i hate to break it to you, but you are the one who truly knows nothing. if you honestly think having money in your house (also mere allegations at this stage as there has been no proof presented by the dss) is proof of any illegality or money laundering for that matter, then i can only feel sorry for the nigerian educational system which has clearly failed you.

Even a toddler born in Nigeria is aware of the mindless brutality of our armed forces (from military to police to even traffic warders a.k.a yellow fever). But all of a sudden, due to their rabid pre-programmed hatred for buhari and Apc, some have chosen to develop selective amnesia or have chosen to just be wilfully delusional over these known facts. Anyway, the internet does not forget. I am yet to see any one of these buhari haters call GEJ a tyrant or a killer over the well known mindless brutality of the Nigerian military men towards unarmed citizens.

They don't see it that way. They see it from an ethno-religious point of view, fueled by political sentiments.
I have never been an ethnic bigot, and will never be; I stand for the truth and for equity, but sadly, these things are hard to come by.

Here on nairaland, I just try as much as I can not to comment, because, when I read some comments, I just feel like I could just bring youths together and talk to them, I feel like writing cannot fully express my sadness and concern towards their gross ignorance.

I'm hoping that with time I will start up a kind of awareness program; I'm not even sure of how to go about this, but would have to, because the Nigerian elites are poisoning the hearts of today's youths in a very dangerous way.

PoliticsRe: Presidency Insists Judges Must Step Down For Trial by JUHABACH: 9:23am On Oct 24, 2016
tete7000:
Their is only one body that has the power to suspend judges, NJC. It cannot go ahead and do so without presenting evidence as to why he is suspending them, so DSS must present its evidence to NJC. What if after suspending them, the evidences turn out to be hoax? How will you feel if you head NJC? DSS after the operation made Nigerians believe they presented Njc with evidence but it refused to act, forcing them to carry out sting operation. Now NJC has denied that and DSS cannot substantiate its allegation rather it is insisting that the judges step down without evidence, do you believe that is proper? If DSS has lied once, what is the assurance they are not lieing again regarding having evidence? Why did DSS start a unilateral operation it cannot end trying now to armtwist NJC? You started without NJC accusing it of bias, then finish off without NJC now! Why did it not follow law and collaborate with NjC to do the operation? Can there be any underlying motive?
The NjC cannot suspend judges without presenting reasons. The prerogative to step down rest with the judges, they can and they might not. Saraki didn't step down. Amaechi was accused by his state of corruption, he didn't step down and the executive didn't insist he does. The president was accused of not possessing requisite certificate prior to election, he went ahead to contest despite that; since he won he is yet to present his certificate yet he didn't step down and no one is insisting he does. Why should the judges step down now? What is good foe the goodies is good for the ganders they say.
I believe corruption can only be fought in an environment where there is strict adherence to law and due process. Executive and its agents are not doing that, they are simply ridiculing our system, fight a shambolic corruption war. Trying to fight one corruption with another. It won't work. Nigerians are too emotional, always jumping at every sensational news in the name of corruption fight. The only way to rid the country of corruption is to properly define it and let everyone including the executive start the corruption fight with itself by always following due process, else we push the country into chaos and anarchy. Justice is got only on moral principles. He who goes to equity, they say must go with clean hands. Let the executives remove the log in its eyes before trying to remove splinter on other people eyes. Executive itself is corrupt. Defiance of law and laid down regulation is the bedrock, the foundation on which corruption thrives.
i am so relieved that there are still intelligent people here. a thousand likes for this post.

Ok we shall see how this drama will end. The NJC will be happy when they see their learned lordships in handcuffs being led to prison. Better they wake up now to do the needful. The people they are trying to protect has messed up their integrity on political meddlesomeness . The cash found in their homes give room for suspicion . Let them begin to quote the law in the face of Buhari's desperation to sanitise Nigeria's mess.
1) there is NO ACTUAL proof that any huge sum of money was actually found. its all just allegations at this point though by the looks of things, it seems you have already passed judgement on the accused withot based solely on what amounts to the equivalent of mere gossip.
2) even if cash was found in their home, it really isnt a crimeto keep money in ones own home.the dss would have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the sum was acquired via illegal means which given the circumstsnces is next to impossible evrn if the defendant has access to an average lawyer. note that this isassuming the dss proves beyond reasonable doubt that the cash was found in the house ofthe accused persons.l
3) the dss's handling of the case has not only been extremely unprofessional and lacking the finese normally expected of such an agency and this will likely work against them once court proceedings formally begin.
4) lastly i will start to think about taking this so called war on corruption seriously once we get a detailed investigation intobuhari's election funds as well as several members of his cabinet.

