rvp20182: 1) Fake GHANA electricity Access.
We already debunked the 95% ( you have 3-4M metered households). For a country of 28M people - assuming 4-5 people per household - you should have nearly 7M metered households. South Africa with 56M have nearly 17M metered customers. Kenya with 47M we have 7M plus metered customers.
2) Over capacity from the most Idiotic or corrupt PPP (Power Purchasing Contracts) ever signed.
How you end up signing up 5,000 MW EXPENSIVE THERMAL GENERATORS when you can barely consume half of that. Now imagine paying 1B dollars to power producers who never gets to do nothing.
That 1B dollars is enough to build you 200Kms of railway every year with rolling stock. You'rebasically flushing down the altantic sea 1B dollars.
There is no surprise why your country is always almost ever on IMF bailout programme. Your country has possibly the worst policy wonks in Africa. Basic projections elude you - I mean even us we had ambition for 15,000MW but we had the sense to stop - before we had to pay for overcapacity. I dont know what you are drinking but you must be high on Ghana wee. whiles Ghana is not the subject of discussion for today, I will take a few minute to bring sense to your head. Ghana has 6.6 Million household based on the 2013 housing data generated on the 2010 census ECG serves close to 4.5Million of those households Nedco serves 1Million households the remaining 600,000 households are served directly by VRA mini grid projects 17,000 by Solar pv systems Only 300,000 HOUSEHOLDS are not connected to the as at 2019. they are spread accross three regions of which 2 are in the north and one in the east |

rvp20182: Kenya is not a west african jungle like Ghana. If you're really really interested in facts...about kenya...they are all over.
Our taxes are collected by KRA - Kenya Revenue Authority - they like any kenya public institution make public reports.
Start here for 2018-2019 (last year)
https://www.kra.go.ke/images/publications/Revenue-Performance-Report-2018-19.pdf
Here is a summary because you're too lazy. Last year ORDINARY REVENUES was nearly 16B dollars - growth of 11%. This exclude what we call A-I-A (court fines, licensing fees, service charges, agency fees, et) - total were around 20B dollars.
Revenue collection in FY 2018/19 (July 2018- June 2019) reached a new record with Kshs. 1.580 Trillion collected, compared to Kshs. 1.435 Trillion collected in FY 2017/18. Revenue grew by 11.3% compared to the previous year’s 5.1% growth. Revenue collected has more than doubled over the last seven years from Kshs. 0.707 Trillion in FY 2011/12. The exchequer revenue grew by 11.5% with a collection of Kshs 1.477 Trillion against Kshs 1.340 Trillion collected in FY 2017/18. In addition, KRA collected other duties including Agency Fee amounting to Kshs 103 Billion. This is revenue collected on behalf of other government agencies mainly at the ports of entry. They include Railway Development Levy, Traffic Fees, Land Rent and Cash in Transit amongst other levies. The FY 2018/19 performance compares well with the prevailing economic indicators including GDP growth of 6.1%, and i don't know why you have to lie all the time total revenue from Kenya for 2019 was 15 billion dollars. |

There is nothing Kenya or any country can ever learn from Nigeria except bad manners.Youre the closest to a cursed country in the entire planet...you have wasted 1 trillion dollars of oil. There is absolutely nothing to show for it.You see Kenya pics and you cannot believe that we have zero minerals. even private airlines in Nigeria make profits |

KQ has never made a profit. likewise, SGR will never make a profit, especially when it is costlier to transport goods using it |

rvp20182: Say the idiots who are on 16th IMF Bailout and are paying 1B dollars excess capacity charge to thermal power plants. The difference btw Ghana and Nigeria is the same power sector wise...one has few power producers running huge thermal generators and billing the country crazy...the other has everyone running their generator and paying 40 cents dollars per unit.Smart countries like Kenya is top 5 world-wide in cheaper renewable energy. As for our debt management we had a long history of prudence in public financial management. something is wrong with your head whiles 40% of your people sleep in darkness because they can neither afford to connect themselves to the national grid or buy generators or afford solar, Ghana has managed to connect 95% of the country and creating an overcapacity that will last at least 5 years before we will have to invest in generation capacity again. whiles the ruling government is complaining about paying for over capacity, it is busily industrialising the country hence creating more demand for power. Now all our companies can run at full capacity but as usual, Kenya cannot afford to plan ahead because no one will sink money into your hell hole. |

