Hello Nairalanders, my name is Emeka iKORO on twitter as @EmekaIkoro_. I am the one who raised alarm on Onyeka Nwelue's COE scam on twitter.

He entered my Dm and the chat started on March 26, 2026. He wanted me to buy him a plane ticket. I couldn't buy the ticket, so I gifted him N140,000 as support.

Then, he posted a what seemed like a Japan Residency on his twitter handle. I congratulated him. Having told me about Japan COE for my family at the cost of N13,000,000 naira, I asked him if it was still valid. He responded in affirmative, but my wife cautioned me against giving a stranger so much money. I obeyed my wife and opted to attempt for my own COE first.

On 27th April 2026, Onyeka pressured me to send N2,000,000 as deposit for COE. He gave me his sister's Bank account and I paid. After the payment, he demanded for my passport data page and 6 months statement of account. I sent them.

On July 13, Onyeka Nwelue sent me a fake COE for submission to VFS Global in Abuja. I flew from the East to Abuja, paid for hotel accommodations, taxis documentations and more. Onyeka was aware it was all scam but was so heartless to stop causing me and other victims emotional and economic damages.

In all, the total money Onyeka Nwelue scammed from me is N3,100,000. He used his God forsaken sister's bank account Nkechinyere Voilet Nwelue in the scam. On September 16, 2026 I contacted her sister on facebook to help me talk to his brother to release my money to me since Onyeka blocked me everywhere, it downed on me that Nkechinyere Voilet Nwelue was more ruthless like his brother Onyeka.

If I have chance next time, I would send more chats, documents and receipts they used in their organised visa scam.

It's a sad situation really. What do you want them to do? You bring people close and they want to stab you in the back and steal from you. For each of these people that have died alone, many more has been killed by people their children brought in to take care of them.
