vaxx: Market research intelligence. redd intelligence has assured Ghana IMF 3 billion dollar imf loan will be approved next year January completely not needed but this govt will do anything to screw it bond holders in a tit for tat game that it is playing... All because it selfishly pumped a lot of money into oil investment rather than getting partners to partner with in development. Positive is that manufacturing is yielding good results and monies pumped there was a smart move. |

jl115: your an anonymous nairalander who has made some questionable posts before..... You ain't a source Yes I am a source And everything I've said here is easily verifiable.... I'm sure other users have tried using data mapper over the past few months and found the site empty of any usable data. This is why just like the other platform user is saying, data mapper end of year data will be more comprehensive and usable but for now their update is lacking new data for so many countries |

jl115: source? I'm the source .... I am a high user of data mapper For the entirety of 3rd quarter, the site had no data for any country.... They only recently started replacing first quarter data for countries and for those that they could review new data, they added. I'm sure you're not aware of this because you don't really use it It's a good and useful site |

So again what's your point? IMF does not have them on data mapper, their team hasn't reviewed most data yet |

jl115: Your point is what exactly? I didn't say every country has updated their own GDP figures.... I said I'm posting the latest IMF figures The point is just there in the comment Most of the data in data mapper is not up to date for most countries because they still remain 1st quarter data with the exception of the growth rate projection. They'll have a comprehensive set of data by end of year... Things have delayed for most of their data because of the challenges they faced. If you had checked last 2 months and even last month, you wouldn't have gotten any data on that site for most countries. |

jl115: it's the IMF economic report which was updated in October.... Now stop being ret@rded
First you agree with the figures and now you have a problem? Actually, some of the data for most countries have not been updated yet.. except for few countries like Kenya where because of IMF constant engagement over the last 3 years, they've had a quick update on all their data in datamaper. Most countries data are still in first quarter with the exception of GDP growth rate projection which is accurate for all countries Typical kenyan cognitive dissonance |

Shma2022: January is going to be a hard year for Ghana. The year of return returnees will go back with their dollars. Ghana will return to their sinking ship --- normal state. Their impact is insignificant on the Ghanaian economy... What has been significant so far is the fact that Ghana has remove 5 billion dollars per annum that it spend on fuel, from hard currency request to cedis so from next year, oil marketing firms will be buying fuel using Cedis rather than dollars. As well as the Central bank gold hold will grow even higher so the cedi will see even stronger performance. I can't say same for Kenya... The pressures are mounting on you guys |

Shma2022: Road quality index --- way ahead Economy of accra is not better than Nakuru. Skyscraper index --- Accra is in oblivion. Infrastructure index : Nairobi is way above. Transport and logistics index: Nairobi is playing with big boys, not with third-tier cities. Health index: Nairobi is doing fine. Education: We are way ahead. Only south africa can have a say. On the living standards, Nairobi has more dollar millionaires than Ghana. People living above $4000 monthly income are twice that of Ghana. Security --- Ghana security is below average. In short, we are ahead of accra in almost everything serious. All these have been tackle. I won't repeat. Let me just laugh Accra electricity consumption 1000MW more than half of entire Kenya Accra paved road 10,457km also more than half of all of Kenya Accra Healthcare infrastructure, supplies and outcomes is top notch and compare to world standard which is evident. Better than all of Kenya. Education in Accra, just like all of Ghana is rated better than Kenya and ranks only below Egypt, SA, Tunisia Accra transport infrastructure and provisions is rated higher than Nairobi in Mercer QOL Living standards of Accra people is rated higher than Nairobi in all just like Ghana standard of living is higher than Kenya. Housing quality in Accra is world standard as evident in both cities housing data where 40% of houses in Nairobi are mud houses with muddy floors or cow dung walls As for crime, Security and things...everyone knows that Accra is more secure than Nairobi.. You can walk through areas at midnight with no problems |

