Pedagogue: The craziest thing any student can do is to challenge University authorities-in this case, the Nigerian Law School. In fact, Cultists are better treated than student activists.
Although Bello does not cut a picture of a student union leader, he certainly appears like someone that has an unbridled penchant for upsetting the apple cart. However , I will not 'judge' him until I hear his own side of the story.
My wife is a lawyer & I sought her opinion before putting in this comment. Her first response was 'hmmm the boy must be a rabble-rouser if indeed he had problems in a less-activism Uni like UI & was rejected by his principal during externship'. She however added that the Law School is very unpalatable. And that students pay hundreds of thousands for facilities they don't enjoy, and that is why the competition for seats is fierce. Yet, no one must complain because anyone that is not fit & proper will be expelled.'
Given the information, I have, I will hesitate from 'judging' the young lad. I see him as a metaphor for fighting the injustice at the law school. Wherein lies the future of the Noble Profession if students cannot exercise their right to dissent. Why expel the poor boy for having a different opinion? All he simply did can be summarised as PROTESTS. He didn't beat up anyone. He didn't steal. So why expel him & start the chronicling of his 'offence' from his days in UI?
Expulsion from the Law School is like shattering one's dream. It should be reserved for the most egregious offence. In my view, this expulsion should not stand.
The boy should go to court. He will win.
>go to court >against the law school >win? LWKMD. |

IamaNigerianGuy: Am I the only person who cannot see a concrete case against this Bello fellow ? Seems to me like the law school authorities are just making things up as they go along and looking for all sorts of reasons to punish the guy: he took someone's seat, he printed t-shirts in protest, he refused to answer queries, he had problems in his undergrad years, his principal sacked him bla bla bla. The sum of their arguments seems to be against his non-conformism. What is his main and concrete offence ? ok. now you are all just pissing me off. for God's sake stop commenting on issues you have not knowledge of. it s frustrating. go to NLS bwari or ask anyone about that guy before coming to a conclusion. btw I have several course mates in that law school branch. the guy was clearly challenged. |

mysticwarrior: Do you really think the US have a major concern for SK, they already knew that they whole of south Korea could be obliterated within 4hrs considering the range and destructive capabilities of those nukes. The US major concerns is focused on the safety of their own citizens, they made a comparative analysis of they range of the nuke recently tested by NK in order to determine if NK is capable of creating a weapon that could reach any US city 'and yes they could'. Reasonable evidence suggests that the only thing the US is afraid of is Nuke and not the size of your army, show them Nuke they will flinch test the nuke and they will QUIVER WITH FEAR and that is exactly what is happening. wrong. the u.s. has concerns over its citizens (thousands of whom reside in SK). now obviously NK having an icbm would be cause for worry (although the u.s. has successfully intercepted an icbm). http://abcnews.go.com/US/pentagon-conduct-intercontinental-ballistic-missile-intercept-test-heels/story?id=47724129But as has been clearly expressed, the main reason behind not going to war with NK is the danger it would pose to SK, a core ally. and no, this isn't just a question of morality (endangering an ally) but also a matter of principles and pragmatism (it would be a serious dent on the u.s. reputation to allow an ally suffer such monumental loses on their watch). Fact is it is inevitable that SK would lose a lot out of the war thus going to war would have to be an absolute last resort and with consent of some form from the SK govt. and no, SK would not be obliterated in 4 hours as you claim. a Nuke is powerful but not that powerful |

mysticwarrior: Let me quickly remind you that the pretext used by the US for invading Iraq was accusing Iraq of being in possession of WMD, and up till this moment they haven't given the world any proof that there was WMD in Iraq. Nukes are in heavy display in North Korea and they even tested it in the sea of Japan who happens to be an ally of the US, is that not a justifiable cause for an invasion? why are they using propaganda instead of doing exactly what they did to iraq? Cowards that's what they are. because a war would put milions of SK lives at risk. at least 25 milions to be exact. http://opera.pulse.ng/bi/politics/politics-defense-secretary-mattis-explains-what-war-with-north-korea-would-look-like-id6852738.htmlthe u.s. threatened a military solution if necessary right in China and Russia's faces. if NK make a mistake and cause significant damage to SK, then I can assure you there will be war. |

