okparaugo: Put the book in a movie, I will read it.

Otherwise, pure water...
most movies from books ain't as good as the book. For some many parts are removed and so many things are added. If u see a movie and it has a book I suggest you read the book first before going on to watch the movie. So has to understand what the writer was trying to pass across and not get miss informed.

reader is worth it all
yeah thanks. A reader isn't someone that just reads one particular set of books but he/she is diverse in all areas.

chizzy94: Don't ever let somebody tell you you can't don something, not your poppa, momma, brothers, sisters, friends and even yourself.

You got a dream and you have to protect it, people can't do something themselves and they want to tell you 'you can't do it', if you want something, go and get it. Period!
nice post! But it's easier said than done.

@op love your post. smiley
Parents should learn from this and future ones too. Another one is that parents may not understand the dream and goal of that child, and might think their child is being unrealitic.

jayriginal: Second game
White *****
Black Jay

[Event "?"]
[Site "?"]
[Date "huh?.??.??"]
[Round "?"]
[White "?"]
[Black "?"]
[Result "*"]
[ECO "B01"]
[Opening "Scandinavian (centre counter) defence"]

1. e4 d5 2. e5 {I wasnt prepared for this at all. I expected him to capture.}
2... Bf5 3. d4 e6 4. Nf3 c5 5. c3 Qa5 6. Bd2 Qb6 7. b3 Ne7 8. Be3 Bg4 $4 {this
is simply horrible. It loses a pawn. I had seen the danger but I was so carried
away with my plans that I forgot about it. Immediately I played this I saw the
nonsense I had played.I I was concerned about moving the Bishop from f5 to make
room for the knight. My worry was whether to put the bishop on e4 or on g4. In
the ensuing self debate, I forgot about the pawn. Luckily my opponent did not
take advantage.}
9. Be2 Nf5 10. Qd2 Bxf3 11. Bxf3 Nc6 12. O-O cxd4 13. cxd4
Nfxd4 14. Nc3 Nxf3+ {At once!} [/i]15. gxf3 Qd8 [i]{the queen has done well on the
queen side. Time to redeploy her to another zone}
16. Bf4 Qh4 17. Bg3 Qh5 18. f4
{Since white has all but killed his dark squared bishop, I decide to remove his
other active minor piece leaving him effectively a piece down.}
18... Bb4 19.
Qd3 Bxc3 20. Qxc3 O-O 21. a3 Rac8 {by this time, I had dreams of relocating my
knight to penetrate the gaping hole at f5. It had to be timed properly as the
only thing keeping the white queen at bay is the knight on c6}
22. Rac1 Qh3 23.
Rfe1 h5 24. f3 h4 25. Bf2 Qf5 26. Qd2 {I personally think white should have
taken the pawn instead of trying to defend.}
26... h3 27. Bg3 Ne7 28. Qb4 Qd3
29. Rxc8 Rxc8 30. Qxe7 Qxf3 31. Re2 Qxe2 32. Qe8+ Rxe8 33. Bf2 Rc8 0-1*
a much better opponent compared to the other game, started well. Strong defense and it was his weak point. He was just defending not attacking, I guess he's a strong believer of the saying 'a strong defense is the best form of attack'. Not in every case like this one for example, he had a free piece! If he taken that piece he won't have had the problem he faced towards the ending. He is very poor at attacking, poor foresight. He tried sha, he gave you a bit of a tough time I can see from the begining.He would have had you, just that one blunder ruined things and gave u an upper edge.But mehn that stunt you tried in that 14th move, Best part of the game for me smiley he had no choice than to break the pawn alignment in front of the king leaving his king exposed! Wicked grin and risky but wow!! That's some sacrifice, nice one wink Just one more move and it would have been checkmate. Though I was lost at some point because of the lettering of the two bishops and knights but Anyways I love the game, so much better than the last. I'm learning some new things and tricks here.hehe grin

Can't wait for the next game smiley

GamingRe: Nairaland Official Chess Thread! by joywendy(f):
jayriginal: joywendy, here is the first game as promised. Im White.

White -- Jay
Black (*******)

[Event "?"]
[Site "?"]
[Date "huh?.??.??"]
[Round "?"]
[White "?"]
[Black "?"]
[Result "*"]

