I deposited over N70000 into my Betland account. Fortunately the stake won. The money increased to N126000. If I issue withdrawal, I'll be told 10k is their maximum withdrawal. I issued the first 10k withdrawal, it took like 2months before I got paid after series of calls, chat and emails. I issued the second one, it reversed. I issued the 3rd and 4th, I took like another 3months before I saw my money. The last 10k I withdrew, I'm yet to see it till this moment.
To cut long story short, now I have N96k left in the account (N86k +10k pending). They've refused to pay me. Customer care is very poor, no response. I've reported to Lagos state lottery board, they said it'll be difficult since I'm not in lagos.
Please what do I do to get my money back? I strongly need your advice

You're right.

Good men plenty.

Good men are the men that won't attempt to chop free toto.

That's my point.

It's not a must a man asks to copulate with a woman before he can help.

But if he chooses to have sex with her, he MUST pay for it.

Good men won't chop free food.... This, to me, is a criminal act and such a man must be cursed.

PropertiesRe: The Issues Of Building-Collapse In Nigeria: Recommended Solutions by jpride(m): 1:59pm On Nov 11, 2021
PediakAuthor:
In the early hours of yesterday, 1/11/21, just before the breaking news of the collapsed building in Ikoyi. I was passing by a construction site (a storey building) in my area - it seems like an event hall to me.

I decided to branch the site - just to say hi to the bricklayers and the casual workers, and perhaps to learn new things.

I approached them by saying; "how far na? How the work dey go? Me self, I be Engineer o, I just say make I come see wetin una dey do 4 here." I said.

Immediately, conducting a visual inspection on the site, I noticed the low quality of the blocks on ground, most of them were broken, I got more curious and inquisitive. It was so obvious that the quantities of sand were more than the cement, and by the matter of fact, some of the blocks were already broken perhaps during the process of offloading the substandard blocks.

I took a step further to conduct a simple strength test (static pendulum swing on a broken piece of block) and impact test (punch) on an unbroken block. The Broken piece of block failed the first strength test woefully - rated about 20% strength.
For the second test, that is, impact test, I used my hand to punch the block (the Anthony Joshua style) grin, sincerely, I did not apply much force, the block scattered with just a little blow. OMG. I was bothered about the situation.

Some of the site workers were looking at me during the process.

I was actually concerned about the structure standing the test of time... so to say, I started challenging the bricklayers that why would they use such blocks for building? I said that's the major reasons for building collapse in Nigeria, and that innocent people and random visitors could be the victim of such negligence in the future. I specifically said; "where 2 bags of cements were to be used, people would use 1 bag just to cut cost."
And most times, that's why you see cracks on buildings after it has absorbed little raindrops. It's a RED SIGN for its structural sustainability.
One of them replied, "na so the supplier bring them come give us o", another worker said; "e fit be say na rain cause am..." lipsrsealed

I said in my mind; "shey awon eleyi normal sha ? huh"

I left the site so bothered. Afterwards, I approached an elderly man that resides around the site and narrated the whole story to him and his company; how the blocks were looking so substandard and how I conducted 2 strength tests on the block - and they failed woefully.

The elder man pointed at another sets of blocks to me; he said; "those substandard blocks were made with machines, but these strong blocks were made with hands." Lo and behold, by the time I conducted a strength test on these second sets of blocks, they were much more stronger than the former, with a rating of about 80-95% strength. I gave it a punch, but with no effect.

I left the area, quite sober; I started thinking about the self-wickedness of humanity, and something came to my mind, that; God is not wicked, God does not do bad deeds, wickedness and evils are the handiworks of the heathens, and that, someday, such structures being built with substandard materials might collapse and people would start blaming God. huh

Few hours later, I saw a related news on Nairaland, about the collapsed building in Ikoyi, Lagos State, I become so emotional. I said to myself; Just one man's corrupt act and negligence might have led to this, or maybe someone actually tendered QUANTITY in the place of QUALITY just to maximize profits. huh All these risks are avoidable if we tend to do the right thing - so that no man would blame God for such unnatural occurrence. It's like a Chess game, a single wrong move might lead to a woeful defeat.

No be say I dey do amebo, it's just the strife against societal irregularities is a collective role, and the masses have a crucial role to play in the cause, likewise the designated governmental bodies.
And by the matter of fact, I've always been writing about related issues as such, in fact, I featured this theme in my 2018 book, titled; "The New Ekiti Dream". As attached,
that's page 17 of my long-term policy book.

On a conclusive note, one of the reasons why we always need to take proactive preventive move is that it could be anybody.

Here's my recommendation;
For the innocent masses not to be caught-up in subsequent flames as such, I think we need to establish a very serious regulatory outfit, perhaps, The Department of Quality Control in each Nigerian State and the concerned subjects MUST be ready to comply and adhere to all the laid-down rules of engagement for the construction ventures.

Secondly, the Government should delegate a special duty to some MOBILE QUALITY CONTROL AGENTS to ensure the regulatory compliance of ALL the construction works in Nigeria. At least, some qualified unemployment youths could be engaged for such processes.

