They are not blood brothers, but are rather brothers adopted at different times with the younger brother adopted first and the older brother adopted second. Which makes the younger brother his senior in terms of that house

ekestic1976:
University of Maiduguri can take you straight to the doctorate level with that kind of result and their fees are comparably low. For example, a 2-year Master course is only N25,000. Asking fees for Ph.D in any course for the whole length of study is not more than N75,000, including all handouts, feeding and hostel accommodation. They're really having it cool in Maiduguri.

EducationRe: ASUU President, Fagge And Okupe On ChannelsTV by joxhibit(m): 7:24pm On Dec 03, 2013
I have been keenly following developments with relations to the ASUU saga with the Federal government on Nairaland and other social media networks for sometime now. It is quite disheartening to see the level of spite being meted out to the ASUU body from members of these social sites who i believe are mostly students affected by the strike. I cannot but wonder how many of these students truly understand the real situations of things before making such derogatory comments online. These are students who in the event of ASUU not accomplishing their goal will go back to school and complain about infrastructural decay and what have you. I have been a victim of the massive collapse of infrastructures in these so called institutions of higher learning and come by any means is am solidly behind ASUU cos' i believe that one of the reasons we produce half baked graduates in this country can be traced in one way or the other to poor infrastructure and lack of the basic tools needed by these lecturers to share their ideas. Most students would complain about the nonchalant attitude to lecturers to lectures, but i can tell you that if i were to be in their shoes i would also maintain a laid back attitude to situations. How can you teach chemistry without chemicals or laboratory equipment that are functional, how can you teach medicine without the proper equipments. So i implore these students to change from their ways and actively support their teachers in achieving this common goal. They can then at the end hold their teachers accountable if these things are in place and they are then found wanting. I rest my case!

CareerRe: Things Every Recent Graduate Should Know by joxhibit(m): 4:24pm On Sep 17, 2013
This is a very nice up and i think handy for every graduate. Having myself been in a similar position once. As at the time of my graduation from school, i had this idea that a nice job was out there just waiting for me to possess it! I was indeed shocked with the reality on ground when i got to the job market, it was as if everybody wanted nothing to job with a graduate without any experience, and for six months i was just roaming the streets of Lagos searching for that juicy job that every graduate dreams of which would pay me lots of money. I think i got the hang of it when nothing turned up and that was when i took a critical look at myself and decided to re-stratigize. I discovered that the only experience i had was the teaching job i carried out during my NYSC, this i used to my advantage-at least i had one year experience. The next step i took was to get a job in an extra mural centre for 6k a month, after about 2months and with the added experience i had gotten i moved into a school which paid me 12k a month. With hard work and focus i managed after a year to get another school which paid me 50k for a start. Here i spent 3 and half years learning about the profession and also getting myself equipped with computer skills and a post graduate diploma in education. Hereafter, i started getting offers to teach in top schools in Lagos, cos' i had networked with a lot of guys in these schools including the top people there in addition to earning about 85k at this time. But as luck would have it and with the skills i have acquired in education, IT and administration, i landed a job with an NGO paying over 350k a month. Now all this happened within a span of 5years. I guess 5 years is not too long a time to wait for that big opportunity. But the lesson here is starting small and aiming big. I believe am still getting somewhere, where? i can't tell, but one thing i know is that there is something big there. My advice for fresh graduates out there is for them to humble themselves and take up whatever they can find no matter how small the pay might be and then use that opportunity to build their network and gather more experience for more bigger things to come. Thanks

NYSCBefore You Become A Corper by joxhibit(op): 5:30pm On Nov 01, 2012
I came across this very important piece by Gerald Nwokocha from the daily Trust newspaper and decided that it will be nice to share this very interesting piece with all prospecting corp members. Enjoy wink
About this time last year, I was preparing to serve my fatherland. I didn’t have knowledge of most of the things that may be required of me. I spent a whole lot of cash in camp due to unpreparedness. If the prospective Batch ‘C’ corps members heed my advice, they will have no regrets.

Below are the list of things you will likely need:

• 16 Photocopies of statement of result, school ID Card, passport photo and Call-up Letter.

• 10 plain sheets of paper

• A Pen

• Stapler with your own pins

• Glue and Tipex (they say everything at the camp is for sale, you want to save as much as possible)

• A Cardigan

• 4 Round-necked white T-shirts

• 2-3 extra pairs of white shorts (all white)

• A pair of plain white Sneakers

• 2 pairs of white socks

• A pair of slippers

• Disinfectant

• Towel (bring from home. At least you know it’s clean. Anything you buy from Mami market may or may not be secondhand).

• Bed-sheets, pillow cases, and a pillow (bring from home). Again, the peace of knowing what you’re sleeping on is clean. Mattresses will be provided by NYSC. It is best to “double up” the mattresses, as they are about only one to two inches thick.

• Waist bag (try to buy this before you get to the camp, very essential, you have got to put all your money in it and tie it round your waist, because some people won’t come to camp with money and will steal)

• Torchlight and batteries

• Painkillers, medication for malaria, allergies (bring from home. You do not want to make the mistake of getting ill on camp. The camp clinic is a big joke!)

• Sun glasses/face cap: (It can get really sunny, especially in the North, but I’ll advice all to take sun glasses since you’ll be standing on the parade ground for long hours, unless it’s rainy season)

• Mosquito net (my friend says the camp is the headquarters for mosquitoes)

The Camp Commandant (the soldier in charge) and the other soldiers may tell you that if you participate in parade, play volleyball, and do all they want you to do, you will end up being posted to a favorable place for you Primary Assignment - lies! Soldiers haven’t got that power at all, maybe the Camp director and some NYSC officials can help, but not all of them have the powers they claim. Try and always be jovial and make good friends, you never can tell who will help you.

• Have fun but never agree to be manipulated or coerced into anything by anyone.

University of Lagos students should try and look at the brighter side of what Jona has just done. I guess their gross is in the fact the new name of the University is not cool when you pronounce it. My candid advice to the students is for them to set up a committee which will look into how to modify the new name so that it can sound sweet to pronounce and also sound cool. Names like UniM, UniMKO, UniJune 12 etc should be debated upon seriously. My regards to Jona and his boys for the courage to try this stunt at this time of desperation by both graduates and undergraduates. I am just looking forward to what our oga Jona will bring out of his box of mischief on October 1st. Nigerians should get ready, we are all in for a long ride with this guy who not only does not have shoes but also does not have any brains . Now we are beginning to understand why he had no shoes. No brains = No shoes Period!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Would You Accept N12,000/months As Salary For A 2.1 Graduate? by joxhibit(m): 3:35pm On Oct 06, 2007
i think that you should take the jobs because every employer of labour is not willing to give you something substantial until he has evidence of what you can do for him that is to say that you have to motivate your employee so that he or she can motivate you. with time i believe that if he sees what you can do he or she would not like to let go. i would give you an instance with my own case, i started with 15,000, but when my boss saw that i was good in computers, management and science, he not only offered to pay me 60,000 but went ahead to give me a house also, so be focussed. bye

frankly speaking i think that the whole idea of the fair had intially started on a good note but come to think of it if we are to take a critical analysis of the whole affair we would discover that we the graduates have indeed been used as cannon fodder for the benefit of a few. i think peopleprime just needed us to come for the fair in order to authenticate the whole affair so that the companies coming would actually view the whole situation as grand, but at the back the may have actually made up their mind about the people the would finally present to the companies grin grin
