They lack brains but still make more revenues than the ones from TZ! Kazikazi: But how will they upgrade while they lack brains? |

Why can't you talk of heart operations? Or the progress of our longest speed train in Africa? |

They will come and talk of Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Centenary City ,Apolonia and blah blah blah NairobiWalker: Exactly - Nairobi is a skyscraper city. I am a big fan of Accra though despite the fact that it has no single skyscraper - the city is designed like Washinton DC, low rise buildings but amazing architecture and wide roads. I also love Abidjan though it's remained stagnant for a very long time - at some point it was the most developed city in SS Africa outside South Africa. I wonder what happened. Nigerian cities on the other hand are all mouth. Non of them excites me. Maybe if that bonny island was a big city it would be something. |

Kengen has been toying with the idea of supplying electricity to the Naivasha SEZ. KETRACCO,ERC and KENGEN seem to be visionary,KPLC seems to be the weak link in our energy sector rvp2018: Yeap - I am also worried about our Kenya power - we really need more than one company - otherwise if they screwed up like they are doing - public has no options except prop it up. South Africa cannot do with Eskom. That gives Eskom incredible power to mess around. Whatever happens - South Africans have to clean up Eskom mess - or the turbines won't turn - and soon you're in Nigeria mess. Nigeria mess is hard to come out - it a system of distrusts - customers don't trust the power company - so big consumers (like Dangote) start generating own power - leaving power companies with poor little customers who are not profitable - the distribution company can't pay the producers - producers can't turn the turbines - and it become a spiral to the bottom. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 11:12am On Feb 16, 2019 |
The only painful way to get out of the mess. The inflation looks likely to shoot up when that move is taken into effect at the time the economic growth is hovering at about 2 or 3 percent! rvp2018: I think Ramphosa as businessman knows what need doing - I think his proposal of splitting Eskom is long overdue. I am suprised it has NOT been done. Nearly every African country was forced by WB to split their "ESKOMS" into several companies 20yrs ago - in Kenya our Kenya Power- was split into a regulator, transmission company, generating company and distribution company. I think once that split is done - South African can hike the price of electricity for some time to clean up the balance sheet of Eskom - and help them pay off their debts. |

I will someday, never stepped into it save at the boarder. When compared to Kenyan standards,I reckon things must also be nice to my pocket.I know some Kenyans who take their children to international schools in Uganda, the fee they pay isn't far off from what you'll pay in a typical Kenyan private school! It's like a Brit who will afford a high-end apartment in Nairobi but wouldn't do so in London! tylann: Try Uganda |

BOOM! vaxx: Very correct and that explain why Nigeria are tropping in to Ghana. get the cedis, change it to naira and send it home. the cedis then buy them alot.
The cost of three bedroom flats in Ghana will build six in NIGERIA or even more. . Nigeria working in Ghana are more like European burger when they go home . |

This means that the avarage Ghanian can live like a King in Nigeria! Cheaper may not mean better but may mean most people are poor.If I go to Dar in Tanzania,I might buy an apartment for half the price I would buy in Nairobi or even way lesser than that,I find things cheaper.Been there and experienced it! Ask any Kenyan who visits our neighbouring countries! vaxx: Ghana is a middle income country not a low income like Nigeria. A bottle of coke is nothing in GHANA.
in Ghana, a bottle of beer can buy three bottle in Nigeria yet people still drinks to stupor. people club like never before. Ghana nightlife is unmatchable. GHANA dont sleep |

Most are still in progress,I can't tell if this was actualized but lot's of roads have been built! 10,000 km isn't a small number looking at the high costs of building roads in Kenya. Seen lot's of 10 million dollars per km roads! They are planning 8000km of new roads quoting the 2019 Budget policy statement. Will they deliver? Only time will tell! tylann: How about the promise of paving 10,000km of roads Did it get actualized

The thought of a 3b-4b USD superhighway connecting Mombasa and Nairobi which was already connected by two railways didn't ring any sense to me.We are planning to add 8000km of roads as of by 2022.Quite ambitious but this is welcomed! rvp2018: That was a stupid proposal. I am glad Treasury didn't sign it. At least not yet. I think we need to dualize roads based on solid demand projections. For now Nakuru - Nairobi make economic sense.. actually Rironi to Total...should be dual. Then Nairobi maybe to Emali - and Mariakani to Mombasa. Then in all the major towns have by-passes that are dual - and continue with interchanges. Basically KENHA should be left alone to decide what needs to get done...based on traffic surveys. |

The magic didn't work though! tylann: Kinjekitile ngwale must be a distant anscestor of kazikazi Witchcraft didn't work well for them at that time They were murdered en masse by the Germans Then came another comedian with ujamaa policy His villagation ideas made Tanzania one of the countries in the world Despite being rich in mineral resources |

How dumb of Tanzanians to think that the waters of River Ruvuma mixed with millet and some other crazy stuff would save them from the bullets of the Germans? Their warriors came out bare chested with this waters sprayed on their chests and backs with a lot of bravado thinking that the magic concotion would act as a bullet proof. The architect of this murders was their medicine-man non other than KInjikitile the son of Ngwale whom was much revered by the warriors and the whole community at large. When the battle began, they were murdered in minutes.I remember my Social Studies teacher telling us this story in primary school back then.RIP to the dead but the MAJIMAJI REBELLION was pure comedy gold from the Tanzanians! tylann:
