kobosmalls: Exodus 24:9-11New International Version (NIV)
9 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.
Compare..... ◄ 1 Timothy 6:16 ► New International Version who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen God being all invisible and a spirit, which one do we consider right here? Please consider and discuss the issue that this meme raises. no one has seen God. Moses and crew just felt the very presence of God . if you yourself can be holy you will feel His presence too. and it will be termed as seeing God |
Christianity Etc › Re: Forgiveness: Weakness Of Christianity? by jossyphobia(m): 4:02pm On Aug 14, 2016 |
iliyande: Forgiveness can be a powerful catalyst for change, benefiting anyone who hopes to let go of the past. People often sees Christians as weak simply because we obey the teachings and principles of Christ which is based on forgiveness and love.
Forgiving others may seem to be a choice, and in one sense it is a choice, but God has been very clear about forgiveness. He has given us specific direction in numerous Scriptures, all of which can be summed up in just one word -- forgive! God's Word says, "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins" (Mark 11:25). "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven" (Luke 6:37). It doesn't mean that you have to become friends with the person who's injured you.
Forgiveness doesn't mean that wrongdoing is ignored or condoned
It doesn't mean that feelings of anger and bitterness magically go away.
It doesn't also mean that you trust someone again just as you trusted them before.
It doesn't mean that you won't be hurt again.
Forgiveness can be very, very hard especially if the injury someone has done us is deep and lasting, the feelings of hurt and anger might keep coming back. We often assume when Jesus told Peter to forgive 77 times that he meant 77 separate offences – an extreme way of saying that there's no limit to the number of times we ought to forgive. But maybe he's also acknowledging that there's no limit to the number of times we might have to forgive the same offence. What has been done to us keeps coming back: the memory of injury or betray rises in our minds again, for the second or the 10th or the 50th time, and each recollection requires a fresh act of forgiveness.
But for Christians, forgiveness is more than setting aside revenge and more than just moving on with our lives. We aren't just called to forgo revenge against our enemies, we're called to love them. Loving forgiveness is an intention. Resolving not to take revenge is at best neutral. Resolving to follow in the footsteps of Christ, who even when he was dying on the cross prayed that God would forgive those who crucified him, involves a movement of the heart towards the other person – and that isn't possible without the work of the Spirit within us to transform us into the likeness of Christ.
But forgiveness, at whatever level, has to be free, or it isn't real. Now lets look at it this way. someone that keeps offending you and you follow Christ with 70×70times of forgiveness. Probably before you forgave that person, you have kept malice for days then later you forgive by being the first person to greet the person, now the person smile and said to you that you are not strong that she enjoyed the malice because the person is your boss. real forgiveness is seeing the person that kill your only son and you don't even insult the person. I pray for holy spirit to guide our actions. |

When my friends sees me with windows phone, they will start yabbing me that I dey try oooo dey use that kind phone, say they can't use it even if na dash. Not that I.m worried about the yabbing because I really enjoyed using windows phone based on the fact that the battery last long, the camera quality is superp and it does not consume data like android phones and so many other reasons.
But my question is..........
Why do people hate windows phones? just the way they did simbian to Java. they said its complicating to operate. |

One would have thought the right thing to do was for them to be of good character so people would love to join their religion of 'piece'. I think government is not giving the matter the attention it deserves. Christian leaders too are keeping mum. Why? because those who are with us are more than them. we don't need to plead Gods course. He can avenge Himself. though you might say should we now fold our arms and watch all these horror they perform? yes. that why the early apostles were martyred. some were not given proper burial. If you will have to carry the cross , you will ignore the pain of carrying. lets pray for divine intervention my brother. |
