another kid here with emojis......thank you sir grin

op,do not buy a used explorer......u dont knw why owner wants to sell.

if u repair ur transmission twice, theres a high chance the electrics have been tampered with while trying to package it for u.so when you eventually buy a replacement, u will still keep having issues(just an opinion)

away from that, the explorer is not very reliable.it will serve, but u will visit ur mecho well well.if u really like it and its ur choice,u might not mind when the problems starts surfacing

if I see a cheap one I will buy...that's me.certain things dont bother me as such

it's a corolla I can never buy.......if e like make e reliable pass all the car for the world,I no dey buy corolla. angry
Thought I Was The Only One Who Disliked That Car. The Only Thing I Envy About The Car Is The Fact That Everyone That I Pass Seems To Have A Functional A.C System. So I Guess Their A.c System Is Top Notch

Which class is the W202 and the year?
The W202 Is A Generation Of C Class Benz That Ran From 1994 or 5 till 2000 am not exactly sure when it ended. It Comes In Various Engine Size From The C180 To The C280 Which Uses A V6 12plugs Engine. They Are All Fuel Efficient Even The V6 Variants And Not Too Costly To Maintain. Just Go With A Competent Mech And Test Drive The Car, Its Not Meant To Jerk When Changing Gear.

I have 2 Corolla at home same generation, 1 gives trouble regularly the other has been peaceful throughout.

from my research the peaceful one is from Canada and it's a clean title, the troublesome one is from US and salvaged. if I didn't know who and only bought the troublesome one won't I demonize corolla?

You had a bad experience with something doesn't make it bad. The same explorer you are afraid of I know people who use it and are happy and the truck variant (Explorer sport Trac) was personally used by a family friend for 5 years
I guess that's another way to look at it, mine was from the US also, and i cant say if it was salvage since i didn't do an autocheck online before purchase, i just went with my benz mechanic then who checked it out.

your own case is special. Ford explorer has always been reliable since the days of it's predecessor Ford bronco.

There is no maggic there same engine in the Ford as the Ranger, F150, E-series what's more the Explorer is one of the best selling SUVs in NA
that car had serious gear problem, i cant even explain the disgrace that car gave to me. Before the ford if there is anything called gear i dont know because it doesnt give me problem. The painful part was counting 120k plus to buy gear box and auxiliary and the gear still giving me issues. Also not counting the fact that it consumes more fuel than a v8 engine.

Thank you so much for also expatiating
further on this. please bro, at the range of what I have what car do you think I should go for considering reliability and maintenance cost. I have already had 2003 Civic and C class in mind. Are you in support of the 2 or any contrary view?
The civic is wonderful because i have a neighbor who owns it and no complain from him whatsoever, though the car is small in my opinion and too low. The c class is also good and fuel efficient and cheap to maintain( the w202),it has a high ground clearance and the interior has a bigger interior to the civic, the engine is also more powerful.
i dont know much about the honda accord eod but its common so i guess it must be cheap to maintain.

It's a solid vehicle if bought as tokunbo but please don't buy any V6 less than 2002 but more safer if you buy 4.6L V8 fitted explorer
Even As Tokunbo Its Not Good.

Ford Explorer!!! Buy At Your Own Peril, That Car Nearly Sent Me To My Village. The Gear Is Too Fragile, I Repaired My Gear Three Times And Bought A Toks Gear All Under 2years Of Use. It Drinks Fuel Not Consume, I Used 130litres From Lagos To Owerri, It Even Consumes More Fuel Than My V8 W220 S500. The Advantage Of The Car Is The Engine Is Good With Ice Cold A.C And Very Spacious Interior And Good Suspension. But I Will Never Buy A Ford Product Again Unless Its Given To Me Free Of Charge.

Car Talk / Re: Toyota Camry 2007 LE To XLE Rear AC Vent Conversion by justiniyke29: 9:23am On May 08, 2020
The Vent At The Rear Is A Continuation Of Airflow From The Front, And As Such Its Usually Weak And Makes Little Difference. An Example Is My W220 With Vent On The Door Pillars, The Center Air Vent From The Rear And Foot Space For The Rear, The Air Coming From Those Vents Is Not Enough, Because Majority Comes Out From Those Vents In The Dashboard.

