That's a tough question -NOT!? whatever you believe is up to you Reality will still be, children are not enslaved here cause all of them are in school. And those who are into apprenticeship programmes receive pay. Is kenya that much helpless such that the only thing their children can do is to engage in sex trade? |

Kazikazi: You make sense at last.Tell me, why is Ghana's gov launching a national airline with the help of Ethiopians? the purpose is not to lunch a national airline just like that The purpose is to aid the private sector to lunch an airline that will serve Ghanaians better on routes that Ghanaians popularly ply. And Ethiopia is the right partner to choose in establishing it air service agreements to the East world. Just like how Ghana airways and South African airlines had before. |

Acadavah: At the battle of Adwa, the Ethiopians had 80000 men with rifles and 42 artillery pieces, the Italians couldn't take it longer. Ethiopia was not rich as Ashanti, sorry 76bill usd is so much. The Italians didnt have an impressive army. what battle did Italy ever win.? The Brits, French and Germans had the greatest forces of those age. The Asantes took 200,000 strong army to every major battle. |

Acadavah: Your king should have bought guns and artillery for those Gold. Imagine if the guy like Samori Ture have those Gold, it would may take more than 15 years for the French to defeat him. The Asantes had a lot of guns and gun powder. Kumasi was under surrender with an army. the city was not a fortress, it was a trading hub and depended alot on it trade. |

They are not slaves They are paid. it is called Child labour, and my ministry is against children labour. And it supports children being enrolled into apprenticeship programs because Ghana has a short supply of labour in the skills programmes |

rvp20182: From just Thailand and India alone - Benin import nearly 2M metric tonnes of parboiled rice. Of course for Nigeria market. Those are like 80,000 containers of rice or trailers. 40M 50kgs bags of rice.
http://www.airea.net/non-basmati-rice-exports/
Now add all the rest of countries Benin & Cameroon rice re-exporters are getting rice from and you'll see Gen Buhari regime much vaunted rice production is just baseless PROPAGANDA. whatever ends up in Nigeria is just half of what Nigeria consumes |

rvp20182: US shale production is expected to rise by 1M barrels by day. The details about fracking although mildly interesting are irrelevant here.
What is relevant - US OIL PRODUCTION Keep rising. More supply. Lower prices. So GHANA & Tullow woes are far from over - prepare the red carpet for IMF shafters and get well moisten - for another drilling or fracking.
Exhibit 1:
The U.S. Energy Information Administration projected U.S. crude output will rise to 12.3 million b/d in 2019 from a record 11.0 million barrels per day in 2018. It forecasts that U.S. crude oil production will rise by 0.9 million b/d in 2020 to an annual average of 13.2 million b/d.Nov 11, 2019
Exhibit 2: of U.S. shale in 2020 is going to be a key factor for oil prices, with multiple sources unsure on how much production will slow down .. Like i told you, The oil producers in the US can not afford to have oil prices lower than 70 dollars That is a break even margin for them because they have a higher production cost than industry average. US cannot afford to increase their production especially when there are really no export market for them because their oil is expensive. Infact, Germany has categorically refused to import LNG from USA even after all the blackmails. and like i told you again, US only us their oil as a political tool to stabilise the market and prevent OPEC from railroading the market into a 100 dollars oil price. Whiles oil demand for the short term is down, in the middle term, the economies of various countries continue to grow and the demands will increase the market is only repositioning. China is shifting into a high tech economy hence their dwindling manufacturing sector. They've offloaded inefficient manufacturing to Bangkok and it other neighbours thereby incresing the manufacturing sectors of those countries likewise more oil demand from them. Look at Turkey, Huge gas market The Koreans are finalising a pipeline project with Russia. |

rvp20182: The first part don't make sense and is non issue. Benin ( a small country of 10M people) cannot be world largest importer of rice if it not re-exporting to Nigeria. Nigeria cannot therefore claim self-sufficiency in rice production.
As regard manufacturing - outside food processing and maybe cement production (essential hard to import stuff)- there is nothing manufacturing going on in Nigeria.Kenya definitely runs circles around Nigeria when it come to manufacturing - textile alone we are exporting nearly 500m dollars worth of apparels.
Oil is not only the biggest (95%) of gov revenues and it's also 98% of it's export. From Oil proceeds - & remittance - Nigerians then imports all their other essentials from abroad - including mostly rebadged finished goods.
The talk of diversified Nigeria economy is crazy idea that can only be entertained by morons like you. Nigeria has not claimed self-sufficiency but it doesnt mean it wont take efforts to increase it rice production to meet it demand. Benin is only a larger importer because Nigerians are taking advantage of it free port policy. Yes there are great manufacturing taking place in Nigeria. from Steel to Microchips to semiconductors. Would you shut up there The manufacturing economy of Nigeria is Bigger than the Kenyan economy. Like i said Nigeria is not collecting taxes from most sectors of it economy Nigeria can deside today, not to use revenues generated from the Oil sector and the taxes they will rake in from their manufacturing and service sectors alone will be twice or thrice as much as they receive from oil. |

