When you use the term "official" in the title, it means you are implying that this thread was created by a representative of Xiaomi. If you are not a representative of Xiaomi, but maybe a fan/user, then the title is inaccurate. I still refuse to believe that a 4+ years old thread with 7,000+ pages was deleted/removed because of two pages of trolling. That is extreme and against the ethos of moderation. When a thread is being derailed, you ban the derailers. If it persists for whatever reason, you LOCK the thread for hours/days. Folks, don't sweat it. Remember Nairaland is not yours. If the owner/moderators choose to act against your reasoning, let them. Everyone is at liberty to visit nairaland or abstain. |
Dyt:You are easily triggered, Idayat. |
A troll sets out to troll. I know that. You know that. They know that. But when a troll quotes you, what do some of you do? You go right ahead to respond to them. Then they reply you... you reply them...the iteration continues. When pigs roll in the mud, they are thermo-regulating. It is a survival technique for them. When you roll in the mud with trolls, what do you gain? The satisfaction of talking back at them? Assuage your bruised ego? Aren't you delegating the power to hurt you to trolls? If a mad person screams at you on the street, what do you do? Scream back? Make a better choice. |
According to the Antutu chipset performance chart, the SD 660 is higher in performance than Helio G70.

Today is Children's day. I implore parents to do right by their kids. Instill in them the capacity to choose right, and refrain from wrong. Teach them the grace to bridle their heart's desires to their capability. You don't want your kids growing up to be ogbono soup pic thief on Nairaland. You don't want your kids creating multiple monikers, and conversing with them, so as to impress anonymous entities on the internet. If your kids can steal pictures of food on the internet and pose them as theirs, they can also physically walk into pastry stores and steal their pictures or food too. Thieves are menaces to the society. Do right by your kids. |
When your entire existence is of no traction that you would steal pictures of food on the internet and claim them as yours, so as to impress anonymous people online. Does the above describe you? There is a derailers' thread for your delusion. Take your nonsense there. |
I typed and deleted quite a lengthy post on how anecdotal fanboyism on this thread have subjugated quantitative analyses of chipsets. Perception instead of industry metric. It is tiring. |
A few days ago, Antutu published a chart comparing the true performance of Android chipsets. The chart will challenge some of your biases. Culled from gsmarena https://m.gsmarena.com/antutus_new_chart_compares_the_true_performance_of_android_chipsets-news-43287.php |
EepCrood, is there a sequel to the Crood? Sorry, I'm asking, your monicker made me remember the animation. |
In order for the oppressed to defend the criminalities of their enemies, they will come up with the most emasculating of logic that leaves them further violated and deprived. They are rarely concerned about the irresponsible thoughts, words and actions of people who are to this day, still beneficiaries of the criminalities of their ancestors, but would rather harass and disparage the victims as "too sensitive", "stuck in the past" etc For inhabitants of a country that were the subjects of perhaps the most vicious form of formal discrimination (slavery, colonialism and apartheid) to interpret "nigga or nigger" when addressed to a black person as having no weight as a word of racial slur in South Africa, tells a lot about the state of their own minds. Stop normalising your discrimination. Stop making excuses for your enemies. |
The Redmi Note 8 dusts it. Strength Samsung a30s: better screen display, better selfie camera Strength Redmi Note 8: gg5 front and back, better chipset, better CPU & GPU, better main camera, better screen resolution, higher RAM & ROM, IR, faster charging https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9796&idPhone2=9814 |
Is it not on this thread that I saw a website publication where Ramaphosa was referred to as "Churchillian"? I can't find it anymore. |
You want to do drugs and you do fentanyl Fentanyl is not a getaway drug. Fentanyl is not an easily accessible drug. For this kid to do and overdose on fentanyl suggests a deeper issue than just accessibility to drugs. |
RuudVanNisteroy:Read what you wrote and you will see that your logic suffers from false equivalence. |
Lionessza6:That PR money must be put to work lol |
