With bed rest the risk of excessive weight gain is high making women on bed rest more prone to gestational diabetes.
Ways to go about it is to get involved with minimal physical activities by moving what you can of your body, stretching what you can with the permission of your provider, ensure you are well hydrated, monitor what you eat and stay comfortable .

Let me suggest a topic......how to prevent and manage pregnancy induced diabetics. Am a FTM and do not have an idea but am sure we have alot of sabi mamas here.
Still eyeing my team members though I wish to join two teams in case I decide to port.
And thanks to everyone for the prayers and support when I lost my first pregnancy. I pray we all have a stress free pregnancy and easy delivery.

All this has to do with mentality. If the mother is illiterate or educated but still holds onto those olden days believes, she might not be understanding enough. So, please give her for peace to reign.

I always prefer government hospitals to private. They have more experienced hands and its cost effective. Those private hospitals are money making ventures. Your wife will carry her pregnancy to term and deliver safely.

My EDD was supposed to be in June but I had miscarriage in December. I couldn't come here since then. I just had the courage this week to come back here and I can see those we started together already preparing for favor room experience. May God make it easy for you all. Hello mamas/papas in the house. Great job with this thread...I have been on this thread for sometime now but I am seriously considering going for an IVF because it seems like my best option right now.

I got married in mid 2016 and hubby and I were apart for a year. But we have been together for over 2 years now but nothing...never been pregnant even once. Anyways, we started seeing a reproductive endocrinologist recently and he is suggesting IVF. DH's sperm analysis showed low motility and zero normal shaped. He has also had one testicle removed and an hernia surgery. The doctor said he is not so worried about the motility because he can help improve that but that the absence of any normal shaped semen is his fear.

Now, we are in the US and IVF is crazy expensive here but dh and I have decided to take a loan or whatever and do it (apart from the sperm issues, we are both AS and were planning to do Amniocentesis or something along that line). However, now since we have not even been able to conceive, we think we will be killing two birds with a stone (very expensive stone though).


My questions then are:
1. Would the issue of having no normal shaped semen not also affect the success rate of the IVF
2. Has anyone on this thread (or anyone you know) done IVF in the US? Need to ask some questions
3. Any general advise for me and my issues

IVF can be done using your egg/your husbands sperm, Donor egg/husband sperm, and your egg/ another man's sperm. And Usually,the donor egg is that of a lady with genotype AA only,so you can go for the IVF using a donor egg or donor sperm.

I'm a FTM too but what helped me was getting a nice pregnancy pillow. Its called pharmedoc, I used it throughout first trimester till late second trimester that I got comfy. Now its DH that uses it sef .

Team June bawoni, how all day sickness a.k.a morning sickness(no b only morning e dey do person) as for me the thing hold me reach mouth, it not easy but may God make it easy for us. To d senior mamas hope is OK to sleep on my Tommy cos I usually find myself on my tommy, sleeping on d leftside is not working for me. Pls help a ftm, don't wanna hurt my princess. Hoping for a girl so baby will b refer to as she(cover face)

Its not easy, my left hand is even paining me due to sleeping on my left side. My mouth is also very bitter. Its well with us. Can't wait to reach second trimester.

Hello everyone, thank you all for the congratulatory messages. I'll try to make it as short as possible.

So, my EDDs were 25th, 17th, 14th and 18th but I put to bed on the 12th of November at 39wks+2days by 4:27pm to a beautiful girl who weighed 3.5kg and gave me 2 internal tears and one external tear the nurse had to give to let my big baby easy passage to her new world but in all I thank God, he already planned everything for ease.

So, Tuesday was my antenatal and I didn't want to go, already told my husband that I wouldn't be going because I didn't want to waste the day on just the same visits with nothing different from previous visits because I wasn't having any symptoms of labor and also because the doctor had put me 1 week ahead of my own calculation based on my first ultrasound. This made me think I still have about 2wks to be 40wks.

Tuesday morning, my hubby said I should go and I obeyed. On getting to the hospital at 8am, my contraction started getting regular at 20 minutes apart. It was my turn to see the doctor around 11am and while we were talking about my vitals, I only mentioned that I noticed the regular contractions which was already 8mimutes apart at that time. He said he must do a VE which he did with a nurse and discovered I was 4cm dilated with no pain, no water break, no previous bloody discharge until the VE.

He told me he can't let me go home that I would most likely put to bed around 4/5pm so I should call someone to bring my bag ( I haven't packed it yet although everything had been bought. We just moved to our new place less than 2wks ago plus I just finished my MBA semester exam and that's why I didn't pack early). Anyway, I called my sister and she packed it, called hubby too.

I was placed on oxytocin to hasten everything. I got to 8cm dilation still no pain or any water breakage or anything. The doctor told the nurse to rupture the membrane and then I started feeling labor pain and in about 30 minutes, my baby was out. I was sutured where the nurse cut and it was discovered I had 2 internal cuts cos I was bleeding. All was sutured and I could walk around that same day and was discharged by 10am the next day. Baby, mummy and daddy are all fine. God perfected everything and I give all glory to him.

Where you told personally or generally?Reasons is that cleaning the nipples with olive oil and massaging at later stage of pregnancy can cause contraction for some people. It also makes the nipples leak milk.
That's why it's advisable to start when you're close to delivery.

Washing with soap does not necessarily make the nipples clear of those thick protection. I also wash with soap
