Christianity EtcRe: What Have You Learned From The Religion Section ? by joywendy(f): 5:41pm On Jul 16, 2015
The op is funny sha...you created a thread
What have you learned from the religious section?

You then went on to list people you learnt from in the section. How does it correlate btw most ladies are overly religious don't expect most of them here with our atheist, agnostic, deist brothers going back and fort. It not encouraging at all grin

True and very true.....even if our population grows to that of China,we dont even have the finance to handle it like china is doing.
As for the doctors the blame is shared equally......we are not encouraging them to do their job,and some of them too are not even willing to answer the clarion call on their part.
Corruption is not the only problem facing Nigeria...we have so much attachment to out culture and old traditions that we develop some sort of stiff neck.Imagine a mother advising her daughter to give birth to plenty children as a mark of regard or respect in the family,or to show that she has the capacity to reproduce....yet she hasn't thought of how those kids will be trained.Even religion is not address it.

Some of those men and women in the village who depend on their little income, wont even listen to you when you preach family planning or any sort to them.....WE HAVE A VERY LONG WAY TO GO.
True words spoken there! Btw Nigeria is swimming in money but a few elites have decided to keep the money to themselves and to let the masses suffer. China like nigeria refused to believe that overpopulation was causing any harm to the countryy by the time they did it was late and They were 'forced' to come up with one of the world's harshest policies on population growth:one child policy.

Yes of course, not only corruption. nigeria and Africa has a whole is suffering from identity crises. It is quite unfortunate that the silly white peeps came in when africa was till at its developing stage. They came in brainwashed us and made us turn against our ownselves, made many look at themselves as inferior beings to the whites. This tore a whole in the heart of many and because of this they feel that keeping up some of the most terrible traditions or culture would give them some kinda self worth or hope that their identity has not been lost. This is passed on from generation to generation, making it difficult to realize that what was lost in childhood can't be gained back. This is where the ignorance comes to play, holding on to wierd tradition, sterotypes and norms.

I don't blame them too, like they say na situation way make crayfish bend grin I m not blaming the white completly but whether we like it or not they had a role to play in all this.
Nigeria is damaged from the inside out, it would take a special kind of therapy like a revolution and total re-orientation to make this nation great again. Like you said we got a long way to go

Well you have said it all....truth is,this is one case out of hundreds out there.
The health sector is not doing anything to help.I hear them in hospital where a woman comes to give birth, the doctor doesnt care to know how many children she has, what she does for a living and her health statues (to give advice). It is only few of them that go out of their way to counsel you......most of them are more interested in how the woman will pay her hospital bills.Even some NGO's no longer create such awareness.
No wonder there are alot of street kids, some without good parental care....the population keeps going high and there is no check .
Our problem in Nigeria plenty ooooo.
Really it is quite unfortunate, the nigerian government itself has failed to see that population is growing at an alarming rate,if care is not taking nigeria might turn to the next china.
Do you blame the doctors? When the economy itself is not good, sometimes they stay months without salaries and people still expect them to still show compassion on their patients. it is human nature that's makes them act in that way(though I believe is wrong) what can we do? Don't forget we have many nigerians who are ungrateful bunch and would like to run away after getting treatment. It is not entirely their fault, the environment they are as made think that way.

The system itself is corrupt and disorganized and because of this it has lead to so many other problems. If people can start with the lga chairman in their community and stop relying so much on the federal government then we won't have so much problems in our hands now.

Welcome back to your rightful responsibility....See the beautiful children that God blessed them with.I hope he wont plan to have another baby. angry
In as much as there is freedom to give birth in Nigeria....there should be some sort of advocacy or health campaign to make people understand what we call family planning.Give birth to the number of children you can carter for....especially in this present harsh economy. So that you cant endanger the life of your wife and children.I have come across some very poor families who have up to 7 children and i wonder how they plan to train them.

