Peter Obi Is Not A Liar! Barrack Obama’s Wife Sparks Reactions To Obi’s Controversial Interview

The 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has been vindicated by the wife of former President Barrack Obama of America, who revealed that American Presidents pay for their foods.

Prior to now, Peter Obi had been under fire from Nigerians for saying in an interview that the President of America pays for his food; picks up his bills and that of his guests in direct contrast to what is practiced in Nigeria.

A video showing Barrack Obama’s wife, Michelle, speaking about this in an interview with Oprah Winfrey has now, believeably, changed the minds of those who called Mr Obi ‘a liar’.

Michelle Obama said her husband paid for all the meals they enjoyed in the White House and on vacation contrary to the wide belief that they lived off public funds.

Politics › Re: What The Conflict Between Israel And Palestinians Has Taught Me About Nigerians by jude79(m): 2:23pm On Nov 23, 2023
LocalStandard1:
I always try to start posts by telling a little about my own experiences. But for months now I don't frequent Nairaland and I will say, there is no bigger medicine to the mind and soul of a person than staying off Nairaland. And staying away from news about Nigeria in general does wonders to a person's personal life, general progress and mental state.

My main issues here and why I decide to put this here is to make us reason and question our own humanity and beliefs.

So since the Israeli vs Palestinian conflicts started many Nigerians, specifically Christians have been siding with the Israelis, even some Pastors like Enoch Adeboye (unsurprising considering his poor judgment) has already jumped on the band wagon of supporting the Israel state immediately. But let us change perspective a little and consider another opinions.

I am from Kaduna State, you might be an Igbo, or a Nigerian Christian who's been ravaged and dealt with by either the Fulani terrorists or the Nigerian army. Let's look at the actions of the Nigerian army in the South East where they usually respond immediately after the killing of a soldier or two and kill people and burn down villages. My dear Christians or Igbo fellows, what do you say about that? Is that justified? Oh well!!

Growing up as a Christian in Southern Kaduna every time there are conflicts in the Middle East and specifically with the Israel State we always see and hear outcries from the Muslims. They'd write things like "free Palestine", "down with Israel". Kaduna State Christians would be on the opposite side praying and cheering for the Israelis.

But as a practical Christian I always wonder even as a child, the Bible says the death and resurrection of Jesus has made us all his own and God's children when we believe and are Baptised. Then how are these people in Israel the only and true people of God? What about us who worship him in spirit and in truth and who claim to know him?

At the start of the conflict some months ago I was on the side of the Israelis till I look into the plight of the Palestinians and I heard the narratives of the South Africans, who where in the same position as the Palestinians some few decades ago. Victimized and put in reservation camps and heavily policed, beaten and killed like nothing, their freedom fighters like the Hamas, considered terrorists. The White Apatheid regime was heavily supported by the same people supporting the Israelis today, the West, Europe and the USA and even the Israelis supported the Apatheid regime. Ironically the same people on the Palestinian side like the Russians, the Iranians, the Chinese etc, supported the Black South Africans.

, and counting. TEN THOUSAND IN ONLY LESS THAN TWO MONTHS! The Arabs have a big fault, in fact they're not innocent. But the majority being dealt with are the average Palestinians.

These same Jewish people benefited the most in the enslavement of Black people, and these same people are sterilizing Black women, specifically the Ethiopian Jews so that they won't give birth to Black children and affect their demographic. These people are not the people of the God me I serve. These Jewish people today are not the people of God in the Bible. These brazen and bold unashamed blatant retaliatory acts is not one for those who fear God.

angryThere are different and more peaceful ways of solving these issues, but the People claiming Jewish today do not want peace till they wipe out and remove all other non Jewish from their homes. These same brutish, and inhumane people are preying on the emotions and beliefs of Christians world wide to continue in the acts of shedding blood irrespective of age, gender or civilians involved. They've blocked the hearts and minds of people into supporting their wickedness.

As a Christian, I know the words of God through Jesus Christ, and this is not it. I refuse to believe we serve the same God that'll clap for acts done by people like these!!!
There's no bigger medicine than being out of nairaland, yeah, but, ever heard of frog on heated beaker mentality, having a laisez fair attitude that everything is ok, until they can't be managed, a dirty house can't clean itself up, humans have to clean it or it'll become so dirty that it'll becomes unliveable, example, Nigeria

