safarigirl:Then we also listen to journalists who have inside information about what transpires in camp. Folks like @guysly2much, @muyiwalawal, @oluwashina, @RandaAndrew. Infact, the first two are big critics of Oliseh, yet they support him in this saga. Take time to read their accounts on twitter. |
Goke7:Are you telling me that coaches everywhere in the world get permission from their FAs to choose their captains, leave players out of their squads and select players that will play matches? |
You all should read Oliseh's twitter timeline to see what transpired. Imagine Enyeama calling Oliseh "Albino" in the presence of the players. |
If the reports I am getting from camp is anything to go by, then Enyeama was clearly in the wrong. Trouble started when they had a meeting after the Tuesday training session, which Enyeama did not participate in because he was busy talking with a member of the crew eventhough he knew that only Carl Ikeme is the goalkeeper available. So Oliseh called a meeting and said he'd like Ahmed Musa to captain the team for the Congo clash. That was where trouble erupted. Enyeama would have none of that. He stood up in front of everyone and was said to have rudely interrupted the coach's speech at this point, the Lille keeper insisting that he was the captain, not Musa. Enyeama was even fighting for Mikel, most senior player in the team to be captain for friendlies not Musa when it became obvious that he would not be playing. This interruption apparently riled Oliseh, who ordered Enyeama to let him (Oliseh) address his players in peace. But Enyeama continued talking, raising his voice at the coach. When Oliseh could not take it anymore, he ordered that Enyeama leave the venue of the meeting as he felt the keeper was undermining his (Oliseh's) authority. When Enyeama refused to leave, Oliseh asked for the goalkeeper to be forcibly removed from the Verviers Hotel camp by security men. Why should Enyeama not accept the verdict of the coach? Hell was not let loose when Neymar replaced Silva as captain of Brazil. There was no arguments with the coach when Mascherano was replaced by Messi as Captain. What right has Enyeama got to oppose his coach? Anywhere in the world once a new coach takes over he decides who will be his captain, that's standard, if he does not choose you, then you have to sempe. Super Eagles is not your father's property. Ahmed Musa will captain the Eagles just for the game VS Congo DR ironically Enyeama won't play that game so why was he causing trouble. Enyeama was quoted to have made alot of caustic statements. Enyeama said this words "Who is Oliseh?" So Oliseh sent him out of camp to show him who the boss is. Enyeama told Oliseh what have you done that I have not done for the Super Eagles, what did you win that have not won,who are you? #Crazy Enyeama told Oliseh how long were you in the national team? This is my 13th year you can't come in here and start misbehaving #Crazy Anyone supporting Enyeama on this issue is supporting indiscipline. NFF on their part overruled Sunday Oliseh, what message are they passing by undermining the manager's authority? And no, Enyeama did not apologize to Oliseh. He even went on instagram to say that Oliseh insulted his mother, something that never happened. Dude is very childish. NOTE: I have my sources in the Eagles and it all points to the fact that Enyeama was clearly in the wrong. linked:Bros, that's all I've been saying o. He says he's not there so it is worth it when he does not get games at City. He says he has potential yet he's happy when he is an unused sub. Nobody here has said Kelechi is Messi or Ronaldo or Sanchez. All we are saying is that his development is heartwarming so playing regularly is welcomed and even deserved judging by what he displays when he comes on. Even his coaches and City fans echo the same, but no, Icon wants us to be pessimistic because Ogbeche did not eventually play for Bayern Munich. |
WHEN EDUCATED PEOPLE SPEW NONSENSE PART I The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, on Friday said he held a meeting with Saudi authorities on the ongoing investigation into the recent stampede in Mina, Mecca. More than 747 Muslims, including 64 Nigerians, lost their lives and 805 others injured at a stampede on the way to Jamarat complex (stone throwing site) on September 24. Addressing pilgrims during a visit to South-South and South-East camps in Mecca, Sanusi said Nigeria had already requested from Saudi authorities a fair and transparent investigation. The emir said he had met with Saudi Minister of Hajj Affairs, who had promised a thorough investigation. *** PART II Sanusi said “Vehicular movements were restricted in parts of Mecca on Arafat and Jamarat days all in an effort to have hitch-free movement to the stone throwing site. But unfortunately and as God wishes, there was stampede in one of the road leading to the stoning complex. “All of us have our time. No one can spend more than a second when it comes. The stampede cannot be stopped by anyone as that is an act of God,’’ he stressed. *end of quote* Here's why I will never understand religious belief. How do you say what's in Part I & in the same breath say what's in part II of that report? Why thorough investigation into something you already know it's an act of God? Why trying to prevent a reoccurence since we can't spend a second beyond the moment we've been destined to die? Would this kind of mentality affect our attitude to protection of human life? So if we investigate & we can't find anything wrong, we should conclude that it's an act of God? We should throw in the towel & not investigate further than our current understanding just because we need to squeeze God in into our explanations? How stupid does that sound? |