rvp20182: We are 47m.Our ordinary tax revenue are projected at 17-18B.our Appropriation in Aid at 3-4B.Total 21B.The rest we will borrow prudently.China as creditor is not as cruel as your daddy the IMF who literally runs Ghana.China are really chilled out and I'd bet if we were to be hard pressed they'd give us more time to repay. They have way too much money unlike the broke IMF. let deal with what we know to be facts your tax revenue is 12 billion and that is meagre for 53 million people The Chinese have already seen the light and are in a hurry to pull out of Kenya hence the reluctance to give you any more money to complete the rail. |

rvp20182: We are yet to ask for IMF Bailout so worry less... Ethiopia have asked the Chinese to reschedule the sgr debt..that is an option we can take...but we are happy repaying our debts unlike Ghana Ghana didnt need to ask the chinese to reschedule to money we borrowed from them We repaid them after 2 years and they left. IMF give us 800M to help solve our dollar shortage as we entered a severe energy crisis where we had to rechannel state resources. And in three years, we spent close to 15 billion dollars in expanding our energy infrastructure targetting demand, supply, transmission and the availability of fuel. That is the single largest investment made in any short term period on any sector in Ghana. And today, all those investments are making profits. |

rvp20182: Why isn't IMF running Kenya like it's run your rudderless country.Kenya revenues are about 21b...taxes projected to bring in 17-18B and A-I-A( licensing fees, fines, services charges) about 4 B dollars.Tell you what if you remove minerals royalties n taxes from Ghana revenue...your taxes are less than our A-I-A.Nigeria is even worse because their revenues is almost exclusively oil money. you are not making sense for 53 million people to be collecting 12 billion in taxes is disappointing. IMF is not running Ghana . China is running Kenya, from your biggest infrastructure project all the way down to everything in mombasa. we've all seen what projection has done to your SGR |

rvp20182: SGR is long term project that will last 200yrs plus.
Kenya SGR is ahead it's schedule and will break even soon. Nigeria SGR that began about 10yrs earlier than Kenya SGR is still under construction..mere 150Kms btw Lagos-Ibandan ...Ghana is still under 'research'.
While Kenya has clocked nearly 700-800kms of greenfield(new) SGR together with two dry ports.
The railway earned a combined Sh8.8 billion over the period from the two services, a 136 per cent jump from Sh3.73 billion earned over a similar period in 2018, according to the latest data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS). Still lower than the operational cost of sgr both Ghana and Nigeria have more than 2000km lines of rail. |

samorobo: Kenyans media and Kenya as a country is obsessed with Nigeria a d her progressive stride.... They even calculated his wealth in their shitty currency that has been massaged with Chinese loans... All the 68 Billion dollars that Kenya owes was used to support the Kenyan shilling Kenya runs a managed shilling rather than a floating one. The IMF last year reclassified the shilling as a managed rather than a floating currency, leading to protests from the authorities who insist that the currency is fairly valued and that the only interventions are to reduce volatility. Bottom line: Secretly managed currencies usually get heavily punished in the end, with Turkey being a recent example. Kenya urgently needs to allow the shilling to find its true value. With the interest rate cap and the low inflation figure the fiscus has pursued a low interest regime to ensure they may borrow cheaply in the domestic market. Smart move — but the only problem with this is how then do you attract dollar investment inflow into the country to increase the demand for the shilling? Monetary theory tells us that funds flow to where there is higher interest. |

copy copy is what is killing them If you borrow to live large, you leave yourself exposed. Basically, what happened to Turkey, last year, is awaiting Kenya samorobo: Kenya is forcing herself to compete with the aforementioned nation whilst digging their own grave unknowingly....it boils down to what I previously said....Kenyan should learn to cut their cloth according to their size and stop doing things because they see others doing it even though it clearly shows they are not yet capable enough to do so.. |

obaaderemi: Even with all the free lectures and analysis you've gotten from the likes of Sammy and just 30 here concerning your failed sgr, you are still talking like this. Read this and counter it with facts: You're in fact incorrigible. Loan repayments to China’s Exim Bank will jump from the Sh31 billion paid in the year to June to Sh71.4 billion in the current fiscal period, reflecting a 130 percent increase. Taxpayers have been forced to shoulder the burden of the SGR loans because revenues generated from the passenger and cargo services on the track are not enough to meet the operation costs, which are estimated at Sh1.5 billion a month against average sales of Sh841 million. |

How can you be supposedly growing by 6% and the following is happening..
A decrease in middle class A lesser purchasing power than Ghana a country of 28m A mall bubble burst.. Constant job loss Extremely high unemployment rate. No infastructure to support growth....
Let me stop here basically no manufacturing and a trade deficit that increased by another 26%. A debt servicing that has grown by more than 50% overnight whiles revenue is still a meagre 12 Billion. |