ollah1: Japan and SK wouldnt want that to happen. Well, their leaders might want that but the citizens will surely fight against it depends. the media can be a powerful tool in shaping opinions. also, just goggle reactions of SK citizens to the news of the icbm launch. those guys are clearly frightened. I m willing to bet at least half of them would have no problem with such a measure. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Calls Emergency U.N Meeting Over Success In North Korea Missile Test(Pics) by JUHABACH: 5:56am On Jul 06, 2017 |
ollah1: The US has a lot to lose just like China. Netiher parties want a war to break out regardless of their allies in East Asia. The US is the last person that wants a WW3 cos they might lose their super power state. North Korea isn't going to attack South Korea, China wouldn't even let that happen.
South Korea should be more worried about Donald Trump cos of his instability. Remember, they protested that THAAD should be evacuated from their land.
Left to me, I would have loved the Koreans to go back one while the North holds the military department, South would hold the commercial department. But the problem are their allies named China and USA. Who's gonna be their ally if that happens ? 1) you are right that no one wants a war. but the u.s. has never been afraid to threaten one right in china's face. Heck they did so just last night at the security council meeting. 2) you are right that there were some protests in SK due to the deployment of THAAD. but iirc, that was mostly from China who had concerns about the system's wide radar. 3) if anything, China is more afraid of a unified korea than the u.s. as that could create another superpower and "potential" ally of the u.s. who also shares borders with china. if that happens, that would be a major handicap which China cannot afford. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Calls Emergency U.N Meeting Over Success In North Korea Missile Test(Pics) by JUHABACH: 8:13pm On Jul 05, 2017 |
imho, the simple solution for the u.s. to get China to call NK to order is to threaten (and actually take steps) to put icbms in both SK and Japan. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Calls Emergency U.N Meeting Over Success In North Korea Missile Test(Pics) by JUHABACH: 8:04pm On Jul 05, 2017 |
ollah1: You are dead wrong. During the Korean war, North Korea was backed by China while South was back by USA. China would never allow anything touch North Korea cos they are their greatest ally in East Asia.
It's great USA will always have a reason not to attack North Korea cos their rougeness is over the roof. 1) the world was a much different place during the Korean War than currently due to globalization. currently China has too much to loss in a war against u.s. 2) the Korean War was more of a proxy war than a direct conflict. Heck it was basically an attempted invasion by north korea which was successfully repelled. 3) bruh, the potential loss of lives that would result in SK has been the constant reasoning behind u.s. reluctance to straight up nuke NK. 4) Would just like to add that even IF NK launches an icbm at u.s., it wouldn't even hit. u.s. already has the tech to intercept icbms. Notice that the u.s. is concerned by the recent developments mainly due to the risk posed to its allies in East asia. |

malele: Guy what are uu saying ? america is not even afraid of china let alone north korea. dont make a mistake, any war between north korea and USA , north korea will be destroyed completely and no single missile will land in america. the only fear america has is it allies close to that north korea On point |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Calls Emergency U.N Meeting Over Success In North Korea Missile Test(Pics) by JUHABACH: 11:35am On Jul 05, 2017 |
ollah1: Relax dude, USA woulsnt be attacking NK while Russia nd China watch from the sidelines. Especially China, cos NK is their biggest ally in East Asia bruh, the only reason U.S. hasn't bombed NK to kingdom come is due to potential collateral damage. more specifically, SK would suffer severe losses also (their capital is well within range of NK artillery especially numbering in the thousands). it would be impossible for u.s. to decimate NK without putting milions of lives at risk. And make no mistake, China would NOT retaliate against the u.s. unless it is directly attack. Sure it would make a lot of noise but the Chinese tend to look at the bigger picture and understand that a war with u.s. would be devastating. Heck they constantly scream blue murder about u.s. arm sales to Taiwan but refuse to actually break diplomatic ties and use economic sanctions as such measures would hurt just as much if not more that it would hurt the u.s. Fact is China is probably the most pragmatic nation on earth. The main reason China doesn't want the NK regime toppled is due to the fact that it would have a huge disstabilizing effect (see LIBYA) and could create millions of NK refugees who would task china's already stretched resources. |

Don't forget that Obama's administration removed Nigeria from the list of countries qualified for Green Card lottery.
Why are the alt-liberal, leftist media vocal now when they were dumb all through Obama's regime? ok i m gonna stop you right there. nice twisting of facts btw. trump would be proud. yes, obama stopped immigration from iraq for 6 months, HOWEVER, this was due to a specific event of discovering two terrorists from iraq hence a temporary pause was needed to basically up date the screening process. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/no-barack-obama-jimmy-carter-9717520trump's ban on the other hand has literally no reasoning behind it. heck even prrsons with dual citizenship and gfeen card holders are being affected. |

victornna: His name is Trump, not Obama. That decision is final, America is going to be Muslim free from now on whether you like it or not. Sometimes, people allow certain injustice done to them, not that they don't know what to do. Terrorists attack here and there, all from Muslims. Killing and maiming innocent souls. It has got to stop. I see this happening in Nigeria soon. and how many terrorist attacks have been launched by immigrants on american soil in the last decade. you do realize that the average american currently has a higher chance of being killed by a lawnmower than by a muslim immigrant? i would advice you to go out and educate yourself but it seems you as well as many others here would rather stew in ignorance so i m just gonna wish y'all goodluck. |

i ll say this though. this ban is just plain stupid. in the first place, a ban just means more foot soldiers for terrorist cells (you know, the very people america is constantly at war against) but more importantly is the fact that muslim immigrants are the least likely persons to commit terrorism (except your knowledge of the world is based around tv series like 24). in fact, including the 9/11 attacks and taking into account muslim immigrants since the 90s, americans have a 1 in 3.6 milion chance of being killed in a terorist attack. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/01/29/opinions/what-trump-said-about-travel-ban-is-false-opinion-aslan/ |