Chukwu to Oliseh… You can’t coach Eagles from Europe FORMER Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu has warned current Eagles gaffer Sunday Oliseh in clear terms that he cannot coach the national successfully from Europe. The captain the victorious Green Eagles team that won the Nations Cup for the first time in 1980 in a chat ahead of the two international friendly matches against Congo and Cameroon said that Oliseh needs to make up his mind on how he wants to coach the Super Eagles. “The first thing that Oliseh should do is to reflect on how he was discovered and brought into the Super Eagles as a player from Julius Berger FC of Lagos. What he is doing at the moment with the national team is short a term plan where he will just call up players from around Europe and get them to play for the national team.” However, Chukwu pointed out that the problem with the short term plan is that he will never get the best out of them because the players hardly have enough time to train together and build an understanding that would help the team.” “ As a former chief coach of the Super Eagles, the truth I need to tell Oliseh is that he cannot coach the Super Eagles from Europe. He should take his mind back to how he was discovered and go back to the roots. He should develop both a short term plan and a long term plan. “The short term plan is what he is doing at the moment by calling up players for matches from different parts of Europe. The problem here is that the player who is scoring every week in his club may get to the national team and fumble. The simple reason is that the player already has an understanding with his other team mates who knows his every move. Same will not be the case in the national team until they get used to each other.” Speaking on the long term plan, Chukwu, who was also captain of Rangers International of Enugu in his playing days said Oliseh needs to take time off from Europe and spend more time in Nigeria. “Oliseh needs to take some time off in Europe by coming back home and going to match venues to see things for himself. That’s how he was spotted and brought into the national team from Julius Berger FC of Lagos. The likes of Friday Ekpo, John Ene Okon, Friday Elahoh, Daniel Amokachi, Uche Okechukwu, David Ngodigha, Peterside Idah, Ike Shorunmu and many more benefitted from the same system. “He cannot depart from the system because these are the only set of players that he can camp as long as he wants and impact his own pattern of play into. “Players he identifies over a period of time based on their consistency week in week out are the ones he can put together and inculcate in them his own style of play that will differentiate him from others before him. The reason most players run to Europe is simply because only foreign based players are given preferential treatment sort of. The players in the league don’t want to spend time in the domestic league because they no longer believe that they will get the same opportunity as their foreign based counterparts. So, if Oliseh builds the nucleus of his team around the domestic league players, he would get the desired result in no time,” Chukwu stressed. completesports |
Eagles won’t miss Moses, says Oliseh https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Oliseh.jpg Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has said that Victor Moses’ absence in the double header international friendly matches against Congo DR and Cameroun in Mons and Denderleeuw will not affect the team. Moses, who was in action for his London club West Ham United in a 2-2 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in Saturday’s English Premier League for 55th minute, said he was pulling out in a precautionary move against injury. Earlier, Turkey–based defender Kenneth Omeruo was ruled out of the matches owing to injury. Oliseh, while regretting this setback, assured that the team have enough good quality options to fill the gaps left by both players. “We have no choice now but to work with the other players who are available,” Oliseh said. “The fact that the other batch of players from home were not issued their visas last week is also setting us back because we would really want to take advantage of the time to put in a lot of work.” Meanwhile, reports from Turkish club Kasimpasa suggest Kenneth Omeruo will be out for just two weeks, allaying fears in certain quarters that the injury could keep the defender out for a long time. Omeruo is, therefore, expected to be back in the Super Eagles group in November for Nigeria’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against the winner of the Djibouti/Swaziland first round fixture. http://thenationonlineng.net/eagles-wont-miss-moses-says-oliseh/ |