1. d4 g6 2. c4 Bg7 3. Nc3 d6 4. e4 Bd7 {I was nervous because I had not been in
a competition in over 10 years and I had barely played over the board (OTB) in
about the same time. I considered this move to be an inaccuracy. It would have
been better for him to wait until I played my knight to f3 and then pin it with
Bg4
}
5. Nf3 Nf6 6. Bd3 O-O 7. O-O Re8 8. Re1 e5 {I was glad to see this move} 9.
d5 c6 {finally he seems to have seen the problem associated with putting the
bishop on d7. Now there is no good space for his Nb8. I decide to compound the
problem with one more move}
10. h3 {Now both the Nb8 and the Bd7 are unhappy
with their situation.}
10... cxd5 11. cxd5 h6 12. Be3 Qc8 {I thought for a while
here. I imagined he was lining up for a sac on h3. It may not be particularly
dangerous but I really didnt like the idea and I wasnt too sure of my
calculations}
13. Kh2 Nh7 {with this, I imagined he was going to play ..f5} 14.
Qc2 Qd8 {losing a move in my opinion} 15. Qd2 Ng5 {This was uncalled for. Now he
loses a pawn.}
16. Nxg5 hxg5 17. Bxg5 f6 18. Bh6 Na6 19. Bxa6 {I didnt even need
to think about this. Im a pawn up and im giving him two doubled isolated pawns.
I could see the win already. This is the result of his 4th move, ..Bd7}
19...
bxa6 20. Bxg7 Kxg7 21. Re3 {both for attack and defence. I envisaged a situation
when his queen might attack my b pawn and I might be forced to push b3 thereby
putting my pawn en pris. The rook defends along the 3rd rank and can be useful
in attack as well.}
21... Rh8 22. Rc1 f5 {I was a little uncomfortable with
this. I certainly didnt want him to push to f4.}
23. exf5 Bxf5 24. Ne2 Qh4 25.
Rg3 Raf8 26. Rc7+ Rf7 27. Qc3 Rf8 28. Qc6 {pawn hunting} 28... Be4 29. Rxf7+
Rxf7 30. Qxd6 Qf6 31. Qxf6+ Rxf6 32. Nc3 Bf5 33. Re3 e4 34. Kg3 {No need to
hurry and give him counterplay in the process. His position is already bad.}

34... Rb6 35. b3 Rb4 36. Kf4 Rd4 37. Ke5 Rd2 38. Re2 Rd3 39. Nxe4 Kf7 40. g4
{this might not have been the best move but I was considering simplifying so I
could push my passed pawn. I actually overlooked the capture of my knight on e4}

40... Bxe4 41. Rxe4 Rxh3 42. Kd6 Rh8 43. Kc7 Rh1 44. d6 Rc1+ 45. Rc4 Rd1 46. Kd7
Rd2 47. Rf4+ Kg7 48. g5 Rd5 49. Ke6 Rb5 50. d7 Rb8 51. Ke7 Rb7 52. Ke8 1-0*
wow! Lovely game. So the guy resign? Lol!! Seriously it was quite obvious you were playing a fish grin terrible one! Chai even the way he started sef. Using that fianchetto opening feeling tough,I liked the way you dealt with him in that 10th move.even my younger bro won't play this kind of thing. I guess he was even more nervous than you. Nice, I loved the way you arranged your pieces. the man played like he wasn't calculating, some moves were unnecessary and pointless like the queen for queen exchange he did. When he was pieces down and the pawns didn't look like they had any hope of a getting to the other end before a mate would come and some other silly ones. He was too nervous my conclusion. Keep it up, I learnt some things from it. Thanks.
But jay you are mean small grin why didn't u just do the rook and king mate? Than waiting to promote your pawn (though it was till good)
I almost forgot, how many minutes for this game? Blitz or classical?
Would check the second game

But when it comes to accesories and make up, Then christina it is from the earrings to the bangles and the rest.

RomanceRe: Why Readers, Scientifically, Are The Best People To Fall In Love With by joywendy(f): 8:14pm On Jul 12, 2014
texanomaly: You are right. Fiction alone will not accomplish this. The thing is...Reading only nonfiction will not do it either. In anything...a healthy balance is necessary. Especially if one only reads religious books. I'm not saying don't read them. I'm saying don't "only" read them. Only reading religious books can lead to closed-mindedness. There are plenty of good books and stories out there that are inspirational, and do not threaten or encroach on ones beliefs. We should seek knowledge and wisdom, while maintaining our principles. It is possible.
So read a variety of books is the lesson here, not just one. It can make one to be biased. Thanks a lot.

Mmm...nice article. This is a lesson to those people always asking for summary.

Though I believe it works for those who apply what the read, cause there are some people that read and still don't have those characteritics you mentioned.
Well, op I have a question.
What kind of books? Motivational books?
Religous books? Biographies? Cause I don't think reading just fiction will generate all this

VERDICT

Okay,

Make up- beautiful cheesy
Earrings- wonderful
Shoes- lovely. Me likey smiley

Has for the outfit. Like I said earlier, I give her kudos for what she wore. Not everyone can dress like this to an awards like me for instance grin
Anyways based on some of the comments above, she dressed well though she would have done better without the cap and jacket and it was too tomboyish for an event like BET. Well, she wanted to be unique, and she did it very well. Apart from that nothing else wrong with it.
So I have decided to let her go, but on a serious warning grin
please don't try the tomboyish look next time, it may seem nice now but the next time you try it to the BET. It won't be so nice.

Thanks for your comments cheesy