My duty is to WRITE to make it RIGHT!

God bless y'all readers.

I would have criticized u if u had said u are a civil/structural engineer.

TravelRe: 20 Things You Must Know As A Nigerian Before Heading To The UAE. by jpride(m): 8:09am On Nov 10, 2021
Ruben225571:
1. UAE visa is cheap but the country is expensive and with so much Competition .

2. There is so much bad Image for Nigerian in UAE so you must be willing to do more of good conduct to enable you stand out.

3. UAE is not a country you come to with $100 BTA, the moment you drop from the airplane to the moment you receive your first salary is a whole lot of spending, so be prepared

4. 99% of the Jobs your agent promised you from Nigeria is not true, he may also be on overstay and doesn't care if you join him/her.

5. Free accomodation is scarce in UAE, dont get angry when your friend or relative refuses to accommodate you, if you Intend to share with them, always agree properly, don't assume.

6. Your prospective employer has a different culture from you, always calm down to observe.

7. UAE has labour laws, get someone who knows to explain to you, don't act on information you gather online.

8. If you are a skilled worker, eg mechanic, mason, electrician, tiler etc, it's easier for you to get a job than he who comes with a master's degree in philosophy or business admin etc.

9. Always be sure you want a job before you take it , don't sign a job contract and abandon it mid-way, it may be the beginning of your predicament.

10. For those who get promises of visa and ticket to pay back when you get to UAE, there is a 99% chance that you are been exported for prostitution, in UAE prostitution is a CRIME and doesn't give you as much money as it does in Europe , so think twice when you get such offers.

11. If your main business is yahoo, no need to come except you have already made it big in Nigeria and you need a good environment where you can invest your money and have a good life.

12. Don't pay anyone hundreds of thousands of Naira to get a UAE visa with a promise of big job, if you have millions and must come to Dubai, get a one month visa and do a residence permit on arrival if you don't get a desired job.

13. Those who have a personal residence permit tend to get higher paying jobs than those who come with tourist visas and are on company residence permit.

14. You cannot rob a bank, do cultism etc and go free in UAE, there are cameras everywhere and the boarders are tight.

15. Once your visa expires, you loose all your legality and begin to pay overstay fines, avoid it if you can.

16. Shouting, fighting, protesting, illegal gathering, unauthorised photography, cultism are all prohibited in UAE, it will get you into trouble.

17. Not all businesses in UAE are doing well, some Pakistanis, Indians, Filipinos, Arabs etc you call Arbab/ sponsors are also struggling, they set up a company and employ you, they can mess up your stay if they can't proceed with your residence permit.

18. When a company employs you, size them up, evaluate their operations and check well if they are capable of paying salaries and issuing a residence permit, let me explain further; a new coffee shop in Umm Al Quain that employs 6 of you at same time and does not have enough customers may disappoint you, use your brain to avoid crying at last.

19. Starting a business for Nigerians is not as difficult as you hear, that's if you have the money, seek information.

20. UAE is not easy, guys work hard here, really hard.
Please can we talk?

CrimeI Want To Sue Sokoloan by jpride(op): 6:55pm On Nov 09, 2021
Please I need your objective criticism or advice on this: My bank blocked my account because it received more than it's limit, hence I was asked to upgrade. That long process prompted me to seek loan of just 10k from Sokoloan to pay back 19k. On the last day of the loan I pleaded to pay 10k and pay the rest in 3 days time because my account was still blocked. I paid the 10k. The next day they started sending sms to me threatening to alert my contacts. I pleaded to wait for the next 2 days which is my salary pay day, she was so rude and blatantly refused. I made effort and raised the 9k to pay them. After that, they started telling me of late payment fee of 1100 naira. I told her I'm koboless, I'll pay when I get my salary in 2 days time as I'm unable to withdraw from my Fidelity account. The next day, my photo along with degrading sms went viral. Virtually all my contacts got the sms. Because of the sms, I decided not to pay the 1100 naira again. I see this as total unprofessionalism.
Now I want to take legal action as backed by my family and friends. I need your advice before I proceed. Do I stand in favour of the court?

Very good. Nigerians don't like paying their debts. I wonder the tree they think the lender plucked the money from.

Na for this nairaland a chronic debtor was looking for a way to tarnish sokoloan image simply because sokoloan sent embarrassing messages to his contacts when he defaulted despite agreeing to such when he accepted their terms.
Government should employ this method so that loan apps and other lenders can easily collect back their loans.

Judge this case: My colleague in the office borrowed 18k from them to pay back 27k in 14days. Unfortunately for him, the loan expired a week before salary payment. He managed to raise 17k and pay, pleading to pay the rest in 1 week when salary comes. The next day, his loan sms went viral. Sokoloan tarnished his image, sending sms and whatsapp chat along with his photo to all his contacts. Since they succeeded in tarnishing his image, the guy swore he'll never ever pay again. Now they are begging him to pay, he said NEVER.
