Duru009: Are you not aware dat the president has a VETO power to reverse any sanction both in the presidential and the federal system of govt. first of all, i think you are overestimating the power and scope of veto power especially as it applies to the american democracy. secondly, the last thing trump wants to do is anger the republican senators, most of whom want even stiffer sanctions. he cannot get anything done without their support especially since the democrats will do everything in their power to oppose trump. if he goes against them on this, then he may as well kiss any potential deal with russia goodbye as it would require congresdional approval which is dominated by wait for it...republicans who hate russia and detest putin. |

Duru009: He should know dat any decision taken now will be reverse by Donald trump... that doesnt answer my question though. not to mention most republicans are with obama on this one (despite the fact that they detest him) and some prominent republicans are even calling for stiffer sanctions. this isnt something trump can revoke easily. |

waywardpikin: Ragnar doesn't hold all the aces, and if you read up on Vikings history, Ragnar meets his end at the hands of King Aelle. He was thrown into a pit of snakes.
Lagertha had every reason to kill Aslaug biko. She was a snake and would have tried to scheme her way back to power, a complication Lagertha doesn't need. Great show man. actually ragnar does hold all the aces. even king ecbeth has realized this. all ragnar wants to do is die so he really only cares what happens to ivar. fact is that there is nothing king ecbeth can do other than comply with ragna's request to be sent to king aelle (and be killed obviously as ragna had planned). if ecbeth keeps him prisoner or kills him, he would be risking a war with ragna's sons which even he knows they wont win. if on the other he complies with ragna's request, only king aelle will feel the wrath of ragna's sons especially if ivar is guaranteed safe passage home to give his brothers and lagertha the news completely agree that aslaug's death was necessary. |

HungerBAD: Alibaba you are wrong.
What is wrong with you?when you were a student of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma(Bensu then),you were squatting at the hostel and practically begging to feed.
Today you have blown up,and you are describing the wages of the Falcons as peanuts?talk of arrogance.
What did this Clown read again?Philosophy. And if not for the fact that God smiled on you,you would still have been philosophizing on the road side with Aristotle, and talking to yourself like a mad man.
Even Dangote has not referred to any body's money as peanuts, let alone somebody who for now,is getting fed and clothed by his well to do wife.
The Falcons have a right to ask for their wages, and I am in support of them, and for Alibaba,he should shut up.

SycophanticGoat: Truth is, the massacre of Christians is a welcome development to those demonic fanatics that us why a supposed human being that puts food thru his mouth and breath through his nostrils will call the attack on Christians and beheading of pastors a peaceful protest. Boko haram only became a problem to them when people of same faith started feeling the heat too.
Some Nigerians are the most devilish and bigoted set of idiots to walk the face of the earth. i do not understand your point. please show me where or when exactly members of the shia sect beheaded or even hurt any body during their protests. pls sir stop promoting ignorance. from what i ve heard, the shia sect played a significant role in protecting corpers during the 2011 post election violence. |

Ferdinandu: Wanted to say that these guys have freedom of peaceful protest and that there is freedom of religion in this country. But on the contrary I remembered that Boko Haram started peacefully like this but degenerated into a monster that wanted to consume us all. Now I said No room for religious fanatism in this country again. All of them must die first before they cause another mayhem in this country again. They should carry their stupid sect back to Iran. first of all boko haram didnt originate from peaceful protests, but from a group of persons radicalized by their leader yusuf. secondly since when duid peaceful protest against perceived injustice become synomous with religious fanactism?! these people have been persecueted constantly for the most part of the year (iirc there was a video of one of their member's deceased body being dragged through a waste dump) yet have only continued with peaceful protests and your bright idea is to further provoke them? pls believe me when i say that if the shia sect decide to become an actual terrorist group, then this country will be in very big trouble |
Politics › Re: Court Of Appeal Dismisses Jimoh Ibrahim's Application (pics) by JUHABACH: 5:09am On Nov 11, 2016 |
solace2013: The position of the LAW as at today: Jegede's Application for Leave to appeal Justice Abang was Granted, but Leave to appeal doesn't mean Jimoh Ibrahim's name has been removed from INEC list. It simply means that Jegede has the right to appeal Abang's judgement, Now this is the procedure as provided by Civil procedure rules of Nigerian Courts.: Jegede will file appeal after that he will transmit record, he will follow it with filing of his brief of argument while Biyi Poroye will file a Respondent brief to be followed by reply brief by Jegede. After all these, the appeal would be entered for hearing. All these cannot take less than 90 days. Meanwhile Poroye has filed an appeal against the Judgement of today which will still drag and drag. Either PDP supporters likes it or not, Jegede cannot be part of an election that will hold in 16 days time. I personally advise PDP supporters who are more educated and sensible should try and educate the public and not misleading them. Jimoh (ARABA) Ibrahim remains the authentic Candidate for PDP in the Coming Election, Jegede is OUT for now till all the pending applications are settled legally in the court of law and not on the streets of Akure jubiliating what they don't know. They should be crying by now for not appealing Justice Abang judgement of June,2016 or better still, Let Iroko and his protegee look for Plan B.. from what i hear, the court is determined to deliver a substantive judgement by next week. even if the appeal takes too long and judgement is delivered after election, should jimoh ibrahim win, you do realize that the court can substitute him for the person determined to be the substantive candidate of the party (there is judicial precedenr for this). basically it is in the interest of both parties to get judgement as soon as possible. |

kabukabu: Here are the simple facts for Nigerians back home. Trump is for *lower taxes on business to encourage business growth and expansion *Deportation of illegal immigrants who have committed crimes *Restrict American involvement in all countries, withdraw from NATIONAL and increase ties with Russia and China. *Increase American spending on infrastructure at home and reduce dependence on foreign goods and oil.
Hillary is for *Gun control increases which is against law abiding citizens *More and higher taxes on middle and high class including business owners *Abortion *Same gender marriage *No deportation of illegal immigrants
Most Nigerians are conservative and would never vote for someone like Hillary. Most Nigerians however are simply not well versed enough to notice the stark differences between Democrat and Republican policies If you are a Nigerian supporting Hillary in the US. you are probably under 25 yrs old and know nothing about politics and you probably never grew up in Nigeria. read and learn https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/oct/19/third-presidential-debate-fact-check-trump-clinton |

Politics › Re: Supreme Court Judges Accused Of Corruption Step Down by JUHABACH: 10:16am On Nov 01, 2016 |
AfroKnight: For once in this country, accused public servants are doing the right thing. If a Supreme Court judge cannot show example and step down while under investigation, then who will?
It is however sad that the NJC could not suspend them for such weighty allegations. This shows that bribery and corruption is so common among the judiciary that they can no longer realise how shocking these accusations are. Shame on the NJC and shame on those lawyers who supported them.
Those who have been robbed of justice know what it feels like to lose a clear case because the judge accepted a bribe. sorry bruh but your post is clearly biased. by your logic, if someone made allegations against you without proof , you would feel justifed getting suspended (which in the eyes of the public implies guilt) without even a shred of actual evidence of wrongdoing. heck buhari should have withdrawn as presidential cadidate the instant the allegations about his certificate were made by your logic. you say shame on the NJC, you should also be ashamed of both the executive and the legislative based on the various allegations of corruption levied against both institution. atleast the judges acted honourably and voluntarily withdrew from sittings. |