Toyotas too do get owners stranded so no big deal

Bought a Hummer H2 Jeep because of the hype, big, luxurious and V8 engine, thought the world of it and was convinced it is the best thing after ewa agoyin. Lo and behold, it is the slowest car I have ever driven, very big that I can maneuver through some space and don't let me get started with parking space that one nah wahala grin

I abandoned it in my garage and bought a Bentley continental flying Spur V12 GT from the money I made doing a nasty job. White on cream, voice assistance, driving sensor assist, 21inch chrome wheels, custom built finger ID door unlock. Ignition keycard. The summary of the story is that the Bentley is to heavy and not very smooth in driving, the understeer at high speed is violation of the right of a driver, customization is zero as it comes with special suspension parts.
Both vehicles are in my garage in Need4speedMW grin gathering dust

My Worst Car Was A Ford Explorer I Bought Toks From A Friend. It Was My First Suv And The Car Showed Me Pepper. The First Problem Started After About 3weeks When I Went To Church And The Car Started Having Problem Changing To Second Gear, I Got My First Ford Mechanic And Parted With 25k And The Gear Looked Like It Was Ok Again Only For Me To Take It To My Viewing Center To Watch Ball And The Car Refused To Enter Drive Again, I Had To Use Reverse And Get Home After Waiting Till 11pm. I Spent Money Repairing The Gear And The Gear Started Working Again But Not Entering Reverse. Finally I Closed My Eyes And Bought Tok Gear For Around 130k Minus Money I Spent Moving The Gear From Ladipo To Akute With Mechanics O. After They Fixed It I Traveled With It And Got The Biggest Disgrace Of My Life, I Used 3 Days To Drive From Owerri To Lagos Back. I Later Sold It To Ladipo Boys For 100k And Am Still Been Owed 10k. As For That My So Called Friend Who Sold That Curse To Me, Hmm

that's not necessary I mean he should attend the npfl games even Gareth Southgate doesn't do dah..

I mean he's got a technical team that's based here they can do a good job of watching the games and seeking new talents.

we can get a good goalie in the league but a striker worthy of the national team?? I doubt that
I Believe That If He Scout Our Local Clubs And League He Can Get Someone Better Than That Tall Senseless Striker We Have Or Our Goalie Akpeyi

Hi all...please I need urgent and good advise.
I want to make an urgent travel from Lagos to Abuja on Saturday morning.. in preparation for the work reopening on Monday.
I had moved to my Lagos at the beginning of lockdown and now I need to move back but DRIVING this time.

Please any advise about what to expect on the journey especially in this time...also about the route as it's my first time on this kinda distance.
Advise on checkpoints, eating, bad roads, route or whether not to move at all..

The car am driving is 3.2 v6 ready Acura TL, tyres ok, spare, papers complete but expired yesterday 29th April 2020, no tint, ...please what else do I need to have a smooth ride

Thanks...
Have You Driven Long Distance Before? well just have enough rest, check your car thoroughly expecially the suspension, legs, engine, gear and brake. Then plan the route before you go and leave early because of bad road and lots of checkpoints. Lastly get your favorite songs

I Bought 4 New Sunfull Tires Last Year By December Because Of Xmas Traveling From Lagos To Owerri. I Pumped Them All Exactly 40. I Noticed The Car Vibrating On Speed Above 120km on The Return Trip Shortly After Asaba, I Parked And Noticed One Of The Back Tire Was Bulged. I Changed It With My Spare And After Benin, The Vibration Started And This Time Worst Self. To Cut The Story Short, I Had To Buy Tokumbo Tire At Ore To Change The Second Back Tire. Imagine Losing 2 New Tires From Lagos To Owerri And Back, Though The Front Ones Are Still Good And Look Perfect.

Try Leaving Lagos By 11pm Or 12am Midnight. But First Drive Towards Mowe During The Late Afternoon Or Early Evening And Park At A Filling Station Waiting For Midnight. Once Its Past 11 Drive Off, The Only Checkpoint U Will See Is After Shagmu, At Ijebu Ode, Ore And Some Other Strategic Location. Note: Keep Enough 200 Naira Notes And 500 Naira Notes For Men In Black
