

“It will deploy resources to also prevent access to codeine and similar addictive substances.

“The council advocates and encourages a strong and zero tolerance approach to access distribution or proliferation of these substances or any combination of chemical properties that have similar effect.

“We will also ensure that production and availability of legitimate medication remain inviolate and uncompromised,” Irukera said.

Romance / Quickie: How To Make It More Meaningful by Jonifech: 7:07am On May 15, 2018

There’s absolutely no shame in having a quickie, read on for awesome ways to make it more meaningful.

There are certain types of sex that are intimate of sex are intimate, sensual, and gentle. However, making love does not include a hot quickie.
According to Elle Chase, a certified sex educator and author of Curvy Girl Sex “When people think about quickies they think about something that’s slutty, but it’s really just a kind of sex that can be extremely satisfying and erotic”.

Also, having a quickie can be much fun as spending hours drooling over your partner’s body. So discard the idea of a quickie as a midpoint to a fast orgasm and concentrate on being able to connect with your partner.

Below are few tips on how that quickie sex can be more meaningful.

1. Lube up
Since quickie happens really fast, that means you’ll probably need a little help getting wet enough to make any kind of penetrative sex happen. So for people who have vaginas, getting fully stimulated can take up to 20 or 30 minutes. So, lube is an important part of the process.

2. The eye contact
In order to make sex more intimate, you need to look into your partner’s eyes. It might feel weird at first, but looking into each other’s eyes and holding each other close can help you and your partner connect.

3. Be creative by trying something new
Just if the quickie is happening in the comfort of your home, you might want to try something creative, fun and more erotic. So if you are scared of trying out a particular style, you might want to try out that kamasutra position now.

4. pre-intimacy is essential
pre-intimacy is essential if you are trying to have full penetrative sex. Even though you have a lube, pre-intimacy is still important. At least 5-10 minutes on pre-intimacy won’t hurt anyone.

5. Clean up quickly
Having baby wipes makes cleaning up after a quickie session really fast. Use them to clean up down below, and to wipe away any sweat that might have built up while you were getting it on.

Food / Strategy: Whole Foods Is Retiring All Of Its Loyalty Programs Before Integrating by Jonifech: 1:47am On Apr 19, 2018

Whole Foods is ending all of its rewards programs and online features in May.

Whole Foods has announced it is ending all of its online programs, including its loyalty programs and digital coupons.
They will be phased out in May.
The change is in anticipation of Whole Foods’ integration with Amazon Prime.
Amazon is bringing more changes to Whole Foods.

The organic grocer announced on its website that it will be discontinuing all loyalty and rewards programs, effective May 2.

“Something great is cooking with Amazon,” Whole Foods’ website reads. “We can’t wait to tell you about it.”

Whole Foods is ending its pilot rewards program, digital coupons, and online accounts, including the recipe box and shopping lists functionality.

The rewards program for Whole Foods 365, the more budget-oriented version of Whole Foods, is also ending on May 1.

Amazon has plans to make Prime the rewards program for Whole Foods customers. It’s not yet clear if that will be immediately implemented when the current programs sunset, but the integration has been expected for a while now.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos teased the changes in his most recent letter to shareholders.

“We’ve also begun the technical work needed to recognize Prime members at the point of sale and look forward to offering more Prime benefits to Whole Foods shoppers once that work is completed,” he wrote on Wednesday.

In March, a Whole Foods in Austin briefly hung up banners that advertised discounts for Prime members.

The two advertisements in the store showed that Prime members could get exclusive discounts on anything marked with a blue sale tag, known as Prime Member Deals.

“Blue signs mean special deals for you. Yes, you,” the Prime Member Deals sign read.

And for items marked with the store’s typical yellow sale tag, Prime members would get an additional 10% discount on top of the already reduced sale price, according to the briefly displayed signs. The discounts have not yet been implemented, and it’s possible they were displayed in error.

Prime members had previously been given discounts at Whole Foods, primarily on things like turkeys in time for Thanksgiving and roses before Valentine’s Day.

Amazon also started giving 5% cash back on Whole Foods purchases with its Prime Visa card in February.

Health / Politics: Americans Are Starting To Worry About The Possibility Of Trump’s Trade by Jonifech: 5:11pm On Apr 13, 2018

Nearly 30% of people surveyed in the University of Michigan’s consumer confidence survey brought up Trump’s tariffs and the possibility of a trade war.

The University of Michigan’s consumer confidence index declined in April, in part due to worries over President Donald Trump’s trade policies.
29% of respondents brought up Trump’s trade moves — and an overwhelming number of mentions were negative.
President Donald Trump’s trade battles are starting to worry the American public.

According to the new University of Michigan consumer confidence survey, more respondents are starting to express concern over the potential effects of Trump’s tariffs on metals and Chinese goods.

Richard Curtin, the chief economist for the survey, said in a statement that while overall consumer confidence remains high, the trade issue is starting to weigh on the number.

“Uncertainty surrounding the evolving trade policy has caused many small (and at times inconsistent) changes in expectations,” Curtin said. “Spontaneous references to trade policies were made by 29% of all consumers in early April, with nearly all the mentions negative (27% out of 29%).”

The survey also found that consumers who brought up trade as a concern are significantly less enthusiastic about how the economy will perform over the next 12 months than those that didn’t mention trade.