Nigeria: Why the Desperation Over Nigerian-Born Foreign Youngsters? In the last few days, the Nigerian media space has been awashed with stories centered on the invitation extended to the Arsenal young player, Alex Iwobi by the Super Eagles technical crew ahead of the oncoming international friendlies against Cameroun and Congo. Iwobi was an addition to the list earlier released by the Super Eagles handlers. While some sports pundits believe the action was in order, others are of the opinion that more attention should be focused on the youngsters in the domestic leagues. It is a fact that established and upcoming players of Nigerian origin abound all over Europe. No wonder, successive national team handlers always take the long journey to Europe to scout Nigerian-born players with dual nationality with the intention of luring them to pledge their allegiance to Nigeria. When Sunday Oliseh was appointed some months back, his first focus was to convince stars in Europe who have linkage with Nigeria through one or both of their parents to play for Nigeria. One of the success stories of such trips was the capturing of Carl Ikeme, the Wolverhampton Wanderers Goalkeeper who shone like a million stars in the AFCON qualifier between Nigeria and Tanzania in Dar Es Salam last month. Another player who has dumped England for Nigeria is Iwobi. With nine goals in the under-21s' final nine games of the last campaign, powerful forward Alex was the academy's form player in the second half of last season. Alex has an abundance of skill and pace, and was rewarded for his exciting performances with a place on the first-team bench for Arsenal's Champions League tie at Galatasaray last season. Naturally a winger, the Lagos-born attacker - who is the nephew of former Bolton star Jay-Jay Okocha - was converted into a central striker and caught the eye with a hat-trick against Stoke City at Emirates Stadium. Others who are still being monitored are; Chelsea's 18-year old Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell, Arsenal's Chuba Akpom, Dominick Iorfa Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool's Oluwaseyi Ojo, 20-year old Watford's Uche Ikpeazu, Barcelona's U17 team captain, Bobby Adekanye amongst others. Truth be told, most of these players are doing well in their respective clubs. For instance, Chelsea's Solanke who plays for Dutch club Vitesse on loan has represented England up to under-18 level. After getting approval to play in the Netherlands from FIFA, Solanke scored his first senior goal in a 4-1 victory over SC Cambuur, coming in off the bench with 15 minutes to go on 30 August 2015. Solanke primarily plays as a striker; however he can also operate as either an attacking midfielder or a winger. Former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo has said that Solanke "works really hard," has "got very good physique" and "a great touch on the ball". He went on to say: "He's quick but often what impresses me the most is when he looks like he's lost the ball, he somehow manages to get out with the ball, no matter how tight the situation is or how difficult it looks" In the same vein, Akpom who is presently on loan to Hull City from Arsenal has been a bit part of the Arsenal's first team setting over some years now. He is one of the latest "big things" to come out of the Gunners academy. The fast and strong striker has represented England in the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels and is being tracked by the technical crew of the English Senior team already. He could be snapped up any moment from now. Besides, Dominic Iorfa, the son of a former Nigerian international footballer of the same name was part of the youth system at his local club Southend United before joining the academy of Wolverhampton Wanderers at the age of 15. Having made his debut at the start of a 4-game unbeaten run, Iorfa became a fan favourite and a regular to the first team. In January 2015, Iorfa won the football league's Young Player Of The Month award, and that same day went on to assist a goal in a 3-0 win for Wolves against Fulham. Liverpool's winger, Jordon Ashley Femi Ibe is another player being courted by the Super Eagles hierarchy. So far, the Nigeria football Federation has not been able to convince him to pledge his future to Nigeria. The winger is a player that will add bite to the Eagles' attack, no doubt. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has described Ibe as a player with a "bright footballing brain" who has the versatility to play as a winger on either flank, as a playmaker or as a striker. Steve McClaren, who managed Ibe during his loan at Derby County, saw Ibe as an exciting player "like the old jinky wingers we used to get in the game" while Andy Hunter of The UK Guardian described Ibe as an "individual of impressive pace, power and control", who produces threatening performances and stands out because of his good temperament, intelligence, creativity and directness. Just like the other youngsters, he could be capped by the Three Lions any moment from now. A sports analyst, Dan-Wahab Musbau said the move by the NFF to convince the youngsters to pledge allegiance to Nigeria was the right step in the right direction. While noting that the foreign born players with Nigerian origin have been exposed to the best facilities and managers since their tender age compared to their mates in Nigeria. Dan-Wahab also noted that, though the local leagues should not be ignored, the country will need the inputs of the new generation youngsters scattered all over Europe. "I don't see anything wrong with snapping up players who are doing well abroad. We must scout them and convince them to play for the national teams. "If we must get the Super Eagles back to the top and amongst the best in the world, all players must be looked at, most especially those based abroad. "The problem is that most of these players have dual nationality and they could choose to