DissTroy: Again, I am not seeking to convince you, sir. Not today or the day after.
A scroll down your Facebook timeline will flash the realities of the everyday Nigerian in your face. But we all already know this.
There's no point trying to convince a herbalist getting proper treatment from a modern hospital with trained doctors in better.
He'd always give anecdotes like someone who dîed of cancer despite modern healthcare to justify why guzzling 'agbo' works best - never mind the positives of modern healthcare far outweigh the negatives.
We already did this is 2022. We cursed, we trolled, we got banned, we aligned and realigned. It's a tired trope.
3 years later, in retrospect, we've all realized the dwindling econometrics care nothing about what side of the partisan divide you and I are on.
We all buy from the same markets, battle the same inflation, incur higher levies ,and have to watch on like incapacitated vøyeürs as our common patrimony is stolen without consequence.
There are fathers, uncles, guardians, brothers and nephews here. By September, regardless of who you fence for, be rest assured school fees will skyrocket because the inflation continues to climb. And you'll man up still because you must.
And none of us can rightly point to Obi as the reason for the hikes. Certainly not the reason wanton killings go on unabated in Plateau or Benue.
So, please deflect with questions dripping in whataboutism while ignoring the realities everyday Nigerians face TODAY.
May a better Nigeria be POssible. 🙂
Ma main man Kay. Are you familiar with Jason's Law of Corruption? 🤔
abduleez1: Yeah, maybe the times we watched ours may be a key differential.....but still quality shines through nonetheless. I might not enjoy something but I can appreciate the qualities and technicalities it took to bring something to life.
But this? This is pure trash. Maybe I would have enjoyed it the time it came out but that doesn't excuse it from being subpar at best.
I've watched 1950s movies older than Nigeria as a country itself and they were some of the best thing I've ever seen. But this? Nah.... This is just objectively rubbish guilty pleasure.
Oh well, I guess back then when we watched the movie, we didn't know there was going to be another vampire movie where vampires glow in Sunlight. Lol.
Still, From Dusk Till Dawn is a pretty damn good movie. Hope you won't complain when you watch Devil's advocate? Nah... I seriously doubt it.
Premium trashy 90s vampire fare. The most ridiculous and hideous looking Vamps I've ever seen. If they were tagged werewolves I would be more agreeable. Slow vampire, weak ass punks with the strength of a child. Ridiculous power scaling that people who just turned vampires several minutes ago could even have more strength than people who've been Vampires for far longer time and even years of vampirehood.
Trashy watch and mostly unbearable to watch. Asides the slight ridiculous comedy, it was gratuitously USELESS.
The first half of the film was the good part. The second half just descended onto shambolic comedic fare. The fun parts of the film was when Quentin Tarantino was still on-screen and the scene he wrote for himself "feet" Salma Hayek.
The third act just totally spoils the whole thing going on. Classic example of a movie, so bad it's good. I would have scored it better but the silliness was just too much to bear at the final 30mins.
It's actually funny watching this now and remembering hearing people say SINNERS plagiarized from this. The only thing they share are a few surface level similarities. While SINNERS was refined and methodical and a far better film it's even nonsensical to compare both, this one just excels in shittiness and not taking itself too seriously. How different can they be?
Seriously?
Anyway, if I watched this particular movie now, I probably would have rated it the same way you just did. But, seeing as I watched it back when DBN Night Shift was in vogue, I must have to tell you: guy, you fvck up for this your rating. Lol
phr0nesis: $1b is not possible $700m would be a miracle. It will still be profitable at the end of its theatrical run
That's suppose to be the whole idea. From the criticism Batman Vs Superman received, the movie is still successful. Honestly don't know why people think a movie making a billi is the only success attache to it.
Come to think of it, The Mask didn't even make half a billi, yet it was a very big success.
raumdeuter: In most cases you don't even know if the person is missing at 24hrs
Imagine a youth staying with you and goes to University but come back daily, he left home at 6am for school, what time do you have to report without violating police laws
It's what the law says bro, we can question it, but it is, what it is.
If a situation like this happen, and you give 5.0 this same reason you gave, you'd be amazed at how many replies they'd use to counter you. They know the law, and they know how to twist and counter it. It's why I urge every Nigerian to go get a copy of Police Act, so they can safe guard themselves against their excesses...
Still, you know what they say "if you want to kill a black man, give him a book to read".
raumdeuter: I know someone whose younger brother fled from home and he went to report at the police station
That was how he got detained for days and accused of using the brother for rituals
Na his friends come bail am out.
Later the missing brother came back
How long was his brother's disappearance, before he reported to the Police?
It's standard procedure when someone is missing, you report 24 hours, not after 24 hours. If after the appointed time, you'll be detained and become food for 5.0. Lol.
Many Nigerian government agencies use ignorance to feed on many Nigerians.
TemporaryHansel: I was on this thread live when Abduleez was confidently boasting that the movie would hit $1B without fail. Maybe he went back to edit his posts after reality set in, I don’t know , but I remember clearly how he went band for band with anyone who said it wouldn’t reach that mark.
And I’m sure others saw it too.
So, let’s see that $1B “strongly” he promised. Or are we pretending that bold predictions don’t come with consequences anymore?
wEll, it can still make a billi, considering the fact that it's barely 1 month in cinema and it's made 500 milli and counting. So, let's wait and see.
raumdeuter: Anything not to enter police station do it. If na to beg or settle just do it
There are people who enter police station to lodge complaint and became inmates for years
I wrote here sometime ago that if you comb Nigerian prison well you will see someone detained for rioting during June 12 still waiting for trials today
this usually happens when that person's give false information.
If the person you wrote petition against, counter petition yours to Area Command or Zonal Command, if investigated and it's proven you gave false info, chai. After police use you chop, you go hate your life.
TemporaryHansel: Abduleez1 better hope the movie gets to $1b.
the movie have already made it's production budget and 200 milli plus extra, I still don't want to know what some peeps think about it not being successful.
to everyone of you, who shared this period with you, while we are crawling, from our next mission, may we never be forgotten, because in the end, we are moving, one step closer, from running away, from the society, that keeps pushing me away, because in the end, I need a place for my head. yes indeed, this is my opening, to tell Chali, to bring the cure for the itch, because in the end, its my pleasure, being with you.
It's exactly the same with those who load luggages at motor parks and Okada riders. They can never afford what they charge other people, even in their dreams.
Very pathetic set of people. Very entitled and self centered. You'll see how they get angry when you tell them you won't fall for their unnecessary demands...
Nigerians need to be reminded on daily basis that, the law exists, and also, you just can't do anyhow just because you believe you have money or have connections, and even with your connections and money, you can't escape social media and activist groups, when you go against the law.
He is not serious. When his team was winning 2-0, the referee wasn't to blame. After Nigeria equalize and won the match, the referee is to blame. Tssk.
Ishilove: For those saying these things don't exist, I don't bother having any kind of conversation them. You'll learn, and you'll learn the hard way because only experience will teach you how very deep this life is. ONLY EXPERIENCE
abduleez1: HOT DAMN..... E be like say I don dey see vision. Isn't it few days ago I was talking about this Spartacus— House of Ashur TV series we were promised some years back and hearing nothing of it since we got a first look teaser a while back.
She was impregnated by an unknown person? Yeah right!.
She was 15 when she got shagged by someone who is probably older and who they want to keep his identity hidden. Whatever happened to statutory rape. Tssk.