“The Expectations Index was just 64.2 among those who made negative comments about trade policies, while among those who made no mention of trade policies, the Expectations Index was 93.9, a substantial difference,” Curtin said.

If taken alone, expectations of people who didn’t mention trade would be at least a 5-year record high for the entire index. On the flip side, the 64.2 level for people who did mention trade would be the lowest reading for the entire index since October 2013.

Many economists share these same fears, since tariffs have been shown to generally push up prices and depress economic activity. A report released Thursday by the conservative-leaning Tax Foundation found that Trump’s tariffs would shave 0.1% off US GDP and cost 79,000 American jobs over time.

Tariffs push up the prices of imports in an effort to push businesses toward domestic-made products. Since those domestic goods are already more expensive than tariff-free imports, businesses either have to eat the cost or pass it on to consumers.

“Consumers who negatively mentioned trade policies also anticipated that the year-ahead inflation rate would be 0.4 percentage points higher than among those who did not spontaneously mention Trump’s trade policies; there was a differential of 0.2 percentage points for long term inflation expectations,” Curtin said.

Daniel Silver, an economist at JPMorgan, said the slide in the index is not surprising, especially considering the recent stock market swoon that followed Trump’s trade announcements.

“This disappointed relative to expectations, but some softening in sentiment is not too shocking given the weakening in equity markets over the past few months as well as what seems to be a string of negative headlines in the news,” Silver said.

Politics / Buhari: President Extends VAIDS Deadline To June 30 by Jonifech: 4:56pm On Apr 11, 2018

The approval for the extension of the deadline is contained in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extension of the Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) to June 30.
The approval for the extension of the deadline is contained in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the short extension after the original March 31 date is based on the appeals of professional bodies and individual taxpayers.

The statement, however, maintained that no further extension of time will be approved after June 30.

It stated that a new date was also given, based on the conviction of the Ministry of Finance that the overall objective to increase compliance will be attained, and additional revenue will accrue.

It said that a Fresh Executive Order would be made to give legal backing to the new timeline.

“For a nation of people who are competitive and driven, it is not a pride that we are the lowest performer in tax to GDP, not just in Africa, but in the world.

“Nigeria’s growth needs are such that every Nigerian must do his duty to his nation, to his neighbour, and to himself.

“Hiding monies overseas, evading taxes by manipulation, and other unwholesome practices, have never developed a country, and for Nigeria to attain her true potential, these must stop,’’ President Buhari was quoted as saying in the statement.
The President urged Nigerian companies and individuals to join government in the rebuilding mission, “and do the right thing by taking this window of extension to regularize.”
He added that the right thing may not be convenient or comfortable, “but in the long run, we will all have a nation we can be proud of.”

President Buhari further urged tax authorities to use the extension window to perfect plans to prosecute those who fail to regularize their tax status.

VAIDS is one of the key policies being used by the Federal Government to reposition the Nigerian economy and correct inherited underdevelopment.

The country has one of the lowest tax collection rates in the world at just six per cent of GDP. This was partially a function of the reliance on oil that saw us abandon the historical revenue collection systems and switch to a culture of sharing resources, rather than generating them.

President Buhari had in 2017 inaugurated the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), and the VAIDS tax amnesty is first in the series of reforms that will transform our tax system and provide sustainable predictable funding for all tiers of government.

Tax revenues will ensure that public infrastructure is provided, and public services are funded to improve the lives of the people.

Technology Market / Finance: MMM Announces Ultimate, Irreversible Closure Of Operations by Jonifech: 4:57pm On Apr 07, 2018

The platform says participants are fully aware of risks behind MMM operations

The popular Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox (MMM), has shut down it System and operations globally after the death of its founder, Sergey Mavrodi.
Mavrodi died on March 26, 2018, and his death put uncertainty in the face of MMM global participants when the System was put on pause mode to honour his exit.

In a statement posted on its global website on Friday, April 6, 2018, the Ponzi scheme platform said the continuation of the System operation without Sergey Mavrodi, the ideological inspirer is “impossible and makes no sense.”

The statement pointed the attention of participants to the pre-registration warning which clearly states the risks attached to every participant on its system.

The statement reads further: “After much deliberation, we have made the conclusion that continuing the System operation, without our leader and ideological inspirer, is impossible and makes no sense.

"We all carried out the tasks he assigned to us since we had no doubt in his genius and rightness of the path he had chosen. We are firmly aware of the fact that none of us has a full view of his conception’s profoundness and sequence of all the actions to achieve a final goal, declared in the "MMM's Ideology".

“Sergey Mavrodi's broad-mindedness scale is unprecedented. Therefore any attempts to continue the System operation without him are bound to fail. We respect him immeasurably and cannot afford to allow that our unskilled actions may cause profanation of his concepts."

"In view of the above, with deep sadness, we have to announce the ultimate and irreversible MMM closure.

"We also remind (as a matter of form) that all initially were fully aware of the risks and read the WARNING and confirmed that by checking the relevant box when registering."

"Hoping for your understanding, Administration."
MMM gained ground across major African nations in 2016 largely due to economic meltdown witnessed by the two largest economies – Nigeria and South Africa.

Recall that Nigeria government and other relevant agencies have warned Nigerian participants to stay away from any Ponzi scheme that is not duly registered or within the regulation of the government.