The siege of Jerusalem (636–637) was part of the Muslim conquest of the Levant and the result of the military efforts of the Rashidun Caliphate against the Byzantine Empire in the year 636–637/38. It began when the Rashidun army, under the command of Abu Ubayda, besieged Jerusalem beginning in November 636. After six months, the Patriarch Sophronius agreed to surrender, on condition that he submit only to the Caliph. In 637 or 638, Caliph Umar (r. 634–644) traveled to Jerusalem in person to receive the submission of the city. The Patriarch thus surrendered to him, did the Israelis began it? Noo rashidun army under the command of Abu ubayda started it
The Prussian king, controlling Poland, Germany, Austria and cech republic was relaxing and running his kingdom one day until he was told that Muslim army were at his gate asking that he and his kingdom should convert from Christianity to Islam or they will be wiped out, if that king practiced the kind of Christianity you are advocating, there won't be any people representing Germany, Austria, France, Poland and cech republic today.
the impact your hand experiences when you punch a wall is equal and opposite to the force you exerted in punching the wall, Israel is only giving out what they received.
Continue to count the casualties, soon this will start happening in Nigeria, any group that deliberately goes out of their way to attack another without any provocation as is happening in Nigeria today will experience what Palestinians of today are experiencing, God cannot be mocked, you see this Palestinians, theirs nothing that Israel will do today that will equal a tenth of what they had already done to Israel, before technological advancement and the decision to turn all Israeli citizens to military gave Israel the strength advantage over them, they were the highest bullies ever encountered on earth, now that they can't match the ones they use to bully in strength, they still can't accept their position and rest.
angryThere are different and more peaceful ways of solving these issues,
Nobody discusses humanity with savages and slaves of religion, you can only discuss humanity with humans, not jihadist and jihadist under training, all who dared it , the result was their dead bodies or dead bodies of their people
Yeah, like dialoguing with a man shooting at you or trying to convince a mad man charging at you with a knife, like a charging bull, to sit down and talk, do you mean talking in your grave

The issue of Ethiopian women and authenticity
of the citizens of Israel is a different discussion from the attack people on Israeli soil received from Hamas and therefore should be discussed as another topic

b]As a Christian, I know the words of God through Jesus Christ, and this is not it. I refuse to believe we serve the same God that'll clap for acts done by people like these!!!

Christ handled those who encroached and we're trading in his father's temple same way, and all Christians clapped for him, so what kinda Christianity are you practicing, when centurions and their fifties came to forcefully abduct Elisha, he handled them same way.

I'm sorry for KANO and IMO people, both were unfortunate to be trapped by APC, especially IMO people who had never voted APC in their lives but were trapped by manipulation of a Machiavellian politician in the form of rochas okorocha, after voting him in under apga.
Kano people brought APC upon themselves due to ethnic and religious propaganda played by tinubu and buhari.
Today, citizens of both stated are doing everything within their possible means to keep APC away from their state, Kano, has partially succeeded, but a more wicked and malicious APC leader is holding IMO people captive, even after close to 3/4 of the state citizens boycotting the election, results were produced for them by APC controlled inec, imprisoning IMO citizens in APC's belly, quite unfortunate.
To bring APC is easy and peaceful, but to escape from their criminal grip, just like quitting a secrey cult, is frustratingly hard, and can only be achieved with brutal force of Will and war

You’re very stupid.

Name me ONE industry the British built in Nigeria.

In fact Name me ONE power plant they built.

Did they complete a single university in their time here, despite ruling and exporting our resources for a century?

CAPITAL NO.

Ewu fastest economy.

The thieves came and looted and robbed the nation blind for a century, enriching their country and queen, and you are here talking slave crap.

Were it not for independence in 1960, following which schools and other infrastructure began to be built en masse by Nigerian leaders, you would have been an illiterate hunter or palmwine tapper in the village like your grandpa under colonialism.

I just don’t know how the British managed to brainwash you people like this, to the point of seeing them as angels after they impoverished and robbed you blind for a century.

Tufiakwa.
Yes among the fastest growing economy in the world between 1960 to 1967, it then started reaping the fruit of oil in the 70s, but 3 sinister things happened between 1967 to 80 these was when the seed of failures were planted in Nigeria
1) Gowon abolished regional government, he created states and started unitary government, meanwhile calling Nigeria federal government of Nigeria, exactly opposite of what it means, go and verify.
2) experienced managers of multinationals and civil service, who were of biafran extraction were either demoted or outrightly sacked, this started the collapse of civil service and multinationals, they were replaced by newly recruited inexperienced poorly trained managers, took who instituted corruption and bribe taking, without knowing the consequencies of their action
3) indigenization policy, just like it happened in Zimbabwe, when Mugabe government retrieved land from white zimbaweans and handed it to black zimbaweans, without first assimilating blacks into modern agricultural practices and management, this resulted into the complete collapse of zimbawean economy then, in somewhat similar scenario, indigenization forcefully mandated multinational firms to handover 51% stake to nigerians, these led to an Exodus of majority of these multinational companies, cutting off Nigeria from international technological experience and advancement, the ones that remained crashed their shares and sold to Nigerians to beat the deadline, Nigerians were given loans from funds obtained by stripping biafrans off their deposits, leaving only 20 pounds each for biafrans, these new Nigerian owners of such multinationals became rich overnight, and started owambe party, by 2015 20% of such multinationals had collapsed and left, from 2015 to 2023, 65% had left making it 85%, soaring unemployment collapse of the naira and crashed economy is the only legacy Nigerians have now, no amount of tufiakwa and insult can change what had happened and the resultant effects.