TMKsouth:The bolded is what the optics wants the masses to think, and it's clearly working on you. Any Head of personal security who ALLOWS the President to venture outside unaided, even when done in compliance with the President's order, will be disciplined/court martialled. Understand with me that the moment one becomes the President, they become a national asset. Your security over-rides your personal freedom. |
Let me also state that Presidents, Prime Ministers, Governors and other top level political elites are not run up on impulse. It is always premeditated. Vector him, catch his ass slippin and wet him up |
It would take the height of naivety on the parts of observers and gross incompetence on the part of SA security services to remotely imagine their President is out there on the street without Secret Services staked out. This is just optics. |
This social media craze culture of recording everything. |
Nah, bro. If you can eat this , you can eat a human. |
It is against banking operation ethics for a bank to call customers on phone to verify an UNINITIATED/UNSOLICITED detail of a customer. The permissible time a bank is allowed to verify a detail from you is when your ACCOUNT OFFICER calls you to verify/confirm a financial instrument (as specified in your mandate form). Other than that, it is unethical for a bank to call you. If the bank discovers any error in your personal details, they will WAIT till when you come to the bank, irrespective of how long this takes. Be guided. |
faithfull18:That's the problem with criticism on NL. When someone picks apart another person's reasoning, it is interpreted as being personal. Nairaland is no longer the place it used to be. And oh, I subscribe my internet data with you. Not that this means anything, just saying. Edit: Let me add that I also don't like big devices, infact I detest phone sizes larger than 6 inches. So when I walked into a Slot store at Ikeja to get a supplementary phone, the only Xiaomi I could find smaller than 6" was Redmi 7a. That's what I chose. |
The phone didn't get bigger and longer after you bought it. So this means, you bought it without basic research about it, and are now complaining of its pre-existing form. That's silly. Xiaomi has a line of phones of various sizes. When you say Redmi 8 is overhyped, the obvious question is- overhyped compared to what phone and at what price point? I dare you to name any other brand's phone you know of that offers similar chipset and specs at the same price point of Redmi 8. Inability to download apps on a Xiaomi phone or any phone at all is a very basic problem to have, but can one even trust you have done the probable things to resolve it when you blame Xiaomi for willingly purchasing their phone of a certain size? Smh. |
This repair guy keeps hammering on the reduced price he did the job. Are you aware that you were at liberty not to agree to the amount if you found it unfavourable? The moment both of you WILLINGLY came to a negotiation on what amount to exchange for the job, the obligation shifts to the repair person to fix the phone as agreed to. Also, she is not the only person to complain about the shoddy handwork of your business. I have seen a bad review from someone else too who vented about inferior product used. |
Tmksouth and minxie have been so helpful. Thank you. You see, that's why I dismiss people who sit in Europe/US, who because they graduated from a school of African studies over there immediately confer on themselves "expert on African affairs". If you don't immerse yourself in a community, how do you understand the nuances? Nuances are affected by politics, economics, socials etc. Academic publications shun these segments, and local commentaries are wary due to fear or respect. About Coloured gangsterism, didn't SA army kill a gangster some months ago, that had notable people flying in from all over the world for his burial? That's some real shit. The claims by the coloureds I saw on twitter apparently refer to their history of gangsterism. How they never fold... |
Another question on Cape Town or West Cape I have observed on SA twitter when it concerns violence between Coloureds and others that reference is made, typically by the Coloureds, to their history of warfare or resistance. What is the history about? Cc: tmksouth, minxie |
TMKsouth:Thus the alienation. |
I have a question on Cape town which stems from me reading a book many years ago from a South African author, Peter Abraham. The book is called "Mine Boy". Are/were the majority of residents of Cape town before the 90s non-black? I understand how this may be a sensitive question but I have to ask because it was demonstrated in that book how discrimination existed even between the coloured and blacks. Does this have a role to play in their supposed uppity compared to, say, Limpopo? |
