Career / Re: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by Jusome: 11:35am On Dec 09, 2016
Allwility:

In addition to what zeongeon has said, I'd recommend you go for firefighting training in line with the oil and gas industry. In Nigeria, there are OPITO recognized course providers that conduct such training. I'd also recommend you do Confined Space Entry, Confined Space Rescue, H2S Alive, Work at height rescue training, Fall protection and Authorized Gas Tester training.

All the best!!

thank you very much....i recently saw UK HSE going for 40k instalment plan inclusive Nigeria own is 45k with no instalment plan...what are the advantages of both...@ zeongeon also

zeongeon:
Your already in the line of HSE since you have been into fire fighting. I guess its career development you want now that's why you opting to do certifications.

I will advice you start with ISPON which use to be NISP because ISPON has been signed into law and in time to come you will be having Nigerian organization asking for ISPON certificates as a requirement and also you may not be able to practice or work as a HSE professional without getting certified by ISPON. ISPON is a good place to start from.

Since you have got fire fighting experience and if your willing to continue in the fire safety line then you can go for Nebosh certificate in fire safety. If you don't want to streamline your self to just fire safety then you can go for Nebosh IGC, IOSH or OSHA courses, IMS certs.

Have in mind that HSE is very broad and requires continuous professional development if you really want to enjoy yourself.

I will advice you take your first step by doing ISPON courses then whilst doing ISPON you can research and ask questions to help with your next line of action.

Hope my advise has done justice to your questions.

All the best.

best Advice of the year 2016 thanx alot

Education / Re: Nairaland Interschool debate: Equating HND with BSC: Winner: OAU by Jusome: 5:40am On Mar 06, 2016
the only way.GOVERNMT CN EQUAT HND N BSC is to use NYSC DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE TO RECRUIT INTO LEVEL 8 while they use discipline of study to do POSTING were ur field of study is required...example HND ELECTRICAL ENG. has NYSC cert...and BSc ELECTRICAL ENG has NYSC cert so the two certicate are IN equilibrium at NYSC CERT there Governmt should say that if u av NYSC CERT U WIL BE RECRUITED INTO.LEVEL 8 but we use.ur course of study to.knw if u wil be posted to Accountng departmt or Engineering departmt...then dos wit no nysc cert av d opportunity of avng EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE...so wht are we nt saying..

Family / Re: Why Is It A Challenge For Single Mum's To Get Married? by Jusome: 9:19pm On Apr 15, 2015
it all depend on choices....one man meat is another mans poison....any man who cant marry a woman dat has a child out of wedlock should not conderm another man who marries a single mother...alot of persons marry for many reasons.....since there is no where in the bible is it commanded either to marry a single mother or not to marry is on personal preferences...so no one should conderm anyone who cant marry or agree to marry...once dere is mutual understnding one can mary a single mother...the child may turn out to be an important figure in the society....JOSELPH IN THE BIBLE MARRIED A SINGLE MOTHER....marry was not loose or immoral but she gave birth to Jesus before joself strtd avng sex with her.....in the same vain grls who are truely victims of rape and got pregnant are not loose or immoral thus is not bad if any man agree to marry her....the secret to family hapiness is all about WIFE HAVING DEEP RESPECT FOR THE MAN, THE MAN LOVING THE WIFE AS HIS OWN BODY...CHILDREN BE OBEDIENT TO UR PARENT....MARIAGE BED BE WOTHOUT DEFILEMENT....we cant say somone who is immoral cant repent afterall rehab in d bible was not a vigirn but a prostitute and JESUS came from her linage of chronology of acestors...so if u love a grl..marry her if she has a baby love her for who she is...true who is not just about wht u feel but combination of wht you feel and know about a person
Family / Re: Why Is It A Challenge For Single Mum's To Get Married? by Jusome: 5:09pm On Apr 15, 2015
supose the young girl...aborted the baby and appear single....how wil u know...the fact she save the baby shows she values life....once you love the woman wht big deal does it make to marry her....mariage is all about Gods blessing there are 1million single dat has had sex and abortion and stil clame single and decent marrying............there is aways two side of a coin at list d fact she has a baby shows she.can give birth than marry a baren woman who has removed her womb during process of abortion

The National Youth Service Corps has announced that the
scheme has planned to mobilize about 220, 000 corps members
in the two batches of 2015.
Earlier in the year, the NYSC announced that there will only be
two batches this year as against the traditional three batches.
Batch A will hold in May 2015 and Batch B in September 2015.
The Scheme revealed that the rationale behind the decision was
to ensure the protection of corps members.
By calculation, this will mean the there will be an average of
110, 000 corps members per batch. This means there’ll be an
average of 2,972 corps members per state, a number that clearly
exceeds the carrying capacity of most NYSC camps.
NYSC has planned to mobilised about 220,000
corps members for 2015

In another development, the NYSC through her Director of
Planning Research and Statistics (DPRS) have disclosed that the
Scheme will likely operate two streams per batch during the
2015 Mobilization exercise.
This decision is based on the fact that the number of corps
members to be mobilized in 2015 are expected to exceed the
handling capacity of most orientation camps.
The disclosure came during a tweetmeet with the Director on
27th January 2015. While answering other questions, the DPRS
also stated that as many corps members as possible will be
accommodated in 2015 to make up for the non-existence of
Batch C and the postponement of Batch A 2015 to May.
With the dual batch method in place, each orientation camp is
expected to carry about 1486 corps members per stream in
2015.