When Awolowo in the 1950s requested that a Secession Clause be added to the Constitution Sardauna supported him

Go and find out the extent to which Azikiwe went to keep it out of the Constitution
Secession clause was as a result of insincerity and complete lack of nationalism on awolowos behalf, he destroyed the country by sponsoring the first coup, led by banjo through whom he financed nzeogwu, ifeajuna, ademoyega, banjo himself and their lieutenants, the coup was majorly foiled by ojukwu fajuyi and agu ironsi.
Politics › Re: I Blamed Lord Lugard For Nigeria Problem by jude79(m):
Lord lugard wasn't actually the problem, the British left a constitution that catapulted Nigeria to one of the fastest growing economy in the world, the derailment started when awolowo initiated the wild wild west saga, while fighting akintola, who he believed had a lighned with Nigerians from other ethnic groups, capping it up with sponsoring of the first coup de etat through banjo.
Secondly, when it was time for the military to hand over in 1999, abdulsalami handed us the 1999 constitution,
In this constitution, the legislative, the executive and the judiciary were the three arms of government, while the legislative members are elected, leaders of executive are also elected, sounds cool eh, no, it's crap, the devil is in the details.
1) The head of the body that' s incharge of the election, inec, is appointed the president, instead of bipartisan commission as is done in modern democracy, thus the acronym, independent electoral commission, INEC, becomes useless, and ends up handing the legislature to the president.
2) The chief justice, who is the head of judiciary is appointed by the president, instead of the national judicial commission, thus it's impossible to defeat the president in election or court, if he or she chooses to manipulate the system

What this means is that the 1999 constitution handed the legislative and judiciary over to the executive, making the government, a one arm government.
Thus, if the president is sincere, inec can hold credible elections, if the president is a criminal, then Nigerians are finished, and their votes won't count and they can't change a bad government, it will even be impossible to change a useless and incompetent president, after he rigs himself in, if you like bring evidence from heaven, the court will denied you justice, no matter how glaring the evidence is.

Mumu. Add PDP, LP, NNPP and G5 votes together and tell me your answer. Then, compare it with that of APC.

Lol. The same 2019 election that INEC chairman almost destroyed the APC chance of winning the elections by sending electoral materials of APC strongholds to another location? There was no so much disaffection for APC in 2019 compared to 2023, hence the 2 million votes margin.

Jonathan tried his best at rigging in both SS and SE but their voting strength just wasn't enough to pull weight. The same Jonathan who claimed that three different scanners couldn't read his fingerprint, thereby leading to the abandonment of scanners in both SS and SE to pave way maximum rigging through mass thumbprinting
It is what it is, add which vote, ohh!!, You mean the votes inec compiled electronically which gave it to atiku in 2019, but, presented manual figures after manipulation, and then claimed the electronic aspect of our electoral laws has not yet been passed, by 2022, it was passed, then they came up with the excuse of a GLITCH, LP was able to prove from Amazon servers that there were no GLITCH, but guess what, the president controlled judiciary can't do blip, so far as you control inec and judiciary, you can shift the goal post as much as you deemed necessary, nobody can win a sitting president or party, no matter how popular that candidate is, unless the ruling president, party decide to hold a free and fair election, as for zones, North Central went to labour, cause of what benue and plateau people suffered in hands of fulani herdsmen under buhari, north east was shared between labour and pdp, nw was shared between pdp and nnpp, south east and south south went to labour, sw was shared between labour, pdp and APC, in descending order, rest, your still a kid, neither do you know the inner manipulations in inec, since yo don't work there as I do, when you mature, you'll understand, Joseph stalin puts it succinctly "The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people who count the votes do" might I remind you also that buhari and tinubu, are staunch members of Stalin's political school of thought, ahh!! Tinubu sat silently watching PDP foolishly split into units while he was busy running around uniting APC. The ones he couldn't carry along like Amaechi he left them far behind..BUT he didn't insult them or rub it in their faces.

That's why we warned y'all. It is extremely daft tactics to be telling Tinubu not to run on Muslim- Muslim ticket or constantly telling him his errors. Of course he would go and correct them.

APC knew they couldn't win NNPP in elections..waited till the guy did all the heavy lifting and struck at his most vulnerable point.