pledge their allegiance to their country of birth if not approached early enough," the analyst noted. On his part, Gateway of Abeokuta's coach, Samuel Abimbola said going after the foreign players is in order since they are of Nigerian descent. "Their invitation is in no way undermining the chances of the local players. Any player who proves himself will get a call up to the national team," he pointed out. The former Sunshine Stars of Akure coach however, said the players must not be begged to play for Nigeria, stressing that " it should be by their own decision but if they decided otherwise, grudges should not be held against them." Iwobi has already taken the path of Victor Moses, Hope Akpan, Carl Ikeme, Leon Balogun and William Troost Ekong to don the Green, White and Green jersey but many others may follow suit soon. http://allafrica.com/stories/201510050081.html |

Pinnick: Oliseh’ll Win Eagles Trophies, Falcons Will Get New Coach https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oliseh.jpg President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick is confident that Super Eagles will win many trophies with Sunday Oliseh as coach. Pinnick told Complete Sports that with what the NFF under his leadership has been able to put in place these past 12 months, Nigerian football will thrive again and that the Super Eagles will dominate Africa for long. The former boss of Delta Football Association said that he is least perturbed by the recent dip in the fortunes of the national teams, stressing that the NFF has set up the machinery that can only take the country’s football back to the top. “We are aware of the high expectations of Nigerians and we are confident that the Super Eagles will win a lot of trophies with the way we have set up things in the NFF,” Pinnick said. “We are emulating the Germans who after an awful period went back to the drawing board and came out with a 12-year plan. “That 12-year plan has culminated in Germany winning the World Cup. We are optimistic that our football will return to the top.” The NFF boss said they are laying a solid foundation for a brighter future, adding: “Nigerians love winning all the time and I can assure them that Oliseh and the Eagles will give us plenty of trophies.” On the Super Falcons, Pinnick said the federation has put up an advert for a world-class coach to be hired for the national women team, noting that the coach that will be hired is expected to turn around the fortunes of women’s football in the country. “We are not restricting any local coach from applying if they have the requisite qualifications to coach Super Falcons. I can assure you that we shall hire a coach that will make the Falcons a world-class team,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com. |
Disu urges Oliseh to invite Martins https://punch.cdn.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Obafemi-Martins-360x465.jpg Former international Tajudeen Disu has questioned the continued omission of Seattle Sounders forward Obafemi Martins from the Super Eagles by coach Sunday Oliseh despite the player’s blistering form in the Major League Soccer this season. Martins has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances this season, and is on the verge of surpassing the 17 goals he scored last season. The former Inter Milan player has also won several Goal of the Week awards in the United States At present, Martins has the highest number of goals than any Nigerian playing in foreign leagues. But his exclusion from the squad for this month’s friendly games against Congo and Cameroon in Belgium surprises Disu. “Martins remains the highest scoring Nigerian player anywhere in the world but we have refused to invite him,” Disu told our correspondent on the telephone on Sunday. “I often wonder why he has not been invited (to the Eagles). Some say the MLS is not as tough as the leagues in Europe, but we have players from Arabian leagues in the Eagles. Which league is tougher between the two? The MLS is no longer as it used to be, it is now very big and top players from Europe are moving there.” The former Abiola Babes defender warned Oliseh not to bow to pressure to invite players not good enough for the national team. “At this stage, the coach should know who has the quality to play for the national team. Not every player is good enough for the national team. Oliseh should only invite the best players because he has just two friendlies to build his team (ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier next month).” Meanwhile, the home-based players invited by Oliseh for the friendly games in Belgium could not travel to Europe on Sunday, as earlier scheduled, due to visa problems. “We have booked tickets for the delegation to travel from Abuja to Frankfurt on Sunday, but that can no longer happen as their passports are still at the Embassy of Belgium. As things stand now, we can only leave for Frankfurt on Monday evening, to arrive in Belgium on Tuesday, if the visas are issued on Monday,” Super Eagles’ team administrator, Enebi Achor, said. The delay will affect Femi Thomas, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Austin Oboroakpo, Paul Onobi, Prince Aggrey and Chima Akas. Copyright PUNCH. |