Pls kcnwaigbo, NJC does not represent and is not an arm of government. Am surprised you are saying this.... NJC is an Executive body. Precisely, The National Judicial Council (NJC), is an executive body established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in accordance with the provisions of Section 153 of the 1999 Constitution. It's work is to protect the independence of the judiciary but that does not make it an arm of government rather it protects an Arm of government which is the judiciary.

http://www.njcgov.org/aboutus/aboutusprofile

Like I said earlier, it is one of the Federal Executive Bodies created by virtue of Section 153 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Others include:

(a) Code of Conduct Bureau;
(b) Council of State;
(c) Federal Character Commission;
(d) Federal Civil Service Commission;
(e) Federal Judicial Service Commission;
(f) Independent National Electoral Commission;
(g) National Defence Council;
(h) National Economic Council;
(i) National Population Commission;
(j) National Security Council;
(k) Nigeria Police Council;
(l) Police Service Commission; and
(m) Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission. copied from 1999 constitution.

http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/documents/ConstitutionalMatters/1999Constitution/ThirdSchedule.html
bruh pls stop confusing yourself. the NJC is the central body representing the collective power and independence of the judiciary. it is by all rights, an arm of govt given its duties.

So when a religion is engrossed in self inflicted injuries that can put human life at risk the government has a right to ban such religion.

i m not sure what your greivances are but as for the issue of innocent people going to jail, pls note that;
1) this is a big problem for just about every judiciary in the world. no system is perfect.
2) more often than not, the fault is with the law enforcement and the defense counsel. a judge can only work on what he can see and the evidence presented before him.
i believe ALL arms of govt are very corrupt but its a bit unfair t blame the judiciary for every wrong in the legal system.

i really dont care about this apc/pdp beef but your statement is incorrect. the increased focus on agriculture in nigeria started from the goodluck administration specifically under the former minister of agriculture mr adewunmi adesina. if anything buhari's govt due to its needless delay in apponting ministers significantly delayed the progress and growth of the agricultural sector. even now,the current administration is still making use of the iinnovations and programs on agriculture started by the goodluck administration.

I laugh when you, an obvious layman, say "legally speaking" with such courage and boldness.

Listen, immunity is not absolute. He can/should hauled before his state national assembly and tried there instead of a regular court, found guilty and impeached, then arrested to appear before a civilian court.

Immunity does not grant license for impunity.
i already stated that even without the immunity clause, wikedid no wrong given the circumstances. the DSS had or atleast showed no legal authority to act the way they did. if they had presented a warrant or any such court order that gave them the legal right to take the judge in question into their custody then the story might be different.
given the seriousness of what has occured, one has to wonder why the dss is yet to atleast release a statement. something is definately fishy about all this.

The same nigerians who want a better society now look at Wike as a good man or politician not remembering that the man got to his seat using the blood of rivers people during his election.He has to defend judge/s because he bought judgement from them
i seem to recall that there was violence from BOTH SIDES i.e. apc and pdp. you are making it seem like wike personally went about killing rivers state indigenes. and the judge in question from what i gather is a federal high court judge thus it is impossible that wike IF he bought a jugdement, bought it from yhis judge given that election cases are not determined by high court judges.

modath:
Do you think it's ok for the Judge to call on the governor and not the CJN who is his boss/ reporting line? Why is the judge without name or designation?
calling the governor was actually the more reasonable thing to do. from what i understand, the governor's house is about a stone's throw away from that of the judge in question. thus the governor was obviously in a better position to take immediate action unlike the CJN who iirc isbasedin abuja.
PoliticsRe: Dss Threatens To Shoot Wike. by JUHABACH: 12:38pm On Oct 08, 2016
Kgdavid:
Are you aware that a sitting governor just committed three grave offences?