No wonder you guys get so jittery when they ask you to post your communities. Link is all we need. Links are proper tools for Fact-checking BS. bunch of nonsense Only a fool challenge data that is representative. For instance, Ghanaians and Nigerians challenged Steve hankes inflation calculation because it wasnt representative and was mostly fraudulent. Today we've all been proven right .... It is impossible for inflation to reduce from 150% to 56% in one week unless Hanke’s inflation methodology is fraudulent. A measure of inflation that jumps by more than 7,132 basis points in 8 days is no measure at all.

rvp2018: Bankrupt Ghanian bankrupt of ideas. Kenya debt service this year will be 1.3 trillion - our revenues including AIA projected at 2.6 trillion. THAT is 50% Kshs is at 123 - this is actually where KSHS should have been - and we are happy. Central Bank is not defending KSH This was our medium-term target - IMF wanted devaluation done ASAP but this crisis has done it.
IMF and Kenya technical analysis conclusion was that KSHs was overvalued by 20% - something like 127 was the target - Kenya gov refused to devalue saying the market will decide - IMF disagreed and categorized KSHs as managed currency
Kenya gov is happy with depreciation - this crisis has got us where we wanted.
Mind your bankrupty - and see you in 2040.
I am going to enjoy the shiet show.
Next country to watch in Africa - Nigeria - but they have got their oil game ON.
You're well done. We are moving to watching Nigeria. Read from IMF themselves concerning your managed currency.... The little Forex your country gets, it uses it to keep an artificial rate for the kshs devoid of market sentiments. Watch your currency slide to 160kshs as your CBK is busy burning through it forex with dollar shortage already strangling Kenyan business people. Kenya is the only bankrupt country here with no sovereign wealth funds... The 450 million IMF money that arrived yesterday is not even enough to cover your import for this month. By IMF recommendation... You'll have to offload almost all businesses that the Kenyan govt own and even this will not be enough to cover your Eurobond that is due in 2024. Ghana is sitting on a sovereign wealth fund that can immediately make available billions of dollars if there's a need for it but right now there's none.

Money needed for development goes into paying back debts. That's a recipe for future lack of development. He who goes aborrowing goes asorrowing indeed.
It affects growth of the economy. It's seriously affecting growth rate in Nigeria. I think we're supposed to grow at around 3% this year. What's Ghana:s growth rate for this year? We were expecting 5.8% but currently doing 4.8% |

Kenya is not your typical SUB SAHARA economy that depends on nonsense like minerals
Kenya revenues in 5 months - up 10% Last year it improved from 1.69 trillion to 2.03 trillion.
This year the target is whoping 2.46 trillion.
That fool is almost 24 B dollars.

https://nation.africa/kenya/business/kra-five-month-revenue-collection-up-10pc-4058408 The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has recorded a 10.2 percent growth in revenue collection for the first five months of the current financial year, driven by new tax measures and positive economic recovery.
National Treasury data shows KRA netted Sh758.58 billion in tax revenue for the five months to November, an increase from the Sh688.08 billion tax revenue it collected in the same period last year.
The Treasury introduced a raft of new tax measures in July through the Finance Act, 2022 including an increment of excise duty on products such as fruit juices, cosmetics, beer, wines, spirits, and cigarettes
But with just a month to cross the first half of the fiscal year, however, KRA still lags in its race to collect the National Treasury target of Sh2.46 trillion tax revenues exclusive of grants by the end of June.
KRA collected a record Sh2.031 trillion in revenues for the financial year 2021/22 up from the Sh1.669 trillion it collected in the previous year. another bunch of nonsense that does not deal with Kenya reserves decline to 7 billion Debt service taking 70% of revenue Kenya shilling trading at 127kshs 2 items taking 140% of revenue Kenya govt swapping it debt and domestic debt getting under subscribed leaving your govt in a desperate situation unable to finance itself. Kenya is in dire need as a growing import bill and debt servicing cost has depleted the Kenyan reserves.... Even Kenyans don't want their Govt bonds and treasure bills anymore ... Hugely under subscribed by 40% consistently.
Kenya debt now 9.7 trillion kshs and GDP 106 billion dollars with the shillings depreciating fast.
