REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Supervises, manages and audits all accounting processes
• Developing and managing a contemporary and secure accounting system
• Overseeing all necessary account balancing and payment reconciliations
• Verifying employee and project taxes and other deductions
• Creating and submitting government reports and tax returns
• Authorising the transfer of expenses into and out of project related accounts
• Investigating variances in project budgets
• Reviewing and approving supplier invoices
• Reviewing and approving overhead charges applied to all projects
• Investigating all project expenses not billed to customers and vice versa.
• Compiling information for internal and external auditors (also conducts weekly team audit)
• Completing requests for pay related documentations, including statements and verifications
• Sorting, coding and entering accounts payable data using the appropriate software
• Approving processed employee and contractors’ timesheets and overtime
• Code, post, and coordinate payments, transfers and deposits

Required Competences:
1. Excellent financial management skills
2. Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures and software
3. Strong knowledge of management accounting
4. Strong knowledge of procedures for entering, monitoring and adjusting salary distributions, benefits and deductions
5. Ability to effectively manage accounting and financial processes within stipulated timelines
6. Good understanding of policy and processes for making payroll adjustments or changes (e.g., overpayments, retroactive FTE changes)

Required Qualifications
1. Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree or its equivalent in accounting, international finance, banking and finance or a related field. An advanced degree and professional certificates will be advantageous
2. At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role dealing with complex accounting procedures and administration
3. Must be a chartered member of ICAN.
4. Knowledge and experience of working with multiple accounting software.

You sound like one that doesn't really have an idea on how it works, the concept of cheating is very rare in chess. The aspects of quitting too is another thing.

Despite the few scholarships offered to some of the children, it's a huge goal to ensure that all of the children under the Initiative have access to education. Most of them live in abject poverty and can't afford basic stationary items to even stay in school. With this in mind, a fundraiser have been created to help the initiative better the lives of these kids.

The Chess in Slums Initiative is a Non- profit organization aimed at using the noble game of chess to help youngsters in slum communities realize their full potential by integrating principles of the game with management of daily challenges in life, enhancing abstract thinking, creativity and innovation.

This initiative was founded by National Master Tunde Onakoya, a passionate chess player/coach who strongly believes that chess can be wielded as a powerful tool to change the world.

He says the game changed his life and he is trying to use it to help the children in the slums as he also came from there.

Recently, He did a short documentary with BBC Africa about the purpose of the Initiative and how it has improved the lives of some of the children there. Some of the children have even gotten scholarships to study. Most of their scholarships came from social media, with some users asking how they can contribute to the project.

This short documentary have gone viral over a space of a few days, with Popular online platforms like Bellanaija writing a short piece on the documentary

I almost "dulled" myself...I have 2 phones and use the whatsapp on the other phone more...I was waiting on that phone before it dawned on me that it's my other number that is on my CV...I quickly ran to charge the other one...
