The name Joleeta may sound new to some while others would be familiar with it.

Joleeta is an RnB singer who started her music journey many years ago back then in her state of birth (Jos Plateau State, Nigeria) before she moved down to Lagos for what others believed to be in search of a greener pasture.

For all we know, music is just like every other business, you must have enough money, talent, connect and good management without forgetting the grace of God to make it in whatever you do.

So far, the Boss crooner had dropped couple of singles and her latest is the cover to Davido's hit song IF. She dropped this after she moved down to Lagos.

Tragedy struck at Madaki Street, Bukuru metropolis of Jos-South Local Government Area in Plateau State on Saturday after an early morning fire claimed the lives of a couple and their three children.

The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Adam, his wife Maryam and their three kids; Abdul, Ibrahim and Fatima. The only surviving member of the family, Amina is said to be living with her grandparents.

An eyewitness said neighbours were alerted about the fire around 3:30am from the poorly constructed wooden kitchen of their one-bedroom apartment.

Another neighbour, Yusuf Abubakar, said they were finally able to put out the fire around 4am but the family had already been consumed.

Plateau State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna, who confirmed the incident said the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.

A supposed Online Clothing retailer with Instagram name “royal.fashionwears” has turned out to be a scam page, duping people of their hard earned money.

A lady Ann Chandyand, a Nigerian has fallen victim of a dubious online seller, the said lady transferred N16,2000 from her Diamond bank account into the supposed online seller’s account with the name Ademola Precious, unknown to her, she was dealing with fraudsters, after payment alert was received.

When she Informed them of the transfer and began to demand for the shipment of her good, the scammer claimed she did not get her payment yet and when she does, she would begin to dispatch her ordered goods.

After a day passed, Ann asked if she received the payment yet, Ademola Precious hurridly blocked her from their Instagram page.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, claims in an interview published Saturday that "for about 15 years, Buhari could not enter America on account of religious considerations."

This fictive concoction being passed off as truth is mind boggling, coming from a former Number Two man of Nigeria, who should know the truth. At no time was President Buhari, as a private person, ever forbidden from entering any country in the world.

Rather, the rest of the world has always held Muhammadu Buhari as a man of sterling qualities, strong on integrity, transparency and accountability. The same testimony is still borne of the Nigerian President by many world leaders today.

It is curious that former VP Abubakar had been asked why he had not visited America for over a decade, something that had been a stubborn fact dogging his footsteps. Instead of answering directly, he begged the question, saying Buhari also had been disallowed from entering the same country for 15 years, before becoming President.

We hereby make it resoundingly clear that what the former Vice President said only exists in the realm of his imagination. If he has issues to settle with American authorities, he should do so, rather than clutch at a straw.

Nigerian comedian, Funnygee, survived a ghastly motor accident that occurred while on his way to Kano state for a show.

According to him, the accident occurred while he was going for a show he was supposed to perform in Kano State after which the car he was in summasulted multiple times.

One Nikrus, a 200level University of Jos student has ended his own life for owing too much debts.

According to reports, Nikrus took his own life by drinking the deadly sniper liquid. It was also gathered that he owed accumulated huge debts from the different people. Out of frustration and not knowing how to pay back, he decided to end his own life.

Before his death, Nikrus was from the department of adult education. His burial arrangements have already been made.

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday expressed delight with the stabilising roles that the Eweka Dynasty of Benin Kingdom had been playing in the affairs of the country.

Speaking while receiving the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II at the State House, the President said that Nigerians have reasons to be proud of the stabilising roles Benin chiefs had played right from the colonial era to the current period, not only in the Delta region but the entire country.

President Buhari singled out the role of the immediate past Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa I, whom he described as his “back bone of support” when he was Federal Commissioner of Petroleum Resources and the late Oba was a Federal Permanent Secretary.

“I cannot hold back my emotions, talking about my relationship with your predecessor. After General Murtala Mohammed was assassinated, I was moved from the North-East as governor to Ministry of Petroleum. Your father was then Permanent Secretary. My relationship with him was very strong. I have lost count of the number of visits to his palace as Oba,” he said.

President Buhari praised the late Oba for “stabilising that part of the country because of his firmness. I must also commend the immediate past governor, Adams Oshiomhole for stabilising Edo State.”

Welcoming Oba Ewuare’s delegation made up of chiefs from other parts of Edo State, including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the President commended His Royal Majesty for following the footsteps of his predecessor while reiterating his support for the traditional institution.

“I know and respect the traditional institution. I try as much as possible to understand why the authors of our Constitution kept silent about their role,” he said, noting however, that this was probably the best thing way to preserve their neutrality.

“Your Royal Majesty, you are safe where you are,” the President added.

In his remarks, Oba Ewuare II, who commended the President for his handling of security matters in the country, urged the Federal Government to establish industries in the rural areas to curb unemployment, rural-urban migration and human trafficking.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has urged youth in the country to join political parties instead of sitting back to complain about the leadership of the country.

Osinbajo gave the advice at the emerging political leaders’ summit which held in Abuja on Wednesday.

Represented by Babafemi Ojudu, special adviser to the president on political affairs, Osinbajo said it was not enough for youth to always complain.

“Youth have a challenge in their hands for the future of our country; so, I advise you not to sit down and fold your hands and be lamenting over bad leadership or politicians,” he said.

“Get down to business, organise and do something to become elected political youths; after all, Enahoro became a leader in this country at the age of 23 and later moved a motion for the nation’s independence at the age of 27.

“The leaders there today will vacate the place tomorrow so if you the youths don’t start preparing today by getting mentored and learning the ropes.

“There is no way you will perform very well if the mantle of leadership falls on you tomorrow; so there is need for you to go in there and participate.”

Osinbajo, however, cautioned the youth not to expect that from the day they start participating in politics, they would become the president of Nigeria.

The Benue state University has allegedly issued a warning to all male students in the institution over growing of beards.

According to a photo posted by a Twitter user, @AndyMadaki, the university in a notice warned against growing of facial hairs by the male students.

The notice was allegedly posted in the school’s premises by the security unit of the office of the vice chancellor of the the Benue state University.

The male students are also expected to always leave their faces clean shaven without any kind of option.

However, reacting to the new rule, some Nigerians on the microblogging site said the school’s management was still living in 2007.