1. Obstruction of justice
2. Obstructing a law enforcement officer
3. Abuse of office

In a true democracy, he would be impeached immediately
not only are those charges irrelevant since wike is a sitting governor and is thus immune, but to the best of mine and all our collective knowledge, the DSS didnot present any legal order such as a warrant which would have legalised their already questionable actions of trying to break into the resisdence of a prominent citizen at such ungodly hours.
legally speaking, wike is not wrong to interfere when the DSS not only failed to provide a legal reason behind their actions but also (allegedly) threatened to shot a sitting governor instead of trying to proffer an explanation or give legal documents or reasons backing their actions.
bottomline is even without his immunity to prosecuetion as a sitting governor, none of the charges you presented would hold up in any competent court.

EDIT; as regards his impeachment, given the circumstances, it is unreasonable to believe wike's actions constitute an impeachable offence.

Tinubu has been relegated to the sidelines in APC and forced to live in the confines of Burdillon like a mad man living in an asylum. Serves him right, he sold the south (the foolish ones not me) to the north. Now he is getting to shove the bitter pill of being used and dumped down his throat.

I knew his career in APC was near end, when Dino threatened to impregnate his wife and even walked the streets of Burdillon. Goes to show that Saraki sef his hunting the downfall of Tinubu so that he can also get control of the west. I am so happy APC, Buhari and Oyegun are curtailing his Godfatherism. We need no political warlords, we say no to imposition of candidates. Let the best man win freely and fairly

Tinubu's political career has come to a sudden end. What goes up must surely come down
1) tinubu is still very relevant politically. why else do you think APC is rushing to do damage control.
2) APC snd co. are not curtailing godfatherism. they are simply replacing the old godfathers with new ones.

SpitsOnYoruba:
If you plan on coming here, i have some tips that will save your life

Forget about the America they show you on the T.V
They're thousands of homeless people sleeping on the streets Los Angeles, New York and the big cities
There are places in the USA where people still live in the cave, doesn't wear clothes or shoes and no electricity or running water
There are places in New York that are 100 times worse than Ajegunle

USA is the country where you get killed for wearing a Nike or Jordans sneakers worth only $120

In the USA, you can't just walk into some streets or neighborhood you don't know like you do in Nigeria

Do you wanna know how dangerous USA is ?? Come to Compton or Chicago, you will live in Afghanistan for 7 years without being killed, you can't live in America for 2 days without being killed or your friend being killed

20 of my friends were killed last month for nothing, just sitting in their homes and they were gunned down

1. Don't argue with Americans, they're the most ignorant people on earth

2. Don't get in trouble with anyone, buying a gun is very easy, you walk into Walmart, give them $100 and they give you a gun

3. Americans glorify violence, if you go to jail or kill someone, to them you're a God, killing you will make them feel accomplished, so don't try to argue with anyone

4. Don't go to nightclubs

5. Don't go to the ghettos

6. Mind your goddam business

7. When stopped by the police, give them all your information, license, registration, proof of insurance, don't worry about going to jail if your your driving papers ain't up to date, you will spend only 1 hour in jail and you will be bailed with $65

8. American police are trigger happy, do whatever they tell you to do, don't argue, in fact lay on the floor immediately they ask you to

9. Americans talk too much like women, don't waste your precious time talking with them

10. The most dangerous country in the world is USA
I'm from Nigeria and have been living in the USA for 12 years but i go to Nigeria every 6 month.

Let me tell you, the very first day i came to America, i landed in New York city, i was so disappointed and wanted to go home immediately
Those fantasizing about the USA are those who haven't been to America

USA is the most dangerous country in the world
Chicago is just a city in the states of Illinois, they're the murder capital of the world, Detroit is the second, California is the third

I've seen about 200 murders in the USA but i haven't seen any murder when i was in Nigeria, how is Nigeria or Africa dangerous ??

The police will kill innocent people and at the end of the day, no charges, no jail sentence, there will still be in the police force

As for the citizens, A child doesn't know who his father is because his father is in jail and will never get out, the child will have kids before the age of 23 and before the age of 27, he commits a murder and gets a 70 years prison sentence, the cycle continues and never stops
Killing people is nothing to them

The number of murders that occur in Chicago and Los Angeles in a year is greater than the number of murders that happens in every country in this world put together

Always remember, USA belongs to the Indians, these people from the great Britain came into the USA in 1776 uninvited, killed all the Indians, raped their women, took their lands and named it "USA" and you think they give a fucck about your life ??
i know you are lying...but i find your fiction entertaining so continue. *grabs popcorn*
