Both projections for Ethiopia and Kenya if juxtaposed shows Kenya will still lead ahead! But I'm a fan of trickle down economics,GDP doesn't show that much.Look at Nigeria for instance! As for Tanzania overtaking Kenya?....Oh dear!

1. Kenya closed the gap because of recession. Right now the gap is increasing, you can verify for yourself

2. They were not growing fast enough. Simple. The gap between Kenya and Ethiopia right now is about 20bn, Kenya's growth is 6pct Ethiopia 8.pct, you'll expect them to catch up in the next five years right? But no, the gap between Kenya and Ethiopia will be steady for 2-3 years then Kenya will slowly and surely pull ahead (base on the current growth projections) again you can verify for yourself.

3. Regardless my point still stands, it doesn't matter if Tanzania is growing faster than Kenya or not, the gap between these two countries will keep increasing because of a low base. Unless Kenya goes into recession, slow down to a crawl and TZ doubles it's growth rate.

Cashew-nuts will take time,it's all about political will.It's not a priority project for the national government.The counties are the one dealing with it.Don't even think of comparing Bogota City with Dar!

Kenyan troops who took part in a joint training on counter terrorism, disaster and emergency response in Tanzania will return home on Sunday.

The group of 60 comprised officers drawn from the KDF, police and prison departments who joined their counterparts from the EAC member states in a two-week Command Post Exercise training in Dar es Salaam.

The skills exchange programme was attended by more than 300 security officers from five countries of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

The exercise, code-named Ushirikiano Imara 2017, was held at the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces Peace Training Centre in Dar es Salaam from December 4.

The exercise has been held annually since 2011 and is organized on a ratational basis among the EAC partner states.

It is based on disater management, peace support operations and counter-terrorism and piracy.

The Kenyan contingent was led by KDF chief of training Brigadier Charles Kang’ethe and CPX deputy director Brigadier Godfrey Buluma.