OPIUM SERVED ON A PLATTER OF IGNORANCE The preaching was like a cocktail of lies and the whole place seemed a cult of self deception. Yesterday I listened to a big Lagos televangelist telling his congregation that the drop in oil income will not affect them and they will live in abundance, totally unaffected by Nigeria's economy. I felt let down. Yes, I know I should not, but I still did. I felt, why do these Pastorpreneurs continue to deceive the people? He ought to know better. He is sufficiently educated to have a more balanced approach. On the iceberg's tip, some of the parishioners he is addressing won't be home from that service until after hours in hellish traffic in a malignantly grown city that has no reasonable mass transport. I know people who are God-believers from different sects in Christianity who are suffering in this land as a direct result of economic downturn and lawlessness. They are being fooled to think Nigeria is not affecting them. They won't have friends, nieces etc who will be stopped from work? All those hungry faces don't affect you deeply? How can such people even pray for the country? How can they love the country? How can they serve with heart and might? It is silly arrogance and wilful blindness to say that's fact from the bible To deny those things puts you on an arrogant or a capricious pedestal or both. It is rubbish to try selling the notion that people can afford to be careless about society and expect to be ensconced in a bubble of divine provision. I know many honest religionists who are overwhelmed trying to help people financially but cannot do much simply because the inflow is just not there. God has not been proven to exist so he cannot print naira please. Money will come from innovation and productive work, not magic and rancid superstition that man was trying to establish as God's truth. Christians, even if gullible to believe in god without proof, ought to have some stability and clear headedness over these matters and stop exposing themselves to ridicule by saying daft and sloppy things. See, that preacher apparently lives in a bubble of tithes and offerings and he is not affected by the horrible Nigerian economic situation. Well, it is easy when people contribute for you to spend and you can become quite insulated and calloused. But those members face some reality at bus stops and inside filthy public transport and in the field of job search. Either you are being deceitful or deeply uncaring or both to preach that sort of thing please. Enough of self self self self self-centered homilies. Stop lying to them. I know it is affecting them and will continue to affect them! And as Nigeria gets better, you'll soon be out of business, Mr. Preacher. Mark my words! |
Icon4s:Now, that's nonsense. We may disagree but we're still a family. It's disingenuous for anyone to report you for airing your views. Like the Yoruba say, that we quarrel does not mean I should wish you dead. It's really uncalled for. I apologise on the behalf on whoever did this. |
Icon4s:Oga sir, welcome back from your self-styled exile. ![]() I have personally missed you. |
HOW GULLIBLE ARE YOU? If you are a god-believer and have decided one god is real and all others are fictional, I would like you to consider how hard you thought about this belief before you accepted it as true. How long did you search for contrary evidence? How rigorously did you challenge the arguments to ensure they are sound? How much did you learn about other gods, other religions and about atheism, before you came to your belief? You don't have to tell me the answer but be honest with yourself. Are you confident you have been thorough, open-minded and honest? If not, you should conclude you believe in your god, not because you have good reason, but because you are gullible. You don't have to admit that to me of course, but please, admit it to yourself. |
terzurum5:Great work, sir! |
BascoVanVeli:You really are defending the indefensible. Let it rest. He messed up, plain and simple. Giving excuses for him is annoying and bringing back painful memories that we'd rather put behind us. Sacking is the reward for failure the world over. He's not the first to be sacked, he won't be the last, that I can assure you. I wonder why we have to belabour this issue. |

UNRELATED NEWS Was God Angry the Day He Created the Nigerian? By Pius Adesanmi. Ottawa. Airport. In the lounge. I make a rich selection from the buffet and settle approvingly on a French wine. It's still three hours to the boarding of that flight to London and on to homeland. The plan: enjoy a meal, and settle down to Frenchwining while mentally visualizing the delivery of my speech, "Hating Nigeria to Greatness" at The Platform 2015 on Independence Day. Tweak the speech here and there. Envision the cadence of delivery. Envision stage management and body movement with Chris Oyakhilome's stage practice always a guide. You see, prosperity Pentecostal Pastors do have their uses after all. I spend hours watching Chris Oyakhilome's videos to learn from his uses of the stage... When you have such grandiose pre-flight plans, do not sit in front of a flatscreen in the lounge. Your plans will be ruined. It's a local TV station. News time. Dominated by the impending Canadian election. Then they mention funeral rights for some people who were killed by a drunk driver. Then the anchor says that the three contenders for the Prime Minister position have been weighing in on the tragic road accident which led to loss of lives. In Brampton, Ontario, two children and their grandfather were killed this week by a drunk driver. They show footage of Prime Minister Harper regretting the loss of precious Canadian lives in the said road accident. They show footage of