I don't mean to insult you. You are ignorant of the situation in Nigeria. Some western ountries redesign their currency every 9 years to curb money laundering. Goggle it. But this is not what your CBN is trying to do now. Though your CBN will fool you by claiming to fight money laundering. Ask yourself why CBN never tried this until now. Also watch out for when next CBN will redesign the currency again. This move by CBN is purely political. It is an attempt to weaken one cabal and favour another cabal in the upcoming election.

First of all, you speak about kidnappers. Boko terrorists are the major kidnappers in Nigeria and they get the major ransom paid in Nigeria. The terrorists get whatever they want. The redesign of the currency is not targeted at the terrorists. Government itself pays the terrorists ransom. Just look at your logic. Between giving terrorists the currency and trying to stop them from spending the currency they have, which one is easier for the government to achieve? The government that has on many occasions given the currency to the terrorists? Terrorists that can easily highjack another set of train passengers just to ask the government to change old Naira notes for the terrorists? You are far from the reality in Nigeria.

Talking about politicians hoarding cash, it is a matter of time for the politicians to get enough of the new notes. Printing new notes makes no difference when the financial policy is unchanged.

See yourself. This is how people like you claimed that BVN, NIN and SIM card registration are targeted at terrorists. But terrorism became worse after Nigeria embraced these things.

Talking about e-Naira and cashless economy, how does redesigning the Naira note aid these two things? Does the new design have chips to aid e-Naira? Must the CBN redesign Nairobi notes (physical cash or hard currency) before the CBN can make policies that will encourage e-Naira and cashless economy? You are not logical here at all.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has banned the operations of casinos and gaming centres in the state, including BetNaija over alleged "dark deals".

Popular gambling services in Nigeria include Bet9ja, 1960bet, Nairabet, 9jaPredict and BetNigeria.

The notice of the ban is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Donatus Onyenji; Chairman, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Richard Madiebo and the Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Chikodi Anara.

According to the statement, the ban is a sequel to a worrisome number of petitions recently received by the government concerning the manipulation of casino machines and non-transparency in payment for winnings.

It said the allegations amounted to serious abuse of global best practices in the industry which the government under the watch of Governor Chukwuma Soludo would not condone.

The statement partly read, “This fraudulent practice will not be allowed to thrive under the watch of Prof Chukwuma Soludo’s administration and therefore must be dealt with immediately.

“Consequently, the Anambra government hereby directs operators of casino games in Hotels, Restaurants and Bars to suspend all Gaming and Casino operations with immediate effect pending the conclusion of investigations.”

Meanwhile, the government has summoned a meeting of all hotel owners and managers in the state on October 21 at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre.

The meeting it said would address issues of enumeration and validation of hotel licenses as well as security, warning that it is mandatory.

It said hotel revalidation forms would be distributed at the venue for all categories of hotels and tourism enterprises, adding that any hotel that was not profiled or without Hotel License would be closed down according to Anambra State Tourism and Hospitality Law.

Hundreds of communities In Nigeria are experiencing severe flooding of biblical proportion, the most disturbing part of the whole thing is that the Nigerian government are not doing anything about it, they seem to be dumbfounded, without an idea of what to do to help millions of Nigerians affected by flooding, It is very disturbing that since the flooding started , we have not seen Nigerian government in action doing search and rescue and providing help to the flood victims.
This is very serious, it seems there is no government in Nigeria, victims are left on there own, without help, in other countries , by now you would have seen the army, navy, civil defense, police and airforce doing search and rescue in these flooded communities, but they are all missing in action, what a shame, what kind of country do we really have?

I am saying all these because I lived in Anambra state Onitsha to be precisely when he was in power, Anambra state was the economic powerhouse of eastern Nigeria where we have Onitsha main market which is the largest Market in west africa, it was Obi that made business to conducive for us to have that market and others like Ngbuka, Ochanja,

Was none existence before Obi came to power and he came and did his best in terms of infrastructure, most of the bridges and roads he built is still standing till date, go and verify.