rvp20182:
. Kindly enrol in Econ 101 in nearest Kantanka Institute of Economics. Basic demand and supply. The more US raise it oil production - the harder for OPEC to play with oil prices. US will add another 1M barrels per day (about half the size of Nigeria oil). Nigeria in fact was first casualty of US shale because the US no longer buy Nigeria oil. That supply side. The demand side will depend on appetite of the China and global economy for oil. The interplay of demand and supply will set the price - we already knows US will add more - so price will naturally drop. you are clinically dumb producing oil by fracking is very expensive Infact, fracking companies in the US are going bankrupt as their line of credits dry up. They need oil to be prices above 70 dollars and even at that, they are still struggling to make profit. Infact, the frackers are folding up and production is dwindling. the US only play politics by using it reserves to leverage the market The US is not the only buyer of Nigerian oil |

rvp20182: Talk is cheap. 1) No manufacturing can happen in an environment where basic electricity is still rocket science - and where infrastructure has nearly totally collapsed. Once you fix electricity - you can talk about manufacturing. For now all those wet dreams about Longrich, Lekki and textiles are just tall tales
2) Agriculture - .Beyond the rosy make-believe stats - the real proof of the Nigerian pudding is in eating them. Food inflation has risen to nearly 15% - thanks to borde closure - because the rice scam run by your CBN doesn't translate to real production.
3) Your gov is BROKE - BANKRUPT. The federal gov of Nigeria is spending SHOCKING 75% of it's revenues to service debts. It has to borrow locally to pay salaries and pension. A broke gov cannot build infrastructure (capita expenditure) when it cannot meet recurrent expenditure. That is why your gov has resorted to asking Dangote to build roads for them. one thing you dont know is, West Africa does not have a problem with eating what they produce. Infact, in Nigeria, you cant afford to provide food services without using Nigerian rice. Everyone that comes to buy will ask you if it is Nigerian rice. You will be surprised the level of manufacturing happening in Nigeria. Nigeria has really diversified it economy, it only problem today is to increse it effort in collecting taxes due the state. |

rvp20182: Nigeria economy can be summarized by one word OIL.EIA forecasts a drop in oil prices in 2020 with US bringing in nearly 1M barrels per day more oil - so you don't expect growth rate of 2% (less than pop growth rate of 2.5%) to miraculously start growing at 3.4%. what you are saying doesnt even make sense Oil prices can not drop and expect an increase in Shale production in the US. |

TayserMahri: Must be on the morning of October 24, 4004 BC (one day after creation)
get the difference. Kenyans fought off the British in Mau Mau Uprising and are now seeking reparations of which a good percentage has been paid. No Kenyan Mau Mau fighter had his head cut off and sent to Europe and we never forked out a penny to sooth their ruthlessness. Ghana paid the Brits to stave off colonization and were still colonized (thats double tragedy). One Ghanaian chief had his head sent to Europe as a trophy. Not on the same league broh Kenyans tried fighting the Brits and lost miserably and all Mau Mau men were castrated. Mau Mau were butchered and worse Castrated. The Brits wanted the Golden stool of the Asante kingdom and were refused The stool is worth more than 75 billion dollars. paying Britain 75 billion dollars in gold for an end to a 200 years war was a meagre sum in the worth of Asante kingdom. No Ghanaian was castrated like the disgrace of Kenya. the Brits were defeated in the second war and had their governor beheaded. lame Mau Mau people couldn't even break the first line of defence of the Brits. If not for the advocacy of Ghana and a few other states criticising Britain at governmental levels, You guys would still be slaves to Britain as a colony today. |

Btw, Rocket science is no longer as complex as used to be. cause for the 40 years that Ghana Airways flew through the world and made Africa proud with it black crews, Kenya was still thinking of how to liberate itself from its colonial shackles and it people from slavery. West African Airways corporation Liberian national airways Air Afrique and that of Nigeria |

TayserMahri: Thank You! The West African skies belong to Kenya Airways and Ethiopia Airways simply because WAs are genetically incapable of running an airline. some of the most successful airline companies from Africa has come from west Africa. running a national airline is no rocket science and it is of not importance is this day and age. the is a reason why most countries dont run national airlines the airlines market is choked and comes with very little margins. Very few airlines made profit last year |
