Kenyans are not anal about Rice like west African.We produce about 200k metric tonnes and consume about 400k mt last I checked.We are water deficit country so don't expect us to produce a lot of rice.We import about 200-300k mt mostly from Pakistan.Our stable food is maize...and we have small deficit..and have huge strategic reserve stored in huge silos...so we never have food inflation of 15% like Nigeria or worse like Ghana.
