Off Topic.

This is the Boneyard in Tucson, AZ. It's a real place filled with over 6 trillion dollars worth of planes, over 90% of which have never left the ground in military service. The most expensive plane in this photo cost taxpayers sixteen million dollars, and was never used by our military.

The new F-35 fighter will cost taxpayers more than 95 million dollars each, with a standing order for over 2,000 of these planes, an estimated 1.1 trillion dollars initial order.

What's so special? How about the fact that if you Google "attack helicopters" it appears on the list, an elite of 9 helicopters made by 200 countries
How about the fact that no one buys it.

Haven't you heard of a lady who thinks she is the most sexiest girl in the world, have a million plus followers on FB, Instagram and twitter, she gets all the likes and retweets. But she never realise the fact that no man ask her out or sleeps with her.
That is the problem with Rooivalk always among the world 10 best attack helicopters but no one still buys them.

AIRCRAFT REACTIVATION: NAF BENEFITS FROM PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL FIRM

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has revealed some of the benefits being enjoyed by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in its approach to aircraft reactivation. As much as practicable, the NAF now carries out major maintenance on its aircraft locally, either in conjunction with local companies or by inviting foreign experts to come and carry out the reactivation in Nigeria. Aside from the huge cost savings in foreign currency, he stated that more of NAF technicians are gaining technical expertise while the reactivation turnaround times are now much reduced. The CAS made the revelations on the final day of his 2-day operational visit to the NAF’s 115 Special Operations Group (SOG) in Port Harcourt, where he inspected 2 NAF helicopters that were undergoing reactivation. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, which when completed, would further boost the operational effectiveness of the NAF. The helicopters undergoing reactivation include one Dauphin Helicopter, being reactivated at the facility of AeroContractors in Port Harcourt, and one Mi-35P Helicopter, being reactivated by some foreign experts in conjuction with NAF technicians in Port Harcourt. The CAS and his team also witnessed a ground instruction class, in which an experienced civilian pilot from AeroContractors was teaching young NAF pilots. While reiterating his call for similar organizations and companies to lend their support to the NAF, in its current campaigns, Air Marshal Abubakar commended AeroContractors for making its services available to the NAF at no cost.

The CAS later visited the operational wing of 115 SOG, where he was briefed on the Unit’s contributions to the operations in the North East and in the South South of the country. Thereafter, Air Marshal Abubakar inspected other ongoing projects in the Unit. The projects inspected included the nearly completed Base Defence Coordination Centre, from where all the measures towards protecting the Unit's air assets would be coordinated. He also visited the Unit’s Medical Centre, which was being modified to accommodate X-ray and dialysis equipment. The medical centre was also being expanded to create an additional ward.

It would be recalled that the CAS commenced the operational visit to 115 SOG Port Harcourt on 7 July 2017, when he called for support from relevant civilian organizations and companies in the NAF’s fight against insecurity in Nigeria. He had also earlier commissioned a new residential accommodation for airmen and airwomen. The new accommodation was named after a fallen heroine, Aircraftwoman Abdulmalik.

PRESS RELEASE: NIGERIAN AIR FORCE HELICOPTER SUFFERS TECHNICAL MISHAP
A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Agusta 109 Light Utility Helicopter has suffered a mishap while undertaking a liaison mission targeted at further enhancing the synergy between the Nigerian Army and the NAF in the ongoing counterinsurgency operation in the North East. The incidence, which occurred today, 6 July 2017, was as a result of an airborne technical fault with the helicopter. The experienced NAF pilots, however, successfully ditched the helicopter into a pool of water to minimize damage and loss of lives. Consequently, there were neither any injuries nor loss of lives to anyone on board or on the ground. The Chief of the Air Staff has immediately directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incidence while efforts are ongoing to recover the helicopter and members of the board are already in Maiduguri to commence work. The NAF continues to solicit the understanding and support of the general populace as it daily strives to ensure the security of Nigeria and Nigerians.

Foreign AffairsIndian Minister Caught Urinating In Public by jteku(op): 6:03pm On Jun 29, 2017
Indian Agriculture Minister Radha Singh was on Thursday caught on camera urinating in public, prompting angry reactions from citizens on social media with some calling for his ouster.

In the photo that has gone viral, Singh was seen peeing on a wall of a compound, while his security guards stood close-by.

Several people took to the social media to criticize the minister’s action which is in sharp contrast to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clean India campaign.

Some have even asked Modi to sack the minister.

“Show him the door” one Twitter user wrote to the prime minister’s official handle, tagging the official accounts of the minister and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah.

However, the erring minister has defended himself, claiming that he was forced to urinate in the open as there was no public toilet nearby on the National Highway 28, where the photo was taken.

This is not the first time that a BJP leader has been caught littering or working against Prime Minister Modi’s flagship Clean India campaign.

Earlier this month, the country’s green court, National Green Tribunal, was moved after a BJP lawmaker, Priyanka Rawat, threw a plastic bottle in the river Saryu, a tributary of the Ganga.

The vlean Indian campaign (Swachh Bharat Mission) was officially launched on Oct. 2, 2014, aimed at universal sanitation and open defecation eradication by 2019.