the other contestants mourning. Everybody is lamenting the loss of lives on the road and calling for stricter measures against drunk driving. I marvel at the Canadian culture of life and thank God for the privilege of Canada. But my evening is ruined all the same. The expensive French wine is now bitter. My food is now cold. It is going to be a long agonizing flight to London. Why is Nigeria made differently? Why is the Nigerian made differently? So much value for the life of the citizen here in Canada. Above all differences, these bitter Canadian political rivals are uniting to value the life of the Canadian. A drunk driving incident leading to the loss of lives is making national news in Canada? Boko Haram will have to kill at least 100 Nigerian babies to make the news these days in Nigeria. The drunk driver who killed Canadians on the road will pay. No questions asked. Make the same guy a Nigerian and try to prosecute him. Then you hear: ======================================= Is he the first Nigerian to drink and drive? How many people did he kill sef? Yorubas are worse drunk drivers and nothing happens to them. Hausas are worse drunk drivers and nothing happens to them. Igbos are worse drunk drivers and nothing happens to them. Why are you witch hunting him just because he made a mistake of drinking and driving? Is it because he is a Christian? Is it because he is a Muslim? Go and hug a transformer if you don't like our culture. Go and die if you don't like our religion. Even in America and Britain, people sometimes drink and drive. Besides, this so-called drunk driver that you are witch hunting has contributed IMMENSALY to the development of Nigeria. You are just a hater for persecuting him. =================================================== So I ask my almighty God: who annoyed you the day you created the Nigerian? |
ANALYSIS: Why Oliseh should shun Ibe, but get Tottenham’s Dele Alli, By Jide Alaka The debate in recent times has been the issue of Liverpool’s Jordon Ibe and the chase of other half castes to decide for Nigeria’s Super Eagles. Ibe has since declared that he wants to play for England, thereby rebuffing the invitation to him cby Super Eagles manager, Sunday Oliseh. His decision has been met with a crescendo of boos from Nigerian football fans, who believe [me included] that we have better players in his position. A player like Victor Moses comes to mind immediately. But looking at the present national team setup, the most pressing need for Oliseh is not a winger – we have Moses, Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon to fill the positions on the wings. Oliseh has to find an authentic team conductor in the midfield. A player of intelligence, guile and strength, who will act as the conduit for the team – whether in attack or in defence. Obiorah Nwankwo played that position in the coach’s first two games and although he did averagely well, Tottenham Hotspurs’ 18-year-old midfielder, Dele Alli, would seemingly do much better in that position. Be careful with the younger players, the players who arrive in the Premier League and perform well,” Pochettino told Sky Sports. “It’s not easy. But again, like last season, it’s not my decision. It’s Roy Hodgson’s decision if he wants to call up Dele Alli. You can see he’s a player that is very mature and shows great quality but always in football it’s step by step and we need to be careful. He will mature. “He has personality and good character. But it is too much of a rush to talk about bigger steps for him,” Pochettino added. With Mikel Obi seemingly on a downward slope – at least with Chelsea, the Super Eagles need another conductor and Alli could be the player to fill those big shoes. That is just my thought. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/sports/sports-features/190791-analysis-why-oliseh-should-shun-ibe-but-get-tottenhams-dele-alli-by-jide-alaka.html |
NIGERIA REPLACE INJURED OMERUO WITH EFE AMBROSE https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/09/efe_ambrose_eagles_bold_portrait_7.jpg Celtic defender Efe Ambrose will replace injured Kenneth Omeruo for friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon. Omeruo suffered a hamstring injury in a league match for his Turkish club Kasimpasa this week and the severity of this injury has yet to be ascertained. According to the NFF official Twitter handle, Ambrose will take Omeruo’s place in the Super Eagles for the test games in Belgium. Versatile Ambrose has played at right fullback for the Eagles, but towards the final days of former coach Stephen Keshi he appeared to have fallen out of favour. He is now likely to fight for a place in his more familiar central defence role. Efe Ambrose who is making a return to the Super Eagles since 2014 was shown red at the weekend while in action for his Scottish club at the weekend. http://africanfootball.com/news/572277/Nigeria-replace-injured-Omeruo-with-Efe-Ambrose |

TheGoodJoe:Solace Chukwu is one of my favourite football writers. I wanted to comment on Esiti's exclusion, but I kept quiet so they won't say my own is too much. However it's glaring that Oliseh is failing already. He invited two super eagles materials from Portugal Shehu & Obiora. They both dont play. He's busy chasing Iwobi who doesn't make the bench but the talented Alli who plays regularly for Tottenham is not looked at. He was always criticizing Keshi for inviting bench warmers, yet he's towing the same line. Super Eagles wan tire me abeg. |
