me: yes...I gave him the letters
vo: I can see you have been there since 2008...
me: yes....October 2008
vo: who is paying for the trip?
me: Am sponsoring myself.
vo: how come?I thought seminarians don't work so don't earn money
me: I earn 100000 monthly, stipend from the church and monthly allowances from my family
vo: how much each and do you have a statement to show that?
me: 50k each and I gave him my statement of account.
vo: what does your father do?
me: he is a businessman.
vo: what kind of business?
me: he is into importation of ceramic tiles and sanitary wares.
vo: from which countries
me: Spain,Italy and China.
vo: your sister in law just got converted to the church, what was her old religion?
me: yes..am her spiritual mentor so I talked her into the conversion...she was an atheist.

I have been following this thread, Had my interview today at abuja and was successful. I appreciate God
first and then your contributions on this forum.
I think as much as this forum helps, be prepared for the
questions, they can come in any form. Do not allow your
confidence to drop cos it will reflect in your voice. be
truthful and pray for favour (very important). If you have
the ability to fast and pray do it. Be truthful in your
responses....they will find out though some applicants get
away with it.pls when will my visa be ready....

In my own opinion I think you have a strong chance to get the visa...
If you can convince yourself that you are coming back then I think you can convince the embassy.
1. How long do you intend to stay in the US. (Hope it wont be too long for them to suspect you want to escape)
2. You can let the family you are visiting send you an invitation.
3. Talk to your parish priest/administrator about the trip and they will give you a letter to the embassy that you will be travelling on the said period of your visit and that you will be on annual, compassionate or any leave..... That's to say you will not be needed during that period..
4. As for the funds, let them know the source of your income so long as you have enough to cater for your stay during the period of your visit and a little more..

BTW I don't even know USA embassy grin so wait for more comments on this
Thanks a lot for your response...I will be staying for 14 days...the family has sent me the invitation letter, and my parish priest has given me a letter too..I will let them know the source of income as you said.thanks again and God bless

Hello Nairalanders, I just had my interview today, it was awesome, I made it, i just discovered that all you need to get this Visa is God’s Favor and sincerity. I prepared as if as was going for a multimillion dollar job interview. I prayed like I have never prayed before. Then God proved it in my life that he still remains the “Ancient of days”.
I read a lot of testimonies about people that made it and pple that didn’t make it. I prepared myself with this nairaland.
A lot of people were turned back because they were not sincere, some could not prove what they filled in their form, someone was asked the hotel he lounged when he travelled to Germany, he couldn’t remember, a lady said she is a manager in a company bt she doesn’t know her company’s website. Some couldn’t describe their job description in details. It could be that they were naïve, fear or lying (you can cheat, cram your book in school but when it comes to job experience, it flows). Others did everything write but were not favored. That’s y u need God.
See the truth is that this consulates are not wicked neither are they selfish or self centered. They are well trained, so they know when u are lying or telling the truth. If not for nairaland I would have lied that I have travelled as an infant (because I read a documentary that if you have not travelled to other countries before that America will not offer you their visa) but I also read someone’s testimony he said he has not travelled out before and he was offered visa), who knows I would have been denied.
This was how my interview went:
Vo: Good morning
Me: Good morning
VO: were in America are you going to
ME: I am goin to bla bla bla
VO: have you travelled outside Nigeria before
Me: Nup
VO: what are you goin to do in the USA
Me: Vacation
VO: who are you going to visit
Me: my Uncle
VO: whatz his name
Me: I told her
VO: were do you work
Me: I told her
VO: tell me about your job
Me: I told her
VO: Tell me more about your job
(then it became interesting)
ME: I then explained in details what she doesn’t understand about my job description but because she observed that I knew what I was saying, she then said oh you work in soo soo soo industry I said yes.
That was all.
VO: you can come back in two days and pick up your passport
Me: thanks
I am not writing this cos I want to write, I don’t even have the strength, I am doing it because the post in this house gave me hope n serious understanding about what is happening at the embassy, so when I went, there was no difference. Am also given you hope that if you believe in God n believe yourself, the sky is your limit.
The Truth is that I bore the mark of “God’s Favor” on my forehead. Because I was scared when I saw them turned some VIP’s back.

congratulations.....that means Monday is the collection