The aftermath of it result in child trafficking, child abuse and early marriage...even some end up becoming a liability to the society.
Education either formal or informal is very necessary to drive the message home.

My Question-why is it that some rich and wealthy families have fewer children? why do the poor keep on giving birth even when they find it hard to feed and take care of them?
The answer is quite simple, let's face the facts most poor people are illiterates or semi illiterate. They believe that having more children would go a long way in bringing them out of poverty. They see nothing wrong in having more kids btw it is God's blessings to them. Most of them are not informed about this family planning stuff which further worsens issues.
As for the rich do I need to explain that to you? Most of them are enlightened, they know the consequences of having plenty kids.it sometimes causes more disunity in the home especially when it comes to who should inherit what. Also most are too busy with their business to start thinking of having more kids. Just have the one you can take care of.

Hope I have answered your question?

I like the shirt too but not with the rest of the outfit and Joy, I don't think you must use a plain shirt and tie with this. But that shirt is too busy tho
Hey Ada dear, I said it is usually worn with a plain shirt and tie not that is a must.Usually a plain top turtle neck with that coat or plain shirt with tie (depending on the occasion).it is possible to have someone break this nomal norm but it's not very likely. Like I said maybe am a bit old fashioned. grin

Anyways we both agree that the shirt looks off on the outfit cheesy

The psychiatrists at the hospitals that specialize in Psychiatric medicine are good. Psychiatrists are not psychotherapists. They are real doctors.
a psychiatrist can also be a psychotherapist depending on if the psychiatrist wants to specialize in psychotherapy.
Pardon my lil ignorance but do we really have those psychotherapists in Nigeria? At what cost?

Just found out this thread has been pulled from the front page. I guess some people didn't consider it worth sharing. I'm glad for the few that picked a thing on two from it.
hey don't be too hard on them mods, they have tried their best and moved it to the front page. It is not their fault that most people don't wanna read or comment on the thread. You have touched some people's hearts today, people have shared it, I shared it to my friends on facebook and I have some of my friends sharing the message. It keeps going one way or the other people will be touched by this, people will come out with their stories. Whether the thread moves or not, you have made a great impact! smiley

Some babez will come up here claiming 'am natural I don't use make up' forgetting powder, lip gloss and lip balm are part of it.Who are you decieving? undecided

Anyways my point is that the op exaggerrate his story a bit and btw don't some guys also use photoshop? If a lady decides to look normal, you guys will still complain. So what do you want? The fact that you don't like it doesn't mean another person won't. A man's trash can be another man's treasure .

I m not against what the op is saying but he is making it seem like almost all the girls who put make up and use photoshop act in that manner.

That's why people are told not to expect too much from people they meet online. If you really want a relationship with someone, facial beauty is not really a criteria to base on. Beauty fades with time

This is one of the things keeping people suffering from depression to come out.It is not easy especially here in Nigeria, with many people still in the ice age.

Some jobless youths will spend all their days online attacking others as a result of ethnic, religious and tribal sentiments.
I'll surely surpass bill gate's achievement. Expect me. #Hearmystory
But let's not forget that bill was born with a silver spoon meAning he had more oppurtunies at his disposal,he used the oppurtunities he had to the mAxmium

The case of the average nigerian youth and their unemployment is has a result of many things poverty, poor educational background, unmanaged population growth, lack of electricity, etc.

So it is quite unfair to compare this people with Mr Microsoft who didn't go through the above mentioned.

Though I agree that some of our jobless youth display some madness online instead of finding out ways to improve themselves and impact the society. I really don't blame them, it is what the society has turned them to.

Note: am not saying they can't rise above all that and become great,my point is we shouldn't compare Bill to the youths we have here. Its two different things entirely.

Well I will see what we can do about that chess notation, maybe make it another lesson on its or something.
I just have a few more chess terminologies to talk about. Chess tactics is part of it as well, so anytime you are ready. You can start on that lesson btw I really appreciate your efforts in this.smiley
