Most important question all Nigerians fail to ask is; Where is Boko Haram hiding hundreds of Chibok girls after army cleared Sambisa, air force surveyed every kilometer of North East? How can the whole federal intelligence and military machinery not know where so many girls are being hidden and now being released bit by bit? Those Boko Harams who brought these 82 girls out on agreed time, agreed date, to agreed location, where did they emerge from and disappear to like ghosts riders? Are the NAF, NIA, and DSS so blind?

That's the question I have been asking....but it seems they have their location, but any attack on such location will lead to huge casualties on the side of the abducted.

Activities begin to mark Airforce’s 53rd anniversary

The Nigerian Air force has started activities to mark its 53rd Anniversary with a Juma’at Service at the Air force base along Airport Road in Abuja.

The service was attended by high ranking Air force officers led by the chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar.

The Air force Chief told journalists that the climax of activities to mark the Air force week would be the unveiling of the recently acquired Gunboat Aircraft.

He believes the gunboat aircraft would make a difference in the war against the insurgency.

NAF INTENSIFIES AERIAL SURVEILLANCE OVER ABUJA-KADUNA HIGHWAY

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its air surveillance activities over the Abuja-Kaduna highway and the railway track to monitor traffic and prevent illegal activities along the routes. The deployment of the additional platforms was informed by the diversion of air traffic from Abuja to Kaduna and the need to provide adequate air cover to safeguard lives, property and critical infrastructure.
The Chief of Training and Operation (CTOP), Air Vice Marshal Abdullahi Iya who undertook an operational visit to the Kaduna airport to reassess the security and logistics arrangements disclosed that the NAF commenced aerial patrol of the highway and railway since August last year. He added that the visit was equally to enable the NAF to hold discussion with the civil aviation authority on proper coordination of airfield activities as the NAF uses the same air space to train its pilots undergoing primary flying training.

Av seen the AW 109 fly back and forth every day from NAF base Kaduna, I earlier thought they were using it to transport top military officials from Kaduna to abuja.

NAF AIRLIFTS NIGERIANS STRANDED IN MALI

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has airlifted some stranded Nigerians in Mali back home. The Nigerian Embassy in Bamako leveraged on the NAF Charlie-130 Hercules aircraft to airlift these Nigerians that were victims of human trafficking. The deportees range between 16 - 28 years of age were received on arrival in Nigeria by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, Mrs Abike Dabiri Erewa and officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The successful repatriation of these Nigerians was as a result of collaboration between the Nigerian Embassy and the Malian authorities anchored on mutual agreement. The Nigeria Consular Officer in Mali, Mr Abubakar Audu accompanied the deportees to Nigeria.

Customs seizes two helicopters at Lagos airport

An attempt to smuggle two civil model Bell Helicopters into the country by a yet to be identified person has led to their forfeiture to the Nigerian Customs Service, the Customs said on Friday.

The helicopters were subsequently handed over to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to aid its fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast.

The contraband was seized at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on November 7, 2016.

The unknown importer reportedly failed to produce end user certificate from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) in contravention of Section 36 (2) of the Customs and Excise Management Act.

The Customs Area Controller, Mr. Frank Allanah, put the import duty value of the two helicopters and their accessories at N9, 757,135,240.86k .

Allanah told reporters that the helicopters were flown in as a consignment with Airway Bill Number 17232444403 through the airport.

Officials who examined the consignment found two civil models 412 EP of serial numbers 36608 and 36606 Bell Helicopters respectively, in standard configuration.

In all there were 23 packages weighing 11,475 kg in the consignment.

The choppers were immediately impounded and detained at the Skyways Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) shed pending fulfillment of all legal requirements for the importation.