This is the 2nd time APC would blatantly shove him out of the way, I can assure you in 4 years time, he wouldn't have people's sympathy. He spent the few months in power destroying properties. Another way of sabotaging himself. He blatantly campaigned against himself. grin

Politics is a game of chess. Not emotions - except you use it to your advantage.

His enemies don't like it; but Tinubu is a G.O.A.T. in politics.

He worked with Buhari, Osinbajo, Saraki, Dino, Fayemi, El Rufai who have all blatantly insulted him at different points. He has NEVER answered any of them. He just silently makes you irrelevant as he has done with many I listed.

BAT knew SE hatred for him was indirect campaign for him and he was mute. Don't be surprised if he funded Obidient campaigns against himself through 3rd parties. grin grin grin The mumus didn't know they were his pawns grin
Tinubu came third, inec catapulted him to first, it was not the division of pdp that robbed any party, but the bias of inec, pdp didn't divide in 2019 and won, while APC came second, but then again, inec announced APC, it's a match where APC lackey is the referee, the problem is from 1999 constitution, which gives president power to appoint the inec chairman, aka referee, instead of a group of party nominates as done in civilized democracy, pdp's Jonathan failed to manipulate this lacuna, because of his lack of criminal intelligence, but APC's tinubu being a criminal has been using it effectively, recall also that the president appoints the chief justice, so anybody can go to court but can't win APC in,any presidential election dispute
With these arrangements, even if all Nigerians voted for another party, APC will still win, 1999 constitution removed the power of the people and put in the hands of the president, this enslaving the people.

We are all political animals. Celebration is not only about going out making noise around. Some of us jubilated moderately and moved on with our lifes when court affirmed Sanwo Olu victory but it be callous of us considering the present economic situation to start doing unnecessary jubilation when they are yet to get it right in terms of governance
Interesting human specie, in the same comment, you stated "it be callous of us considering the present economic situation" again you stated "when they are yet to get it right in terms of governance"
that is, you accepted by default that same set of APC politicians laid waste to the economy and failed in every facet of governance for eight years running, but according to your post you went ahead and celebrated their win in court by these statement "some of us jubilated" ie, including you that is posting here.
Now that's an interesting admission, from an educated person, which leaves me more confused, the question is, WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS JUBILATION FOR? So in your wisdom and intelligence, the best you can do to a manager who laid waste to your company, is to celebrate and reward him with continuity, what specie of human does that.

In Nigeria, tinubu, who came third was declared by inec as winner of presidential election, in imo and kogi, uzomma and ododo, who both came third were declared by inec as winners in their governorship election, so what will prompt Nigerians to celebrate, what?
Already one agbadorian is giving useless football comparison as if Nigerians are fools,
In the Lagos he's giving comparison with, labour party won the presidential election, but the margin was reduced by the massive rigging unleashed by APC, this prompted the desperation during governorship election, that led to the profiling of an ethnic group and any educated, clean, good looking, well dressed and wealthy looking Nigerian, mostly prevented from voting, just to make sure that majorly uninformed miscreants and illiterate people's vote makes the win, yet they lost, but used inec to do their abracadabra, who celebrate such nansence, SMH!!!

Politics › Re: Why Is European Union Spelling Out Yoruba From Black Race During visa Survey? by jude79(m): 8:47am On Nov 17, 2023
Ruke1989:
Everything in the bracket is explaining the category of people from Caribbean being referred to. Yoruba slaves are the dominant slave population in the Caribbean. Read it this way:
1) African,
2) blacks,
3) Afro-american or
4) Caribbean blacks (including Yoruba)
The fact that a Yoruba man in the Caribbean is mixed race or light skinned because of inter-racial marriage doesn't make them white. So the emphasis on Yoruba could mean Yoruba Caribbeans are fond of trying to gum body with the white to boost their self esteem. But the whites are stylishly telling them that "we no be mate". Hence, the emphasis on Yoruba pointed out explicitly as black just to put the Yoruba back to where they belong

I know this doesn't please your narrative. Because you intentionally screenshot this because of a mental disorder called superiority complex. And you were expecting me to validate your thought process so your body can release some hormones of excitement
Exactly, the caribbean contain, three stocks, whites, natives and black slaves, of which the later is made of mostly Yoruba slaves, largely sold into slavery by influential slave trading families like the tinubu's of Lagos till early 20th century, due to their large numbers, the probability of some lucky ones among them having children with the whites is high, culminating in a large no of coloured people,
Owing to the fact that being white comes with a lot privileges in these countries, this Yoruba coloured products tend to claim white to access those privileges, but the white Europeans decided to highlight the differences to put them in their place.
The reason is because those of them with Yoruba DNA in their blood tends forge documents and are also involved in identity theft to hide their real identify, also they are more criminally inclined.
