Good morning everyone. Am having a little problem now. Am trying to apply for a master's program but i noticed they need my O level results with my Bsc certificate. I combined both waec an neco. I had d7 in math in my waec. But when i brought out my neco result i found out the the ink that contain my examination nunber, name and year have faded away. I even paid 10k to some people i saw on nairaland yesterday that help with examination number retrival but nothing. Want to ask if i can still go ahead with the registration with only my waec certificate or the university wont allow. Help a brother

I think you should call them to know what exactly is happening. From experience, IQAS takes about 4 months to acknowledge receipt. So its surprising that they have acknowledged your application which only got there last month.

Actually you are right. My application got there since May. But anytime i track my application using Nipost website it keeps telling me is still in Lagos, so i went to nipost office in june to report the issue and the man told me that they are having a problem in south Africa, only for me to receive a main from IQAS in September 20 that my application is received, so i assumed that's when Nipost delivered the package. Also regarding my transcript issue. I sent a mail to them and they replied that i have nothing to worry about and should not resend. They said they will use the information in the transcript to match my application.

What's done's done. You have two options left. One is what you've just suggested. Give that a try. Who knows? You might just receive favour. But we're in a part of the world where anything that comes out from there is viewed with suspicion. I pray they do not suspect any sinister motive for not asking your institution to include your Ref No in the first place. The other option is IQAS rejecting your request and demanding that your school resends the transcript. That's your worst nightmare coming to reality. I do not know much about IQAS, but I know WES do not bend their rules to suit anyone.

Good afternoon, i think i have just made a very stupid mistake. Am using IQAS for my evaluation, i checked my application this morning and the status is showing waiting for transcript which is strange because the tracking number showed that it already received so i went back to read about sending transcript to be sure that i didn't make any mistake but i actually did. My school was meant to send my reference number with my transcript which i didn't inform them about. My question is this, can IQAS use my tracking number add my transcript to my application. Telling my school to resend is a serious problem.

Most universities in Canada don't request for o'level result for Masters program, at least that am aware of. All you need is your BSc result, CV, reference letter and SOP

That is why it is good to ask for clarification instead of jumping the gun and answering your question. Not at all. Your freelancing to earn extra income will not jeopardize your student visa status while in Canada.

Is not illegal......Before starting your freelance Job/ business, check with the Canada Revenue Agency to see if you need to register and find out the reporting requirements. You should also find out what provincial sales taxes may apply to your particular job / business....this is what someone I chatted with about this freelance job over in canada

Am actually talking about if am in Canada on a student visa. That will generating extra income from freelancing cause problem for me

Dear brother (hopefully, I'm correct), worry not yourself on your freelancing job. It is never an illegal business anywhere in the world. That you are having Canadian clients won't affect your chances of approval. Include it and back it up with relevant and available shreds of evidence.

Just to allay your fears. I'm a freelance writer too with clients in the US and Australia. Since what I'm doing isn't criminal or unlawful, why shouldn't I let the visa officer know? Won't that explain my study gap for the past two years? Except you have real reasons to fear, please go ahead and include it as part of your work experience. If earning from an application on iOS or a particular platform is illegal, I believe that as a Mobile app developer, you would have known. As such, if this is the case, refrain from towing that line (and probably stop it altogether).

By the way, the important aspects of your application are

1. Proof of enough finances

2. Proof that you would leave Canada after your studies

3. Purpose of visit.

Every other thing apart from these 3s are _jara_ Start working on these things and stop worrying on your freelancing job.

But what am trying to say is that if my student visa is approved (by the grace of God) for a Masters program. When I get to Canada, hope taking freelancing job like developing mobile app for money from both Canadian and international clients cause problem for me because in my research I found out that for US F1 visa, it's is illegal to do so to the extent that even if you develop app and put it on Google Playstore or ios market and money is been sent to your US account it is considered illegal. So I just want to know if the same applies to Canada

pls Dont get me wrong. wat am saying is that no knowledge in any programming language is lost when hacking. I also use visual studio a lot and I can still recall aircrack a software use for hacking wireless is created in visual studio. all am saying is there is no amount of knowledge you av in any programming language, networking or just operating system that is useless in hacking.

no you Dont need to be a guru in networking and programming. previous knowledge in programming and networking only make your hacking more easier. and also wen u get to the advance stage exploit building, developing shell code, ur programming skill might be needed a little.

it depend on a lot if things. some people can easily understand things by teaching themself while some people find it very difficult to do that. another reason is budget. I started self learning because I can't really afford to pay the amount I was told to bring. so if you av the money you can go for the training but I will still advice you to go beyond the for four corner of ur classroom and learn something new.

Buzzonix: Happy new year to you too, i was wandering, how many programming lang you learnt that are useful to hacking?

the funny thing about programming language and hacking is that u never stop learning. there are son language I can interpret but cant really use to start my own software e.g ruby and they are very good for hacking, languages like perl and c language is also good. but if you just want to start. u might start with c language.
